Shelley and I were fortunate enough to travel to Portugal this summer and returned with an awesome card game that's well worth hunting for Café by Rôla and Costa from Pythagoras Games and then we pull a favorite HEAVY game off the shelf designed by two Portuguese friends whom we had the great fortune of spending time with Nippon by Nuno Bizarro Sentieiro and Paulo Soledade from What's Your Game along with its small expansion Nippon: Keiretsu
Shelley and I get a chance to play a cool new forthcoming game from Mebo Games Lisbon Tram 28 by Pedro Santos Silva then we pull a classic of camel caravan building to which we have referred often Through The Desert by Reiner Knizia from Kosmos, Fantasy Flight Games, and Z-Man Games
Shelley and I compete to build our zoos the fastest in New York Zoo by Uwe Rosenberg from Feuerland Spiele and Capstone Games then we head Down Under to check out new birds and interesting modifications to rules in Wingspan: Oceania Expansion by Elizabeth Hargrave from Stonemaier Games
Shelley and I check out a "new to us" game from BGG's store: Legacy - The Testament of Duke de Crecy by Michiel Justin Elliott Hendriks from Portal Games, IELLO and Pegasus Spiele then we do a re-review of another Feldian classic In The Year of the Dragon by Stefan Feld from alea, Ravensburger, and Rio Grande Games
Shelley and I head to Mars to mine for riches in Mining Colony by Steve Finn from Dr. Finn's Games and then head to Medieval France to make our fortunes and deal with rats as we re-review Notre Dame by Stefan Feld from alea, Ravensburger and Rio Grande
Shelley and I create towers with our hands of card in Sky Towers by Charles Ward from Ex1st Games and then build different colored subway lines to manipulate how people travel around London in On The Underground by Sebastian Bleasdale - originally published by JKLM and Rio Grande Game, but picked up in 2019 by Ludicreations
Shelley and I capture animals and attempt to gain a foothold on the mountain in Nanga Parbat by Steve Finn from Dr. Finn's Games then we reflect on an older titles as we sail to gather spices and attempt to overcome some luck in 2004's Goa by Rudiger Dorn from Rio Grande Games and Hans Im Gluck.
Shelley and I capture, then deliver butterflies to beautiful outdoor spaces in Butterfly Garden by Steve Finn from Dr. Finn's Games then head to ancient Rome to get our mancala mechanism in play as we build and conquer in Trajan by Stephan Feld from Ammonit Spiele, as well as Huch and Renegade Game Studios.
Shelley andI roll dice to collect books, travel as a novice, develop influence, and then spend it in Biblios - Quill and Parchment by Steve Finn from Dr. Finn's Games then we head back further in time to develop our lands and gain resources in Lions of Lydia by Jonny Pac from Bellwether Games
Shelley and I pick food mancala-style in Fruit Picking by Jun-ichi Shinde from Korea Board Games and then race from our jobs and try to get as happy as possible in Finishing Time/Feierabend by Friedemann Friese from 2F Spiele and Boardgamegeek.
Shelley and I check out both Whale Riders (the board game) by Reiner Knizia from Grail Games and its smaller cousin withmore of a publishing history Whale Riders The Card Game by Reiner Knizia from Grail Games
Shelley and I try another variation of drawing polyominoes in Patchwork Doodle by Uwe Rosenberg from Lookout Games then spin a HUGE 4-story pagoda to obtain resources and build our tableaus of gardens in Four Gardens by Martin Dolezal from Korea Boardgames Ltd.
