Send us Fan MailOnly two 2026 pickup trucks earned IIHS safety awards this year, and the top winner is probably not the truck most traditional buyers expected. The Tesla Cybertruck earned the only Top Safety Pick+ award, while the Toyota Tundra was the only pickup to earn Top Safety Pick.In this week's Pickup Truck Talk news recap, Cory breaks down the latest IIHS truck safety results, where Ford, Chevy and Ram landed, and why the newest testing standards made the list so short. Also in the news: eight new SRT trucks and SUVs may be coming, Jeep could bring back the Scrambler with HEMI power, a Toyota Tundra engine teardown supports the manufacturing debris explanation, we grade our 2027 Chevy Silverado predictions, Ford teases a cheaper EV pickup, and we have a quick Father's Day gift reminder for truck dads.#PickupTruckTalk #TruckNews #Cybertruck #ToyotaTundra #IIHSGet your Screen ProTech screen protector:https://screenprotech.com/timJoin our Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/c/pickuptrucktalkSupport the show
On Wednesday, some 1,000 union workers who were on strike at GM supplier Dauch Corporation, formerly American Axle, in Three Rivers, Michigan, reached a tentative deal with the company. The new contract will secure the workers' topline demand of $30 per hour by 2030, a more than 36% increase to the top wage rate over the next four years. Members of the UAW Local 2093 walked out on strike at midnight on June 1, 2026. The plant makes axles for GM's GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado pickup trucks and commercial vans. In a statement, UAW President Shawn Fain, said, "After 18 years of sacrifice, these workers are finally winning back a big chunk of what was taken from them."According to the union, American Axle workers made major sacrifices to save the Three Rivers facility from closure during the Great Recession in 2008. "Many long-time workers who were making as much as $29 an hour in 2008 saw their wages slashed to $14.50," the UAW said. UAW members hired before May 31, 2012, including those who went from $29 per hour in 2008 to $14, will see an immediate $8 per hour increase once the new contract is ratified. Union workers will also see more paid days off and won't have to make any concessions on their current health care costs. For example, workers won't experience any healthcare premium cost increases over the next four years. The union also won time off to celebrate Martin Luther King Day and Veteran's Day, as well as more days off for Christmas. Workers with at least one year of seniority will receive an additional nine vacation days per year as well as a $2,000 ratification bonus.#UAW, #UnitedAutoWorkers, #LaborNews, #Strike, #Manufacturing, #ManufacturingNews, #Automotive, #AutoIndustry, #GeneralMotors, #GMSupplier, #FactoryWorkers, #UnionStrong, #LaborUnion, #MichiganManufacturing, #IndustrialNews, #SupplyChain, #AmericanManufacturing, #Workforce, #ShawnFain, #AutoParts

Looking for an honest truck review with real numbers and a big-picture take on where the market's heading? We put the 2025 Ford F-150 STX SuperCrew 4x4 through its paces and share what matters: towing capacity, payload, highway manners, and the surprising value packed into a lower-trim workhorse. The 5.0L V8 and 10-speed deliver confident power and direct steering, while the standard 12-inch screen, LED lighting, and practical 60/40 rear seat storage make daily life easier. We dig into fuel economy, pricing that ranges from budget-friendly to nicely equipped, and how the STX compares to Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Chevy Silverado. Then we tee up a future compare with the F-150 King Ranch hybrid to show how far the lineup stretches. We also tell a one-of-a-kind story from GM's Janesville days: a tiny bar so close to the assembly plant that workers hopped a fence for lunch beers. It outlasted the factory before redevelopment finally erased it, making space for a proposed $8B data center. It's a vivid look at how car culture shapes communities—and how those spaces evolve.Market reality gets equal airtime. EV registrations slipped for the first time in years, and we unpack why: price sensitivity, incentive changes, and charging friction that push mainstream buyers toward hybrids. We talk brand-by-brand turbulence, Tesla's smaller dip, Cadillac's surprising pop from a low base, and Toyota's patient strategy that prizes reliability, hybrids, and measured rollouts. Plus, a rapid-fire racing calendar—NHRA in Gainesville, F1 drama over energy-saving race formats, IndyCar on a tight oval, and NASCAR weekend viewing—so your motorsports schedule is set.If you care about