Well if there is one thing we learned from Jeffrey Goldberg's sensationalized story in The Atlantic is that this trump team is unified and working as a team. How Goldberg got into the chat is still tbd, but let's be honest fist emojis and calling out Europe for not pulling its weight is not top secret as Goldberg implied. Die Demokratinnen und Demokraten im Kongress protestierten mit Schildern, auf denen beispielsweise stand: “This is not normal.” “Flood the zone”, nach diesem Prinzip verfährt die Trump-Administration. Es geht dabei um die komplette Überlastung des Systems mit politischen Entscheidungen und Nachrichten und dieser Zustand überfordert sowohl amerikanische Bürgerinnen und Bürger als auch die Medien und Gerichte. In den ersten Wochen seiner Präsidentschaft hat Donald Trump nämlich sehr vieles angeordnet: Er hat den Notstand an der Grenze zu Mexiko ausgerufen und dort das Militär eingesetzt, ist aus dem Pariser Klimaabkommen und der WHO ausgetreten, will das Staatsbürgerschaftsprinzip der USA verändern und hat Trans-Athletinnen vom Frauensport ausgeschlossen. Zuletzt verkündete er zwei Entscheidungen von massiver Tragweite: Er setzte die Militärhilfen für die Ukraine im Wert von über einer Milliarde US-Dollar vorerst aus und führte Einfuhrzölle von 25 Prozent für alle Produkte aus Kanada und Mexiko ein. Trumps Entscheidungen haben für die Menschen im Land gravierende Folgen und sorgen zugleich international für Erschütterung. Kate Ashbrook is an author and has been the general secretary of the Open Spaces Society for 40 years and counting, but she is first and foremost, a campaigner.On this week's HortWeek Podcast she recounts some of the best changes she has seen during her tenure - "the greater awareness of the importance of open spaces for the public and the greater awareness among the public of the importance to them of open spaces, paths, getting out there, enjoying the countryside and green spaces in towns.And the worst... "After 40 years, open spaces, commons and paths are still very much under threat. We haven't made that step change, which means that governments, local authorities recognise that actually open spaces and paths are so important that we need to invest in them fully. They may say they're important, but they don't actually put the money and the resources in."Current focuses include closing the "green space gap" in the current National Planning Policy Framework:"We don't see in the consultation, governments giving prime importance to green spaces. We think they should be at the core of all planning policies, thinking about the wider public and what people need and then framing the development around that... we shall be making suggestions of how government can give greater priority to green spaces." Januar 2021 kommen könnte, sollte Trump die Wahl nicht gewinnen. „64 Prozent der Wahlleiter haben angeben, sie würden sich persönlich drangsaliert, persönlich verfolgt fühlen“, sagt die Senior Advisorin der Bertelsmann-Stiftung, Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, im Gespräch mit Helene Bubrowski. In der Ampel prallen die wirtschaftspolitischen Vorstellungen ein Jahr vor der Wahl frontal aufeinander. Robert Habeck begründete sein „Impulspapier“, das mithilfe eines Staatsfonds eine neue Dynamik bei den Unternehmen entfachen soll, mit veränderten Realitäten.