Shelley and I check out version #4 of a Knizia classic Medici: The Dice Game by Reiner Knizia from Grail Games and then head to Africa with a bit of problematic theming but a great game to re-review in Mombasa by Alexander Pfister from R&R Games
Shelley and I search for clues into the existence of cryptozoological creatures in Evidence by Orestis Liontaritis from Pegasus Spiele and Edition Spielwiese then we head back in time to Emperor Hadrian's rule and work to build his famous wall in Britain to keep the Picts at bay in Hadrian's Wall by Bobby Hill from Garphill Games and Renegade Game Design
Shelley and I journey first to the City of Light for a re-review of the now more readily available Paris - La Cité de la Lumière by Jose Antonio Abascal Acebo from Devir and Kosmos then we trek to the mountains to press our luck as we climb 7 Summits by Daryl Andrews and Adrian Adamescu from Deep Water Games
Shelley and I check out a couple of art-themed games, one which we enjoy, and another which might have benefitted from some more development. Starving Artists by Mike Wokasch from Deep Water Games, Fairway 3 Games and Zafty and Fresco (with many of its expansions) by Marco Ruskowski and Marcel Sußelback from Queen Games
Shelley and I work to entice good workers to our respective kingdoms in Majesty - For The Realm by Marc André from Z-Man and Hans im Glück then wend our way through a post-apocalyptic world with our dirigibles and drones in CloudAge by Alexander Pfister and Arno Steinwender from dlp Games
Shelley and I gather gorgeous food and beverages in the quick Space Lunch by Simona Greco and Marco Rava with art by Natalie Dombois from ThunderGryph Games then we build train routes through the US and Europe and purchase shares in various train companies in Mini Express by Mark Gerrits from Moaideas Game Design
Shelley and I draft hats and manipulate their values in order to attend the Mad Hatter's party in Hats by Gabriele Bubola from ThunderGryph Games then we drain swamps, work the fields and build roads and other structures in Faiyum by Friedemann Friese from BoardGameGeek and 2FSpiele
Shelley and I paint cool layered pictures in Canvas by Jeffrey Chin and Andrew Nerger (with art by Luan Huynh) from Road To Infamy Games Then we travel through the circular realm gathering goods, constructing buildings, obtaining manuscripts and venturing to the castle in Viscounts of the West Kingdom by Shem Phillips and SJ Macdonald from Garphill Games
Shelley and I build and improve our towns through resource collection and farming in Hallertau by Uwe Rosenberg from Lookout Games and then work hard at dice drafting and novice assigning in Monasterium by Arve D. Fühler from dlp Games
Shelley and I journey along the Silk Road in Merv: The Heart of the Silk Road by Fabio Lopiano from Osprey Games then we roll & write in a fantasy landscape in Pandoria Merchants by Jeffrey D. Allers and Bernd Eisenstein from Iron Games

Shelley and I head all the way back to 2006 to enlist dragons and build fantasy buildings to gain crystals for offerings in Blue Moon City by Reiner Knizia from Fantasy Flight Games then work together to run from an erupting volcano and escape from Red Peak by Carlo A. Rossi from Ravensburger
Shelley and I build cool, 3-D towers and bridges in Cloud City by Phil Walker-Harding from Blue Orange Games then have a fantastic time building metro route for our cool train car and awesome meeples in Maglev Metro by Ted Alspach from Bezier Games
Shelley and I head to the Ganges river valley once again to check out a bunch of expansions that come in TWO Goodie Boxes for Rajas of the Ganges by Inka and Markus Brand from R&R Games then we draft dice and attempt to save important valuables from the sinking city of Atlantis in Atlandice by Shaun Graham and Scott Huntington from Ludonaute
Shelley and I work with our nobles and farmers to establish dominance in Babylonia by Reinder Knizia from Ludo Nova then build different aspects of 6 cities in Flanders to gain majorities in Flandern 1302 by Wolfgang Panning from Queen Games
Shelley and I spend some time hiking through and camping in our National Parks in PARKS & PARKS Nightfall Expansion by Henry Audubon from Keymaster Games then we try to tap into our memories about those parks in PARKS Memories by Kyle Key from Keymaster Games after which we head to Europe to build post offices in Thurn & Taxis, with its Power & Glory, All Roads Lead to Rome, and The Princess's Courier expansions by Karen & Andreas Seyfarth from Rio Grande Games
Shelley and I check out yet another variation on a Knizia classic in Lost Cities: Auf Schatzsuche by Reiner Knizia and from KOSMOS then we bring another heavy weight to the table, enlisting our workers and priests to direct our work in Tawantinsuyu: The Inca Empire by David Turczi from Board&Dice
Shelley and I collect pollen with our awesome 3-D bees in Beez by Dan Halstad from Next Move Games then we draft dice from around a 3-D obelisk, trying desperately to balance our pure & tainted dice and appease the gods in Tekhenu by Daniele Tascini and David Turczi from Board&Dice
Shelley and I fly our different sized dirigibles to gather resources and create machines and scaffolding to build a train trestle in Whistle Mountain by Scott Caputo and Luke Laurie from Bezier Games then we compete to gain the most prestige as we build some of the towers of Moscow's Red Cathedral by Sheila Santos and Israel Cendrero from Devir
Shelley and I compete to construct the best buildings and take advantage of their resources, while feeding our people in Little Town by Shun and Aya Taguchi from Iello Then we find our way onto the Island of Arnak, exploring its treasures and trying to find advantages as we overcome fear in Los Ruins of Arnak by Elwin and Mín from Czech Games Edition We also mention Shun Taguchi's previous title King of Frontier and how both it and Little Town Builders were picked up by bigger publishers as Little Town (above) and Queen's Skylands (remake of King of Frontier).