trucks, performance, reliability, and the shifting auto landscape, this one connects the dots with numbers, stories, and straight talk. Most people talk about resilience. Rachel Druckenmiller lived it. Six weeks into a global pandemic, while trying to save a brand-new business, Rachel was out for a run when she was literally hit by a Chevy Silverado. Two days later—with a spinal fracture and wearing a back brace—she was on Zoom teaching leaders how to find hope in uncertainty. But this isn't just a "hustle culture" story. In this episode, Rachel reveals the deep, often painful work of Post-Traumatic Growth. She explains why we often choose the "safe" path of being muted over the brave path of being seen, and how a brush with death finally gave her the courage to stop silencing her own voice. Want a truck that works hard without the luxury price tag? We take the 2025 Ford F-150 STX SuperCrew 4x4 on real roads to see how its 5.0-liter V8, 10-speed automatic, and direct steering stack up against the high-trim hype. With 12,700 lbs of towing, 1,685 lbs of payload, and a standard 12-inch center screen, this “lower” trim still brings serious muscle and everyday comfort. We break down the maze of trims, cabs, beds, and engines, then map the pricing landscape against Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra, and Chevy Silverado to pinpoint where the value truly lives. From there, we trade spec sheets for scenery with five family-ready spring break road trips. Base out of Flagstaff for a Grand Canyon loop with Sedona red rocks and Route 66 neon, or chase ocean air on California's Pacific Coast Highway with Monterey and Santa Cruz stops. Prefer forests and wildlife? The Great Smoky Mountains deliver waterfall pullouts, easy hikes, and a Cades Cove loop with deer and black bear sightings. Desert dreamers get a cooler-season window into Utah's Mighty Five—Zion, Bryce, and Arches—where short hikes lead to vast views. And if nostalgia calls, string together Route 66 segments for vintage motels, classic diners, and Americana in motion. We also pull back the curtain on parking lot design. Why do angled spaces feel easier? When does perpendicular packing backfire? We explain 30, 45, and 60-degree tradeoffs, one-way flow, door clearance, and ADA considerations so you can pick smarter spots and keep your doors ding-free. Finally, we put the 2026 Mazda 3 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus under the microscope. With 227 hp, 310 lb-ft, upscale materials, and a compact footprint, it's a lively daily driver—though a small trunk opening and fussy infotainment hold it back. We compare it with Civic, Corolla, and Elantra to help you choose the right compact for your roads. If this helped you sort your next truck or plan a better road trip, follow the show, share it with a friend, and drop a quick review—what would you drive first, the F-150 STX or the Mazda 3?Be sure to subscribe for more In Wheel Time Car Talk! The Lupe' Tortilla RestaurantsLupe Tortilla in Katy, Texas Gulf Coast Auto ShieldPaint protection, tint, and more!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. “Should Texas Football Rewrite the Playoff Rules? Inside Rivalries, RoboTaxis, and Austin's Big Comeback” Episode Description "Does it really matter how you played in September, or is November and December all that counts in college football?" That's the burning question kicking off this episode of The JB and Sandy Show, where football fever collides with Austin's urban evolution and the future of ride-sharing. Join JB, Sandy, and Tricia as they dive into the electrifying aftermath of the Texas Longhorns' victory over the Aggies—a win that sparks heated debate about playoff fairness, national brand influence, and the heartbreak of senior players opting out for NFL dreams. Sandy's razor-sharp football insights challenge the playoff committee's logic, while JB asks, “Should networks have the power to shape the playoffs just for ratings?” The crew doesn't shy away from controversy, dissecting Coach Sark's postgame defense and the infamous Florida loss with memorable lines like, “Explain Florida. You got beat by a really bad Florida team.” But the show isn't just about football. Tricia brings the “story we love,” revealing how the Downtown Austin Alliance is fighting to revive the city's heart with half-price Uber rides and $25 billion in construction transforming the landscape. The team shares personal stories about navigating Austin's chaos, from cadet parades to the quirks of city parking. The conversation shifts gears as JB recounts their first ride in a Tesla RoboTaxi—“$6 for a trip that's usually $30!”