In this episode, Dr. Stuart Slavin welcomes Dr. Daniel Saddawi‑Konefka, associate professor of anesthesia at Harvard Medical School and co-founder of the Emotional PPE Project, for a thoughtful conversation on improving access to mental health care for health care professionals. Dr. Saddawi‑Konefka shares the origins of the Emotional PPE Project, created during the COVID‑19 pandemic to connect clinicians with free, confidential, and accessible mental health support, and outlines its dual focus on immediate care and long‑term cultural change. What can a cheetah and a rescue dog teach us about trust, friendship, and belonging? In this episode, Tricia Friedman sits down with bestselling author Jasmine Warga to talk about her newest book and the powerful themes at its heart: vulnerability, unlikely friendships, and the courage it takes to let someone truly see you. Inspired by a real program in zoos where rescue dogs are paired with anxious cheetahs, Warga's story explores how connection can help both animals—and humans—feel less alone. Through the voices of a cheetah and a dog, the book opens up conversations about anxiety, trust, identity, and the universal desire to belong. Together, Tricia and Jasmine explore how storytelling helps young readers navigate big emotions, why animals can sometimes say things humans cannot, and how asking questions—rather than providing answers—is often the most powerful way to write for young people. They also go behind the scenes of Warga's writing process, from messy notebooks and long walks to the surprising freedom of writing a "zero draft." This conversation is a powerful reminder that the stories we share with young readers can help build empathy, connection, and community.
In this episode, Dr. Stuart Slavin is joined by Melanie Pigott, the residency coordinator of the emergency medicine program at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Cindy Thompson, a senior program administrator for the orthopaedic surgery program at West Virginia University, for a focused conversation on program coordinator well‑being in graduate medical education. Program coordinators play a vital role in GME programs, yet their roles have become increasingly complex, demanding, and pressured—often with little margin for rest or recovery. Drawing on their years of experience and leadership on the ACGME's Coordinator Advisory Group, Pigott and Thompson reflect on the realities of the role and share practical, experience‑based strategies to reduce stress and sustain fulfillment. The conversation explores key drivers of coordinator well‑being, including managing workload through clear expectations and communication, improving efficiency through automation and shared resources, navigating hybrid and flexible work arrangements, and coping with the constant pressure of year‑round deadlines and evolving responsibilities. Throughout the discussion, the speakers emphasize the importance of professional community, peer support, self‑compassion, and giving oneself grace in a role defined by high standards and service to others. This episode launches a new series dedicated to supporting program coordinators and offers valuable insights for coordinators, program leaders, and institutions seeking to create healthier, more sustainable working environments for those who support medical learners every day. Gravity - The Digital Agency Power Up : Weekly shows for digital marketing agency owners.
It's a situation many of us face-the moment success is no longer enough. You might be in a career crisis, feeling unfulfilled despite your achievements, or leading a business that has lost its direction. This is what my guest, Ingo Rauth, calls the "purpose turn."For experts and entrepreneurs, whose identities are so closely tied to our work, this moment can be unsettling. We often scramble for the next project or opportunity without pausing to ask the most important question: What do I truly want?In this conversation, Ingo and I explore how to navigate these critical transitions. We discuss why looking inward to understand your core values is the essential first step before looking outward for opportunities. Here are three key areas we explored:
In this episode, Dr. Stuart Slavin speaks with Dr. Greg Guldner, director of GME Well-Being and assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education at Loma Linda University Health. They discuss how self-determination theory (SDT)—the most widely researched framework for understanding human motivation—can guide meaningful, system-level change in medical education and training. Dr. Guldner explains how autonomy, belonging, competence, and deep meaning (the "ABCDs" of well-being) form the foundation for a healthier workplace culture. Through practical examples and data-driven outcomes, he illustrates how leaders can redesign environments, policies, and interactions to enhance connection, motivation, and fulfillment for both residents and faculty members, creating conditions where everyone can truly thrive in their work. This could be one of the, if not the, most under realized opportunities in commercial real estate. It's a blue ocean market operating in a boring business space that most investors (and service providers) are completely overlooking. But, Jake Guso tapped into what no other real estate investor knew about industrial outdoor storage management, specifically truck parking lot businesses. These mom-and-pop shops are running almost entirely on handwritten notes and Zelle payments and it's an absolute mess for owners and their accountants. After managing multiple truck parking lot businesses himself, Jake built Rig Hut, the software platform that turns dirt lots into cash flow. So much so that, in one case study, Jake helped an owner increase his annual revenue by as much as six figures. Today, I'm sitting down with Jake to talk about how Rig Hut is industrializing truck parking, how investors can get into the game themselves (and make serious money), the shocking "11-to-1" statistic that would make any investor excited, and how this forgotten asset class is only one of many in the CRE space. Plus, I'll even share my exact strategy for finding deals like this in any area of the country. _______ Connect with Jake on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jake-guso-16bb167a/ Rig Hut: https://www.therighut.com/ Rig Hut Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100084019464551 Rig Hut Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/therighut Rig Hut TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@righuttruckparking Rig Hut X/Twitter: https://x.com/truckpark_king Sunrise Capital Case Studies: https://sunrisecapitalinvestors.com/case-studies/

The overzealous charismatic community often embraces the law of attraction incantations, unintentionally and intentionally! Sadly, "decree and declare" statements are twisted, and many believe that speaking positive affirmations into existence can manifest desired outcomes. Is this practice truly biblical, or does it lead Christians down a dangerous path of deception? Let's examine and debunk the numerous misused Scriptures (Matthew 7:7-8, Mark 11:23-24, Job 22:28) that many fall for in the body of Christ.
