I was listening to Fr. Mike Schmitz talking about the five second rule in regard to food on the floor. But, at the same time I was reading a book about a different five second rule that can literally change your life, in five seconds. ---------- Hi there! Trapper Jack here. You are familiar with the five second rule, right? It's when you drop a piece of food on the floor and proclaim, ‘five second rule,' and it now becomes OK to eat. But there is another five second rule. While talking to Jenny, a God incident occurred, and a reference to a book called the Five Second Rule. Jenny heard something that she needed to hear to change her prayer life and deepen her relationship with God. It's one of those Touched by Heaven moments that's within the Touched by Heaven Podcast. It's always so cool when it happens. And it happens more than once in this episode. Amid all of this is Jenny's story. We see the hand of God in finding her husband. We see the hand of God in Jenny's dreams. We once again see how our angels protect us and help guide us. I love this conversation Because everything we want and pray for is right there at our fingertips … In about five seconds. Enjoy the podcast. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. He describes having foreknowledge and being able to see multiple people from different regional points, entering a dark void, then light, and coming in contact with spiritual entities and God as well. He also describes his own physical rehabilitation and how he now harnesses the powers he returned with to help others.

In today's show Adam speaks with Neale Donald Walsch, the renowned author of Conversations with God. Adam believes that a truly healthy person needs to have a spiritual practice and spiritual aspects of their life. Adam was able to explore and discuss the nature of spirituality with none other than the author of Conversations with God himself. For most of Adam's life, he was resistant to anything to do with God and organised religions. There was something he didn't trust about organised religion, and got God confused and mixed up in this distrust. Adam felt that organised religion is the construct of man and can be seen as a form of control by some.. But in reading Neale's Conversations with God, Adam finally got “it” and felt deeply connected to the type of relationship with God Neale discussed in his books. “God is not something that's way over here someplace, outside of us. In fact, that essence of the universe that we call God … exists within all of us. It's part of every single sentient being in the cosmos. So not only are we having a conversation with God, we are, in fact, a part of God.” ~ Neale Donald Walsch Connect with Neale Website Show Sponsors MasterPeace **Purchase link for MasterPeace here.** Zeocharge Purchase Here (discount code: IDEAL10 for 10% off) You can also check us out on Instagram @idealdayadam

Do you have trouble calming your mind and letting go of your to do list to pray? Do you feel frustrated with yourself and wish you could just be better? Enter the Colloquy, a fancy word for “conversation” in St. Ignatius of Loyola's formula. It's a simple formula- literally 3 quick steps- anyone can use to have an authentic connection to the Lord. In the first few minutes I explain how to make a colloquy, then I move onto my own experience of making a colloquy. Jesus's love is unreal. In reading The Interior Castle I've had the good (hard) realization of how far I have to go before I'm ready for sainthood. Honesty is good, but I've felt so frustrated with myself lately. You would never know it talking to mild-mannered Jamie Krakofsky that he grew up a hard partier in Ft. Lauderdale. Immersed in drugs, alcohol, women, and gang violence, he was thrown out of his dad's house at age 17. He tried living on his own but couldn't keep a job or an apartment. Exasperated, his mom challenged him to change his life. She put him on a plane to Bangor, Maine, with a bunch of camping gear and told him to hike the length of the 2,193-mile-long Appalachian Trail. Whatever he did, he was not to return to Florida. "She said, 'This is something that you need,'" Jamie recalled. But Jamie didn't realize how right his mom was until he reached the top of Mount Katahdin, the northern point of the Appalachian Trail, on his first day of the journey. "I just remember being up at the top of the mountain and just truly started having a conversation with God," Jamie said. The conversation lasted overnight and by time he was done with it, Jamie was feeling detoxed and refreshed. But he still had a long way to go. He didn't make it. Three and a half months into his adventure, he got injured. Obeying his mom's wish for him to keep out of Florida, he went to Colorado to stay with his mom's friends. The first week there, they decided to go camping. While up on Greenhorn Mountain, Jamie met his future wife, Bianca. Together, the two of them forged a new path. Jamie went into the military but had to take a medical discharge after eight years. He started in real estate and succeeded beyond his imagination. They also had three children — and they fostered 16 or 17 more. When their youngest child was 20 years old, the couple adopted a baby. "I'd like to think I've had an impact on a lot of people's lives," Jamie said. Jamie shared his incredible story in this week's episode of Chiseled. Usually, I am familiar with the facts of my guests' stories before they come on the show, but Jamie surprised me. I didn't know about all the parenting he has done, and I am truly inspired by the details he shared. If you're like me, his story will warm your heart and give you a spiritual lift. Want to talk to Jamie? You can find him anywhere on social media @jamie.krakofsky or go to the end of the episode to hear him share his phone number. Now, let's go get chiseled!