—and the hosts imagine a future where ride-share means choosing your adventure, from classic cars to mullet-powered pickups. The laughter is contagious, especially when Sandy jokes, “If Uber had an option for a guy with a mullet in an '87 Chevy Silverado, I'd choose it more often than I'm proud to admit.” From college football's playoff drama to Austin's urban reinvention and the wild world of ride-sharing, this episode is packed with sharp opinions, local flavor, and moments that will have you texting friends before the show even ends.Notable Quotes & Memorable Moments“It's not about how you were playing in September. By Alex WilsonWhen I was 17, my parents gave me my dad's 1997 Chevy Silverado. The truck was almost completely made of steel, and their thinking was simple: if Alex gets into an accident, he has a better chance of walking away because of how tough this truck is. They were right – I did get into a wreck, and I walked away from it. I even went to school that day. This gift was meant to protect me, to help me flourish, to get me safely to school and football practice. It was given so I might live an abundant high school life. But I trashed the gift. I didn't honor it – I did donuts, raced my friends, drove without a seatbelt. I failed to honor the gift they had given me.God's law is a lot like that truck. In our ongoing 52-week study through the New City Catechism (by Crossway), we arrive at Question 8: "What is the law of God stated in the Ten Commandments?"The law that God gave to Moses was a gift to His people. Think of it as a vehicle to transport them from Egypt to the promised land, to get them from point A to point B safely so they could flourish and experience the abundance of life that comes from walking in communion with God. But like me with my truck, they saw it as something to be broken.Let's break down the Ten Commandments:The first four commandments focus on our relationship with God:* Have no other gods before me* Do not make an idol for yourself* Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God* Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holyThe remaining six govern our relationships with others: 5. Honor your father and mother 6. Do not murder 7. Do not commit adultery 8. Do not steal 9. Do not give false testimony 10. Do not covetJesus beautifully summarizes these into two commands: Love God and love your neighbor. The first four commandments show us how to love God, while the last six teach us how to love our neighbors. Here's the challenging part: if you break even one of these commandments, you've broken them all. If you've kept them perfectly for 30 years but fail in year 31, you've broken them all. These laws show us how holy God is and how impossible it is for us to keep them perfectly on our own. This is where Christ enters the picture. He takes God's law – this gift – and obeys it completely because He is perfect, the Son of God. He dies to pay the punishment for our law-breaking (death), and rises three days later by the Spirit of God.This means we now live under a new covenant. If you trust in Jesus, you're no longer under the covenant of works (trying to perfectly obey the law to earn salvation) but under the covenant of grace. Jesus did the work for us. Even when we slip up, we remain in right relationship with God because of Christ's perfect obedience. Now we can finally experience the gift of God's law as it was intended. Instead of seeing it as a monster lurking over us, we can view it as the gift it truly is – a guide to abundant life and flourishing.I think back to my reckless driving days. I was searching for happiness in all the wrong places, putting myself in danger, living with anxiety. What if I had stopped and recognized that truck as the gift it was? What if I had shed my entitled attitude and instead spent time caring for it, appreciating it?Here on Kauai where we live, I see local boys with their first trucks taking such incredible care of them – washing them, maintaining them, treating them with respect. There's a joy they have that others miss when they don't treat their vehicles as gifts. Can we approach God's law the same way? Instead of viewing it as a burden, what if we saw it as a gift that shows us the path to abundant life? Under the covenant of grace, God's law isn't a harsh taskmaster but a loving guide, leading us to freedom rather than slavery. If you want to dive deeper into these weekly reflections, subscribe to our Substack where I post detailed outlines of each episode. Shoot us a Text. The end of the year is finally here, and so we're looking back, covering the top 10 best-selling vehicles of 2024. Plus, we talk about a unique $0 down and $0 monthly payment Fiat lease as well as reflect on some of our most memorable moments.Show Notes with links:Hybrid electric-gas cars had a banner year in 2024, achieving record sales. With a shift in buyer demographics, these vehicles bridged the gap for consumers seeking efficiency and practicality without fully committing to electric vehicles.A shift from early adopters to budget-conscious shoppers drove hybrid demand. Many buyers appreciated the lower costs and simpler integration into daily life compared to EVs.Here are 2024's top 10 best-selling vehicles. 