Radio TRO is brought to you in part by:Twisted Road - Motorcycle Rental in the USAVisit Twisted.TRO.bike to get a FREE riding day!Stephen Christena joins us from Arc Academy, founded in 2008. They've trained ~30,000 students to fight the welder shortage with real shop skills. Now a 501(c)(3), they're expanding to other cities, feeding unions and proving results with hired grads. As is standard, Robin MCs like a double-espresso foreman. His shout out to Silver City vintage leads to bullying the transcript clock. The motorcycles for-sale page is revived, XR750 myths corrected, BMW news dropped and everyone squints at Yamaha patents.Travis Burleson returns(!) with his dry wit and engineer logic. He kills "exhaust as thruster" nonsense and explains butterfly valves plainly. Winterizing in Wisconsin, Travatron booked 6 MotoVid tracks days, suggesting locked gear, insured bikes and owning risk.Jordan is still kickin' out 1970 Daytona 200 history. This time, he hypes Yamaha's 350 two-stroke magic and reed-valves. Queen Street Motorcycles continues to inspire young builders to unleash their creativity on a variety of motorcycles. Geoff is a member of QSM with great vision and a fondness for 70's styling. His ideas are reminiscent of custom hot rod and motorcycle builders of that era, like Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, George Barris, Ray Fahrner and Gene Winfield. Granted, these builders were mainly into cars but the raw, edgy, out of the box thinking they had is what I see in Geoff. Maybe Geoff will build an Ed Roth inspired trike?I really appreciate the enthusiasm and passion of all the members of Queen Street Motorcycles. It excites and inspires me to see a group of young people so involved in the culture. It's not easy or comfortable to put yourself on camera. Thank you Geoff for your willingness to share the story of your build with all of us.Follow Speed & Kolor on Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/speedandkolor/ or within the Instagram app, @speedandkolor to get all the latest news and information.Speed & Kolor is also on YouTube, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQgtch0bqBTGgDRcaFK-4oQ for video versions of each podcast episode.Build safe, ride safe, be cool!

Visit YamahaMotorsports.com to learn more. * * * * * In this first segment, I chat with Editor Matt Ayhan about two closely related all new bikes from Honda: the CB750 Hornet, and its larger sibling, the CB1000 Hornet SP. These are similar—but also very different upright naked sportbikes from the Big Red. The 750 is a parallel twin, and the 1000 is an inline-4. It might seem obvious which bike has the greater appeal, but I guarantee you there are some real surprises from Matt on how both of these bikes performed, and where they excel. * * * * * Have you checked out Insta360, the leader in 360-degree action camera technology? It's the 33rd annual Biketoberfest® rally that takes place in the Daytona Beach and Volusia County areas; this year it's on Oct. 16-19. The four-day motorcycle event attracts riding enthusiasts to the destination for the beautiful Florida weather, live music, the industry's top vendors, bike shows, motorcycle racing at Daytona International Speedway. There are miles of scenic rides along the famous A1A, historic Main Street and the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop. For more information and to book your plans for Biketoberfest® 2025, visit www.biketoberfest.org * * * * * Our guest this episode is Associate Editor Freeman Wood. As you might know, Freeman is a big fan of motorcycle travel, and there's nothing he likes more than to take off with a few of his buddies and take a road less traveled. Teejay chats with him about his latest adventure through the mountains of Colorado and ultimately to Moab, Utah. He rode a KTM 890 Adventure, with several modifications to help survive the adventure. The group definitely got into some scrapes, but (spoiler alert) they did actually survive to fight again another day. The route is actually listed as the Colorado BDR (Backcountry Discovery Route) and you can check it for yourself either at Butler Maps or at RideBDR.com. * * * * * Here's a quick reminder to leave us your comments on our social media—we're on all the usual platforms at Ultimate Motorcycling. Hello and welcome to Front End Chatter, Episode 168 in the long-running series of Great Motorcycling Podcasts – yes, we're back after a late summer break in which one of us got married and one of us didn't. Thanks as ever to Bennetts, the bike insurance specialists, and BikeSocial.co.uk – supplying quality motorcycle news, reviews, videos, launches and consumer product tests longer than anyone can remember. No, not the consumer tests themselves; how long BikeSocial has been aro... oh never mind. Right, 168 is easy to describe: • a big chatter about the finale of the MotoGP races of the season, who won, are the Japanese factories on the way out, and why it will be our last for a while • tons of new bike news, including Honda's Transalp & Hornet 750 slugging it out with Suzuki's P-Strom 800DE and impossible-to-pronounce GSX-8S, plus a bit of green news from Kawasaki (geddit?), the most advanced radar system ever on the new Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+, revamped Triumph Street Triples and loads of stuff we forgot to mention. Thanks again for listening with your ears, and please send thoughts, questions and offers of pretty much anything to: anything@frontendchatter.com @SimonHbikes @Mufga

