NDA BOOKS @academicfraud @nda.books is the newest and worst magazine to come out of the explosion of downtown NYC magazines around dimes square. A carbon copy of Adam Lehrer's failed IM Publishing and many others, its all about twitter, internet schitzos and the ever popular "florida man" jimmy buffett shit every mid publisher is doing. GOSSIP AROUND TOWN is failed poet Billy Pedlow from The Sovereign House is trying to dump his twice delayed book "Terrorizing the Virgin" on them. Sad.
In August of 2022 we fired Juliana Nalerio from our show. She demanded we remove her episodes. We declined. So Julie Nalerio used her Stanford connections, Adam Lehrer and Gagosian Gallery in a 15 month stalking spree in an attempt to destroy the women in our lives. Sounds illegal right? Mental health issues and violence against women with Juliana Nalerio from City College and Stanford University.

One of the greatest American film artists, William Friedkin, has passed away at the age of 87. The son of Ukrainian Jewish immigrant parents (who fled their country after the antisemitic pogroms of the early 20th Century), Friedkin was a shitty student and a great basketball player until he discovered cinema in the '60s. He then rose from a Hollywood journeyman doing shitty films for studios until it all came together with The French Connection and the greatest horror film of all time in The Exorcist. Friedkin would evolve from being the most celebrated auteur in America, to a scrappy indie arthouse director who warred with studios with financing, to an even scrappier arthouse auteur adapting transgressive plays in his later life. What. A. Fucking. Career. To discuss his entire oeuvre, Adam brings on his friends and former guests: artist Benjamin Kellogg and artist and filmmaker (and director of the Botched Chadification Masculinity Under Threat music video.) Adam Lehrer is a writer and an artist living in New York. He is the founder and co-host of the System of Systems podcast, and the founder and curator of the Safety Propaganda collaborative media platform. Communions is Adam's debut book - out now from Hyperidean Press. Communions: Channeling hallucinated versions of dead artists and junkies, these fragments access the uncanny allure of shared experience. Elements of speculative fiction, criticism and encrypted auto-biography merge to form a disconcerting portrait of the artist as addict. Neither denunciation nor valorization, Communions is an attempt to probe the haunting singularity of opiate addiction and its ineradicable influence on art and culture. As a writer, Lehrer covers topics such as contemporary art, horror fiction, noise and experimental music, cinema, and left politics. David and I talk about the Truman Show in the intro. [This episode contains explicit content.] Artists from Kurt Cobain to Amy Winehouse command fascination not only for their work but also for their drug addictions and the manner of their death. Communions is an attempt to understand the role that opiates play in the artistic lives of those who are gripped by addiction. Channeling hallucinated versions of dead artists and junkies, these fragments access the uncanny allure of shared experience. Elements of speculative fiction, criticism and encrypted auto-biography merge to form a disconcerting portrait of the artist as addict. Neither denunciation nor valorization, Communions probes the haunting singularity of opiate addiction and its ineradicable influence on art and culture. Adam Lehrer speaks to Pierre d'Alancaisez about addiction and class, our fetish for the artist flirting with death, communing with his heroes, his experience of the opioid crisis, and the role for art criticism in unraveling these issues. Lehrer reads a chapter on Darby Crash from Communions. Adam Lehrer is a writer and art critic, but he's also a former heroin addict himself. He blogs at Safety Propaganda. In this exclusive interview, Adam talks to California-based artist Marc Horowitz (husband to previous guest Petra Collins, a kind of full circle) to talk about his career and his life. Marc grew up "poor as fuck" in Middle America before moving to California to get a degree in business. One thing leading to the next, Marc eventually transitioned to being an artist after taking a painting class during his senior year. The first half of his career saw Marc staging elaborate conceptual projects that forced the art world to confront its own financial and cultural contradictions. But at some point, painting called him back. Since then, Marc has developed his own singular aesthetic in painting that blends modernist history with pop cultural tropes. He's also a rad dude and a good gossip, so enjoy! Marc has a book coming out in the Fall, which will include a text written by your faithful host Adam Lehrer. This difficult question is analyzed and answered with the help of Jungian memetics expert Chris Gabriel ( MemeAnalysis on youtube) and art critic/writer antagonist Adam Lehrer. We dive into synchronicities, vibes, randonautica adventures, alchemy, anime girlfriends, ghosts, apophenia, Jack Parsons, Bataille, luxury, collective-unconscious, and play a game where Chris throws out random words and asks us if they vibe or not.
