Hello to my friends, family, and audience in America, India, and abroad please stay tuned for a wonderful and eye-opening political discussion from a very involved political organizer who I worked with in the Movement for a People's Party in Georgia. If you enjoyed this podcast please take a look into my podcast on several platforms called “India Insight with Sunny Sharma.” I will be posting this discussion to that podcast as well as my YouTube channel“SunnySharma@IndiaInsightMovement.” David Meadows is my guest: he was a phone banker for Bernie Sanders, was the head organizer for the Movement for a People's Party's Georgia Chapter, and subsequently worked as an organizer to petition to get Dr. Cornell West on the ballot in Georgia for the 2024 presidential election. We discuss the role and relationship of government with mediating institutions and how this effects freedom of speech especially protesting as well as a host of other political issues such as the relevance and place of different political parties including the Democrats. We also discuss the need for a united left, the potential space for a new party to galvanize the public behind a leader and a set of issues, the importance of trade unions to remain independent and democratic, and heeding the warnings of Ralph Nader concerning how we use language such as tackling corporatism rather than capitalism and being precise about how we talk about the left and a new coalition to offer a public policy agenda to tackle the myriad of problems our society faces. Although we differ slightly on our perspective of the democrat party (he feels they have lost track of their message and role as a party of the working class and I support them and feel they still can and will be reformed and reoriented in their stance with enough leadership and imagination) this was a very fruitful discussion where I learned a whole lot from David's organizing and political education experience. We conclude that we need both grassroots reform and politicians in power to foster meaningful change and reform in Washington and locally in the communities of American citizens. I hope this discussion is just as elucidating for you as it was for me.

On the latest wine pod I interview Dr. David Meadows about his company PureWine Inc. There products help alleviate wine allergies & wine headaches (Hangovers). I tried their products after heroically consuming 26 ounces of wine and the next day no headache. This interview is all about science, wine allergies and trying to find a way for everyone to enjoy wine. Note: This ain’t no infomercial. I would never release the interview if Meadows’ product did not work on me.

Today I sit down with David Meadows, entrepreneur and founder of Pure Wine. Many people are unable to enjoy wine as they have adverse reactions to it. Some of these intolerance include headaches, congestion, skin flush and hangovers. Although I am not a believer that sulfites are a cause for these reactions, I will admit that histamines in wine can cause these reactions to a select population of consumers. During the conversation, we do get a bit geeky- heck, you know that is going to happen when you get two scientists together, but we break down the science so that it isn’t so intimidating as to how histamines effect people. To learn more about Pure wine, visit their website at www.drinkpurewine.com I hope you enjoy the conversation and learn a bit about how your body works. During the conversation, David has several visuals to aid in his explanation. Question: What do you get when you cross patriotism with selflessness, layer in some Shakespeare, and pile on the talent and snark? Answer: David Meadows David Meadows is quick to point out that he’s not sure he would have joined the military after 9/11, but one gets the sense he would still have been first in line. As it was, David had been in the Navy for about a year before that tragic day. He’d fallen short of passing SEAL training once but returned after 9/11. This time he left with a trident. More interested in intelligence gathering and “stalking,” as he jokes, than in door-kicking and room-clearing, David ultimately wound up doing reconnaissance work with the infamous SEAL Team 6. He then became well-acquainted with Afghanistan. In his line of work, David didn’t often have the opportunity to interact with the locals. Given the fact that the ones he did interact with were typically trying to kill him, he simply wrote the entire society off, assuming they all hated Americans. It was very easy to disassociate yourself,” he says. But that mindset changed on one mission. Read the full article, watch the video, and more here