This week on our motorcycle podcast we hear from Award Winning Mike, who has just returned from one of the Leod Escapes tours. He traveled through Austria, Germany and Czech Republic, with the highlight of the tour being 3 days of track riding at the MotoGP track BRNO. Mike gives Cat McLeod's tour 6 out of 5 stars, and can't wait for the next trip. https://www.leodescapes.com/ Next up, Zach tells us about all the trick mods and upgrades he's been doing to his gen 1 Suzuki SV650. He loves this bike and wants to keep it going forever, which brings up the question: Will the SV650 be as beloved in 20 years as the CB750 is now? And also, what is the cause of death of most bikes? Where do they all go? And lastly, Jim gives us a report on his dirt riding adventure that happened to coincide with an extreme enduro race. With Liza, Jason, Miss Emma, Nak, Naked Jim, Award Winning Mike, Bagel and Zach. recyclemotorcyclegarage@gmail.com www.motorcyclesandmisfits.com www.patreon.com/motorcyclesandmisfits www.zazzle.com/store/recyclegarage www.youtube.com/channel/UC3wKZSP0J9FBGB79169ciew

Creative Riding has moved to Sundays! Expectations of Nostalgia We all know that the CB750 was the first UJM, and first affordable production bike with disc brakes. Everyone remembers that the 750 Norton was affectionately called the Harley Killer for a reason. But does anyone remember the Spanish word for suitcase? Exactly. And like a word whose meaning we forget because we have not had purpose for its use in some time, vague memories and feelings of nostalgia can quickly overwrite hard realities. Truth can be forgotten; crushed like a taint on a rock-hard factory seat. The expectations of nostalgia and the reality of being practical cannot coexist, but what happens when we try? On this episode: Crafting News Nostalgic Feelings Off Track -"new segment" Junky's Tips Events Riders Lost - do you know someone who got into riding and quit, tried it out and said, "Nah", or didn't get into riding at all because of public perceptions of the motorcycle? This is our last call to action on this topic before we start show development, so please reach out. This week on our motorcycle podcast we play a little game called Guess the Mystery Guest with Wendy Crockett, who recently was the first woman to win the Iron Butt Rally. These riders are extreme nutters, and Wendy is queen of all the bad asses. She rode 13,000 in just 11 days on her FJR1300. She talks about what it takes to stay comfortable on a long ride, and also her plans to take her whole family on a moto journey in Central and S. America. For this we give her the cool parent award. What a great trip for her 5 year old daughter to experience. We also talk about the Redwood Rumble Chopper Show, kids in Evel Knievel suits, being featured in the latest AMA magazine, pooping in a river, another possible engine teardown, two-stroke guy, and the appearance of a 79 CB750 in the back of Emma's truck. And as a bonus, we throw in an Emma's History Hole on the Honda CB750 for it's 50th birthday. With Liza, Bagel, Nak, Michael, Miss Emma and Naked Jim. This week on our motorcycle podcast we are off to the races. Well, we went to the MotoAmerica races, though we didn't actually watch any of the races.....But we test rode bikes, ran into lots of friends and had a ton of fun. We'll share our experiences on the test rides, which include the Yamaha Niken and a BMW S1000RR. Our guests this week were also there, but they were hanging with the cool kids in race leathers. Aliki from VnM Sport is here to talk about racing and under garments. And Shiree from Sheemotos is here to talk about racing (and punching Aliki in the uterus) but also she shares her story of overcoming a head injury and later using motorcycling to help women overcome PTSD much like she did. They've both got great stories to tell, but we're going to throw in a bonus story for free. Davis from Atlanta has joined us as well. He's been riding his 1978 CB750 across the country and spent the day at the shop tearing down his engine and fixing an oil leak. Never ever trust us when we say we want to take a picture with you and your bike. It's like shooting fish in a barrel people. Motorcycles, roasts, Races, Shows, Giving a Shift about the future. This is episode 108. Well, you’ve made it to another episode. Congrats! On this episode we discuss listener feed back. We have a round of Instagram Shoutouts at the end of the show. Before we begin, I’d like to encourage you to take a ride over to http://creative-riding.com/WPMaster/mugs-for-sale/ and use the link to buy yourself a mug! You’re worth it! In the spirit of the show, you can even customize it and send us pics. Congrats to Lance who went and ordered a STEIN! That’s a lot of beverage, and probably needed to get through the entire show. Part one: We have some listener feedback. On last week’s show we talked about CAN-Bus systems, and were told that in fact the kit that Lance was talking about installing on his CB750 was in fact a MotoGadget. Go check them out if you’re looking to remove complexity from your current build. Wiggins and I had busy weekends. He talks about the Veggie Plate Classic that he helped promote at Perris Raceway. I talk about the Women’s Moto Show at Lucky Wheels. Part two: Roast my bike… Well, let’s just say we bring the elementary school cut-downs this time. The target this time is talented artist and previous guest, N8 Biccum . Nate has a 2006 Dyna. Who doesn’t though, you know what I mean? Remember N8, this all comes from a place of love and comedy, and we just want you to know that we’re saying what others are saying. While your’e listening to the show, go check out N8biccum in instagram for your chance to win an illustration! Part three: If you’ve got time, after our show give a listen to Episode 236 of the Motorcycles and Misfits , or episode 69 of The 2 Enthusiasts Podcast. Both cover the Give a Shift movement that former industry representative Robert Pandya has started in response to the recent fears around the future of motorcycling. You can go to www.motogiveashift.com to view the reports, transcripts and other information regarding Give a Shift. I was lucky enough to attend the G.A.S. presentation at Lucky Wheels Garage. Wiggins and I give our thoughts on some of the long term patterns that may have lead to the circumstances that have the moto media and some industry experts concerned. Thanks for listening. Have a great day.