10. Chevy Equinox. 9. Honda Civic 8. Nissan Rogue 7. Toyota Camry 6. Toyota Corolla 5. Tesla Model Y (only true EV on the list) 4. Chevy Silverado 1500 3. Honda CR-V 2. Toyota RAV4 1. Ford F-150 (America's best-selling vehicle for 47 years, with 20% of buyers opting for the hybrid version)The top three all have hybrid options that did especially well this year, and about half of all RAV4 and CR-V sales are hybrids, according to Edmunds.“Hybrids this year became an extremely easy default decision for someone who doesn't want to go full electric but wants basically 70% or 80% of benefits” said Ivan Drury of Edmunds.Who says driving electric has to break the bank? A Fiat dealership in Colorado pulled off the seemingly impossible: a lease deal on the 2024 Fiat 500e that truly costs $0 down and $0 a month. The deal covers a 27-month term, 10,000 miles per year, with just $1,300 in state taxes and fees due upfront.Larry H. Miller Chrysler-Dodge-Ram-Fiat Denver moved over 60 cars in three days, using over $15,000 in federal and state incentives, plus factory discounts, to enable this unheard-of lease offer.Colorado's state incentives decrease in 2025, and federal EV credits are under scrutiny, meaning deals like this are less likely in the future.David Gluckman of Car & Driver leased one of the cars, and commented on the dealership's challenges with such a unique agreement: “I was warned, apologetically, that there was a chance I might have to re-sign some of the paperwork because the dealer's computer system didn't know how to handle a lease with no payment… A funny formality: They still had to run a credit check to confirm my ability to (not) pay.”As we close out the year, we look back at some of our most memorable moments. Shoot us a Text.Donald Trump's return to the White House could disrupt the auto industry's EV ambitions. Plus, Elon Musk's advisory role with the new administration and his plans for autonomous tech. And, IKEA opens its first stand-alone restaurant in London.Show Notes with links:Former President Donald Trump has won the 2024 election, and his return could lead to major shifts for the auto industry, especially around electric vehicle (EV) policies, trade, and incentives. Here's what might be in limbo for automakers:EV Regulations: Trump may roll back aggressive EV mandates set under Biden, reducing pressure on automakers to hit strict electrification targets.Tax Credits: Biden-era EV tax credits could be at risk, impacting demand and profitability for manufacturers deeply invested in electric tech.California's Emission Standards: Trump might revoke California's right to set its own emissions standards, affecting states that follow its lead.Trade Policies: Trump may tighten restrictions on Chinese vehicle parts, intending to boost domestic production but likely increasing vehicle costs. The Elon factor: Here's how Musk's involvement could shape auto policies and beyond:Trump has proposed forming a government efficiency committee led by Musk, aiming to cut $2 trillion from the federal budget. Musk has already expressed his interest in reducing government spending by 30%.Musk advocates for a unified federal approval process for autonomous vehicles, reducing state-by-state regulatory inconsistencies. He commented, “If there is a department of government efficiency, I'll try to make that happen.”While Trump is generally less favorable toward EV mandates, analysts speculate that Musk's influence may push for selective pro-EV policies that align with Tesla's interests.Musk, a long-time proponent of U.S.-based manufacturing, may support Trump's trade stance on limiting Chinese parts imports, which could impact supply chains and costs for EV makers.Tesla stocks spiked 15% following the election, underscoring investor optimism over Musk's potential influence in the new administration.General Motors has claimed the number two spot in EV sales in the U.S. for Q3 2024, with 32,000 EVs sold across multiple brands. Ford, however, disputes GM's approach to these numbers.GM's EV lineup includes the Chevy Silverado, Blazer, Equinox EVs, GMC Hummer EV, and Cadillac Lyriq, all on the Ultium platform.GM has sold 370,000 EVs in North America since 2016, with 300,000 of those in the U.S. Tesla remains far ahead, with over 5 million units sold globally since 2008.Ford argues it's still the “No. 2 best-selling EV brand,” claiming GM's figures count all brands together, altering the comparison. From Reddit polls to repeat diners, IKEA's food offerings are beloved, with many customers visiting the store just for the food which is why IKEA's first stand-alone restaurant next to its Hammersmith store in London marks a fresh chapter for the brand, leveraging its famous Swedish Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

