DJ alt.rock was also a nod to early rap names that usually contained either "rock" or “ski”… Never in a million years did I imagine that the prefix “alt-” would be so drastically ruined by a former reality TV clown, but that's exactly what happened in 2016/17… I've done my best to clear that name from as many mixes and artwork as possible, but some sets have so many alt.rock DJ-drops in them that I've opted to just post this notice and keep it moving. From now on, I'm using my first name, because nobody can mess it up (other than myself).

Our Big 5 bad-ass action heroes. We "celebrate" Cassette Store Day 2016, and Nirvana's naked Nevermind Baby turns 25. Plus, sticky's no spoiler review of Luke Cage and much much more. "Heroes and Villains" is our music theme with songs by The Supervillains, Cannibal Ox, and Method Man.
Looking at past and present uses and abuses of cassette tapes over the last 5 decades. This show includes the sounds of poltergeists, doomsday cults, fake serial killer confessions, tapes from Cassette Store Day 2015, another artist taking the 4 Track 24 hour challenge, as well as the never aired and the rarely heard. First broadcast on Radio Reverb 97.2FM and DAB in Brighton on 1st November 2015
The last of our field reports from Memphis about the last big day of Gonerfest 11. Bobby chats/flirts with our buddy Rob Yazzie (Lola Cola, Love Collector, The Fells). Chris Eggroll relates a harrowing tale of collateral bathroom damage. Meanwhile on the homefront, Slacks Peterson hits up a Cassette Store Day party over at Fond Object. There, he talks to Doug and Steph of Mystery Twins who dropped the "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" EP on tape for the occasion. He also catches up with Ryan Sweeney (Cheap Time, Hans Condor) to discuss record digging and whatnot.
Anoraks Tom Bonnett and Alex Lawson discuss the beauty of the tape ahead of Cassette Store Day. Alex explains why a handmade cover and a curated collection of songs can make a couple of magnetic reels in a plastic case come to life and why tapes may be making a comeback.