In preparation for the feast of the Ascension of Our Lord into Heaven, today's episode is pulled from In Conversation with God.
As we begin the month of May, the month traditionally dedicated to Our Lady, here is a passage from Volume II of In Conversation with God.
Humans were built for language and communication. It's one of the bits of creative genius God used when He formed His highest creation. And apart from regular communication, whether it's the written word or verbal, we have a great gift from a loving God: prayer. Prayer is an intensely personal way to communicate with our Creator, the One who knows everything about us. Jeremiah 29:12 says, “Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me and I will listen to you.” All through scripture, we see that God is available to us all the time. No regular hours or standing meetings. We can talk to Him anytime we want. There are 650 recorded prayers in the Bible, and we read about people praying while sitting, standing, kneeling, with faces to the ground or hands lifted up. By the way, Amen means “let it be,” or “so be it.” The word “prayer” appears for the first time in Numbers 5:22. Since prayers are human communication with God, we see that the first prayers were way back in Genesis 3 and 4 when Adam and Eve, and later Cain, talked with God. In the second exchange, even though Cain was angry and had just killed his brother, he was having a conversation with God. Jesus famously modeled prayer in Luke 11; and notice that He was talking to God the Father. It can be a fine line when thinking about how prayer is initiated. Often, thoughts come to our minds, or we're reminded to pray for someone. However, there's an indication that God prompts us to talk with Him. Galatians 4:6, that from our hearts we cry out, “Abba Father,” and that the indwelling spirit of the Lord prompts this in us. Of all the great gifts God has given us, prayer is one of the most special. It's how our spirits commune with the One who loves us with perfect love. And He's always ready and waiting to hear from us. Let's pray. Father God, we worship you for who you are. We love you, and thank you for loving us. Thank you for making a way for us to talk with you about the things that lie hidden in our hearts. In Jesus' name, amen. Wear it, then share it! Jen Weaver is no stranger to having hard conversations with God. After the loss of a baby, and undiagnosed fertility struggles, Jen found herself deep in grief and going “God-adjacent,” instead of running to Him with her heart and problems. It wasn't until she pivoted and chose to bring her heartbreak before the Lord in conversation, that she began to find healing. You know, sometimes we just don't want to talk to God, we'd rather run and hide instead, and sometimes we don't want to hear what God has to say… Yet, He faithfully stands ready to hold us and to hear our prayers. Because that's who He is. Join Jen and me on the podcast today as we talk about conversations with God and dive into questions like… “Where do I start in approaching God with a hard conversation?” “Does God even want to talk to me?” “How do I hear Him?” and “What if I don't hear Him?” I think you'll come out the other side ready to slip into a wonderful conversation with your Heavenly Father. Hello there, Gemma is speaking. When the weight of the world's suffering pressed heavily on my shoulders, a conversation with author Anikka McKeever shed light on a path through the darkness. Together, we journeyed into the tender and painful question of where the Divine resides when pain and injustice seem to reign, especially for the innocent ones among us. Our discussion took an illuminating turn as we engaged with spiritually elevated beings, who urge us to look within and grasp our role as architects of our existence. They implore us to recognize our power of free will and the solace found in the divine forgiveness offered through Jesus Christ's sacrifice, providing a fresh perspective on the role of a higher power in our lives. Navigating the complex terrain of belief and the presence of evil, we discovered a divine expression in the biblical story of Moses and the Burning Bush, which reveals God's timeless essence. Through personal narratives, including a heart-wrenching story of a young girl's abortion after repeated rape from her priest, we grappled with the deafening silence of God in moments of despair. This chapter of our lives illuminated the truth that such silence can be an invitation to grow, to deepen our trust in forgiveness, and to protect our spiritual well-being. We found gratitude for the chance to explore these spiritual pathways and share them with you, which has culminated in the anticipation for continued explorations into faith and the divine journey ahead. Emmanuel shares short inspirational messages and stories.
Prayer is a sacred conversation with God. It is a sacred dance, a holy communion between you and the divine Father, where words become weapons of power and authority. Words becomes thunders of arrows that pierce the atmosphere and establish barriers of divine help and the covering from the heavens. Know that in the whispers and mumbles of your heart, God hears you, even before you speak. Shabbat Shalom
