World 50 CEO David Wilkie joins the pod this week to share insights on his exclusive company, discuss the power of peer networks, and how alignment of purpose, trust, curiosity, and diversity of thought promote growth. As CEO of World 50, David is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and development of the company. David joined the company 17 years ago, and has been CEO of World 50 for the last 11 years. Founded in 2004, World 50 consists of private peer communities that enable board directors, CEOs and C-level executives at globally respected organizations to discover better ideas, share valuable experiences and build relationships that make a lasting impact. The executive network has grown to incorporate G100, a peer learning, development and networking community for the world's top-performing companies and their leaders. Working with more than 3,000 leaders globally, World 50 serves more than 1,100 companies across more than 30 countries on six continents. Prior to joining World 50, Wilkie held several roles at Hess Corporation, including president of Hess Microgen and vice president of marketing and business development. He earned his Master in Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida. Brought to you by Mekanism
This edition of the podcast is dedicated to Katie Coxall, a bold, daring, brilliant artist and friend of ours who lost her battle with cancer earlier this week. She will be much missed and fondly remembered in equal measure. On this week's This Is Our Everest, Edward and Ian have been watching one of the first Channel 4 programmes, Splash! with David Wilkie from 1982, an intermediate-level instructional television programme about swimming that (seemingly) also dabbles in inadvertent softcore pornography.Indeed, your intrepid heroes aren't particularly interested by any of the swimming content on display, giving at least equal billing to subjects like male pattern baldness and the evolution of an accidental combover, the danger of using electronic equipment near bodies of open water, the importance of putting children in their place and pre- and post-pandemic boner etiquette. The panel are dismissive of David's special guest, darkly suggesting that ulterior motives unconnected to swimming were largely responsible to their star status while a far more qualified expert is relegated to a few desultory widths at the end. There's also news of the Top of the Pops motherlode, our ongoing admiration for Bananarama and a largely tangental tale of taking a Swedish woman out to see an elderly soul legend live in concert. If you would like to watch this episode of Splash! you can find it here. There’s a bunch of different ways in which you can subscribe to the 200% podcast. You can do so through Spotify, which you can find right here, whilst the podcast RSS feed is here and you can subscribe through Itunes here. And finally, a humble request. These podcasts take a lot of effort to write, record and release, and we would be extremely grateful for your financial support, in whatever way you can manage. We have our Redbubble shop, for the sartorially minded amongst you, and subscribe through joining us on Patreon. We even now have a Kofi button on the site, so do feel free to send us whatever you’re able to. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

When you think of sports and the state of Nebraska, Cornhuskers football and the College World Series are usually the first things that come to mind. But thanks in part to current Omaha Lancers head coach David Wilkie, you can now add growing pipeline for ice hockey players to that list. There are few people as deep rooted in Omaha hockey as Wilkie. Prior to his three seasons with the Lancers in the USHL, he guided the Omaha AAA Hockey Association for seven seasons as their Director of Hockey Operations. He coached the program’s U16 and U18 teams to 34 major championships, bringing the program to national prominence. During that time, the program produced 92 junior hockey players, 44 NCAA Division 1 commitments and four NHL drafted players. Included in that list is his son Chris Wilkie, who finished this season second in goals in the NCAA as a senior forward for Colorado College. As a player, Wilkie was a first-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens and would go on to play 167 NHL games. He also represented Team USA at two World Junior Championships. Wilkie's transition to coaching would come during the 2001-02 season, as a player-coach for the ECHL’s Augusta Lynx. He would later spend one season as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Find out about the challenges that come with coaching in a non-traditional market, his unique mentorship from coaching legend Scotty Bowman, and how the USHL supports the development of world class coaches in this week's Glass and Out Podcast!

Thursday March 16th Noon CDT on EQUESTRIAN LEGACY RADIO with host Gary Holt and Jennifer Denison Our special guest on the CAMPFIRE CAFE' are David Wilkie and Denise Withnell of the Award Winning group, Cowboy Celtic. David, the founder of Cowboy Celtic, has been tracking down the roots of cowboy music all the way to the Celtic isles for more than a decade. As Wilkie has discovered, the cattle industry has been going on in Scotland and Ireland for hundreds of years, and cattlemen from Ireland and Scotland brought their culture and musical traditions with them when they moved to North America. The music of Cowboy Celtic demonstrates that those traditions live on in the cowboy songs of today. Cowboy Celtic, centered in Turner Valley, Alberta, includes David on mandolin and vocals, Denise on guitar and vocals, Keri Lynn Zwicker on harp and vocals, and Joseph Hertz on fiddle. Their second CD, “Cowboy Ceilidh,” won the National Cowboy Hall of Fame Wrangler Award for Outstanding Traditional Western Music Album in 1999. They were the first Canadians to ever win this award. “This is more than music. It's theatre and imagery and history and storytelling and more, all wrapped up in sagebrush and tartan.” We're pleased to welcome Denise Withnell and David Wilkie to the CAMPFIRE CAFE' Get Ready for the Ride as we Saddle Up with Tootie Bland, Owner & Producer of ROAD TO THE HORSE, on SADDLE UP AMERICA!
