Running a 725hp Texas Speed LS-based build and TREMEC Magnum transmission, Cam Cocalis has followed on from his LS3 V8 Toyota 86 build with a full chromoly tube frame BMW E30 Vert project and pushed himself to dive into some new build aspects, a C6 Corvette suspension swap in particular, as he continues to learn the ins and outs of fabrication and custom car building.Use ‘PODCAST75' for $75 off your first HPA course here: https://hpcdmy.co/hpa-tuned-inAt the @toyotires booth during @semashow Cam gives us some insight into his welding progression and working process without the use of CAD, with that being a skill he wishes to learn during future projects. The CSF triple pass radiator is rear mounted to aid with weight distribution, and interestingly, this model of E30 came with rear ballast from the BMW factory. The Radium Engineering fuel system behind the Ford 8.8 rear diff also helps to get weight over the rear and a 48/52 split. The Redux Racing ITB-equipped 7L LS-based engine is controlled by a suite of Haltech electronics, and a Live To Offend kit is fitted to the E30 care of SOS Customs handiwork. We didn't get a rundown on the full brake package, but a Wilwood pedal box is equipped which will serve Cam well if he decides to hit the track for some time attack racing in the future.

There's no denying that the C6 Corvette is an excellent sports car platform, but it's probably not the first option that many people reach for when looking to put together an ultra-competitive top-level time attack car. Feras Qartoumy clearly understands its potential, though. He's not only built a competitive Corvette — he's built an absolute monster that doesn't just take podiums, it smashes plenty of outright lap records too.Use “FERAS100” to get $100 OFF our HPA Track Day Package: hpcdmy.co/trackdaybIf you've been following time attack in the US at all, Feras Qartoumy is a name you're probably already familiar with. Along with his trusty Corvette, Feras has set and reset many lap records on circuits around the US, consistently proving to be the man to beat.In this episode, Feras first talks us through how he built up the skills he uses to build and improve his rapid Corvette, before diving into his racing history that started with karts and pro-touring muscle cars. The sport of time attack is next on the table, as Feras breaks down the format, explaining how it all works and the differences between time attack in the US versus locations like Australia and Japan. The conversation next dives deep into Feras' dominating twin-turbo C6 Corvette. All aspects of the car are broken down and explained, from the powerplant to the suspension, to the aerodynamics package, and much more. Feras goes into an excellent amount of detail in explaining why he made the decisions he did when putting this build together, and just why he thinks the car is as fast as it is. To be clear, although this definitely isn't a super cheap build, it's also not an open-chequebook project either, and there's some great insight in this episode when it comes to getting the most speed out of your dollar. This conversation also covers the centrifugal blower vs turbo argument, building engines for time attack racing, motorsport traction control, how Feras fabricated his own aero package for the car, and a whole lot more. With the Corvette currently on its way to Sydney for this year's World Time Attack Challenge, we're looking forward to seeing just what this all-American record-breaking machine and its driver can accomplish on a world stage. Jesse Iwuji is one of those people that is as impressive as he is likable and he is very impressive indeed. While on leave from serving in the NAVY he went to a track day, fell in love with the driving, and decided to become a race car driver. He has done just that, working his way up through late model stocks cars to the Xfinity series. He dailies an R32 GT-R and a C7 Corvette, drifts a C6 Corvette, owns a few businesses, and just created a racing team alongside an NFL legend. A story like his is far from common in the world of auto racing. You won't regret listening. From his website:"Jesse went from competing at the top level of Division-1A college football to rising the ranks of the military as a Lieutenant Commander, and is now the only current driver in all of NASCAR at the national levels that actively serves his country as a US Military member. Today he is one of two African Americans competing at NASCARs national level of racing." @jesse_iwuji https://www.jesseiwuji.com/ Watch our new show, All Cars go to Heaven 3: The Crossoverhttps://youtu.be/AIncQODpC8s Find Valvoline at your local auto parts store.

Now Pro EFI has plug-and-play systems for a handful of applications including the C6 Corvette, and ZL1 Camaro among others. What makes Pro EFI stand out is their fault management and their ability to drive the factory instrumentation via CAN BUS.