Recorded: July 16th 2024 It's Episode #290, and The Boys brought in an incredible guest for a truly momentous pod. Sam Morril is a stand-up comedian, co-host of the "We Might Be Drunk" podcast, and to date, he has released several comedy specials, the most recent being "You've Changed" on Amazon. Sam came and kicked it with The Boys just in time to talk some preseason ball. He is a NYC super fan—the Knicks, the Giants, the Rangers, and the Yankees are all his teams—and he wasn't shy about telling Will and Taylor how he really feels about his New York Giants. After some discussion about football, Sam talks about his journey through comedy, starting at a young age and developing not only his on-stage performances but also his writing ability as a comedian. Sam lifts the curtain on his potential future in screenwriting and shares his favorite noir films with The Boys. After Sam discusses his professional career with Will and Taylor, all three are surprised by a nice little phone call from Shane Gillis. Sam then talks about his experience cameoing in the film Joker, followed by behind-the-scenes onset stories and the aftermath of the film's critical acclaim. In this week's intro... FOOTBALL HAS GOT THE BOYS JACKED! Two mics are broken in the first 4 minutes of the pod. Taylor has to sit in a new seat due to the damage done on the bus. The Boys talk preseason football, the QB play from last weekend, and their expectations for the NFC and AFC divisional champions. Last but not least, it is finally time for the audit of Jack McPherson. Does Jack get the Chevy Silverado? Did he miss any days? Find out on this week's episode of Bussin' with the Boys! First things first.. was there ever really beef between The Boys and Rich? What was the final straw that made Rich crack and come to Nashville? Are the tier 1's the true reason Rich came on the pod?! Recorded: December 11th 2023 | On this weeks episode, we got all the boys on the bus and it is just a good hang. Will and Taylor start talking about how they aren't the most handy guys out there, which we all knew already. Following that, Taylor and Garrett get into it regarding the College Football Playoff Semifinal between Michigan and Alabama. The two have been bickering ever since the schedule came out and some of that bickering continued on the bus. There might even be a bet in place for the game. Then the guys get into the fantasy league that the entire office is involved in and how the integrity of the league has been ruined because of one decision, you'll have to tune in to learn more about that. The guys get into their good, bad and ugly from the week that was in the NFL. Some of the good is, the Cowboys and Dak Prescott plus JP getting engaged. Some of the ugly was Kadarius Toney lining up offside and Will's daughter pooping in the tub. The boys end the pod talking about when we all found out the truth of Santa. Will and Taylor's kids are soon getting to that age where they might be finding out the truth soon. Of course we had to finish it off the twisted question, the overly direct take and the shittiest moment. This episode is just a good hang with the Bussin crew that you guys will definitely enjoy. 0:00 Intro 2:15 The boys aren't the most handy 8:11 The boys are a bit dirty 10:05 Michigan vs Alabama 20:03 The good 24:45 The Bussin fantasy league 31:33 Back to the good 33:05 Mitch is still getting a hard time 35:45 JP got engaged 45:25 The bad 50:38 There's too many Santa's 59:20 Overly Direct Take 1:01:33 Kadrius Toney lining up offside 1:07:52 Twisted Question 1:12:30 JP's Christmas take 1:16:56 The Rock might be coming on the show 1:20:44 Shittiest Moment 1:24:28 Barstool Survivor SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS: Chevy: Head to chevy.com and check out Chevy Silverado and the Family of Chevy ZR2s—the official Trucks of Bussin With The Boys Gametime: Download the Gametime app or go to https://gametime.co/, enter your email, and redeem code BUSSIN for $20 off your first purchase (terms apply).
