Listen on Podbean: http://inspiregodspeople.podbean.com/ Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/inspire-gods-people-the-podcast/id1438530566 Show Notes Why Jesus didnt seek Fame (Don't Make Jesus Famous ...or making Jesus Famous) I think to understand this we have to explore our relationships with celebrities Had Jesus sought after fame he wouldve became a celebrity figure Pscyhologically being a celebrity impacts your relationships with people and how they react to you Jesus was with the people....many of the Biblical interactions....woman at the well....woman who touches the hem of his garment....man healed at the gates... These are personal interations....not an event....not a meet and greet after a concert....but a real life unscripted occassion...someone having an experience with Jesus...where he listened to them....spoke to their specific needs...where he knew them Our relationships with celebrities are much different...we scream out..."i love you" and they screm back "i love you too" but we all know that u fit in a category of "fan" for them...they dont really know you... A celebrity doesnt doesnt take interest in who you really are... You have established a Parasocial relationship with them...a one sided relationship where u know everything about them...fav colors....kids names....u literally love them because u think u know them...meanwhile they dont even know u exist on this earth Meanwhile Jesus sought to have a real relationship....he wanted people to know that he knew them and wanted them to know him....he asked questions to his disciples like...who do you say that I am?.... Jesus wanted them to know him for who he really was....not just the figure that was gaining popularity... Although he would become famous...he never bought into the celebrity...we never read where he spruced up his image to gain the interest of the masses....where he showed up as the star of the show...the crazy thing is that he was the star....he was literally God that we should worship....and yet God had humility... God came in on a donkey....he didnt want the flash of the limelight because he was here for relationship and God knew that if he established himself as a celebrity it would be self fulfilling... He didnt come here for himself because he was already whole...he came here for the people....and needed the people to eatablish real relationship

The writer Darius James explores the terrain where art meets spirit, at the Crossroads where the full range of energies are present. In 1992, Darius published the novel, Negrophobia -- a caustic, hallucinatory, knife blade of a book that was probably about a quarter century ahead of its time. Punk novelist Kathy Acker called him a genius. The novel is being re-released in a new edition by the New York Review of Books, and has been getting high profile recognition as a classic of American satire. In more recent years, Darius had his own awakening experience, which he discusses with Ken. His insights about the connection between creativity and spirituality are so smart and provocative, they'll get you thinking. Ballet Cymru have perhaps one of the most inspiring stories of grit and perseverance in the entire landscape of Welsh arts, if not in the whole of the UK. Over thirty years old, run for much of that time as a passion project by founder Darius James and a very small band of itinerant artists, in the last couple of years they have made a new home for themselves in a very impressive studio building on the outskirts of Newport. They have now a national reputation, and it’s one for subverting expectations, of being rooted in, perhaps surprisingly, a working-class ethic. They now have a strong CV of innovative work, eye-catching collaborations with the likes of Cerys Matthews, Georgia Ruth and Catrin Finch, and guest choreographers, not least Tim Podesta who is about to unveil his Shadow Aspect starring principle dancer of the Royal Ballet Mara Galeazzi. Gary Raymond met with Darius James and his Assistant Artistic Director and partner Amy Doughty to talk about Shadow Aspect, about the history of Ballet Cymru, that amazing journey, and about all of the amazing ways they give things back to the community.