Shelley and I attempt to get rid of all of the cyclists in our hands in Trimau: Grand Tour by Takahiro Amioka from KogeKogeDo then delve deeply into the world of gnomes and Guardians as we try to light the long-dormant fires of Bonfire by Stefan Feld from Hall Games and Pegasus Spiele
Shelley and I explore space and establish diplomatic ties with various planets in Sovereign Skies by Aaron Andrew Wilson from Deep Water Games then we compete to be the best robber of the rich in Robin of Locksley: Contest of Thieves by Uwe Rosenberg from Wyrmgold and Rio Grande Games
Shelley and I build and then obtain businesses in Paris to gain prestige through our ownership in Paris by Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling from GameBrewer and the we build cart routes through the Golden Age of Amsterdam in Ticket to Ride Amsterdam by Alan R. Moon from Days of Wonder

Shelley and I work at building our respective modular-board regions with various hex-tile buildings in Castles of Tuscany by Stefan Feld from alea then we attempt to build up both our wealth and fame (until they cross in Rajas of the Ganges: The Dice Charmers by Inka and Markus Brand from R&R Games
Shelley and I spend some time building our webs of power in Iwari (The Deluxe Edition) by Michael Schacht from ThunderrGryph Games then capture and transport polyomino cats in our respective boast in The Isle of Cats by Frank West from The City of Games
Shelley and I work hard to get our villages cleared of werewolves in Silver Dagger by Ted Alspach from Bezier Games and then we wander the world checking out various sites and collecting touristy trinkets in Trekking the World by Charlie Bink from Underdog Games
Shelley and I get Hadara off the shelf once again to discuss playing it with its expansion: Hadara: Marketplaces and Monuments by Benjamin Schwer and from Hans im Glück then we take a spin with the newest version of Hansa, now with steampunk aspects and called Traders of the Air by Michael Schacht from Compass Games
Shelley and I spend some time developing route around the house in Ticket to Ride: Stay at Home (Print & Play) from Alan R. Moon and Days of Wonder then we develop airline routes around the world in Pan Am by Prospero Hall from Funko Games
Shelley and I head back to the Middle Ages for both of this week's games, manipulating multi-use cards to draft workers and citizens and build our village in Tybor the Builder by Dennis Rappel and Alexander Pfister from Mayfair and Lookout Games then we compete to elicit the services of many different experts for our strongholds in Medieval Realms by Carlos Michán Amado from Los Games Entertainment Ltd.
Shelley and I talk about THREE games in this quick episode, and sadly we can't really recommend any of them: First we tried out the 2-player only Fluttering Souls by Joel Lewis from Good Games Publishing next we attempted to collect "dream shards" and build them into proper dreams in Dreamscape by David Ausloos and Pierre Steenebruggen from Sylex Finally, it seems that Terraforming Mars, one of our favorite games, has jumped the shark a bit with the Turmoil Expansion by Jacob Fryxelius from Stronghold Games
Shelley and are delivering stuff this week, using trains to deliver a bunch of materials in Grand Trunk Journey by Claude Sirois from Spielworxx then using carts to deliver kegs of beer in Heaven & Ale + the Kegs and More Expansion by Michael Kiesling and Andreas Schmidt from eggertspiele

This week Shelley and I add and modify the HEAVY 2018 title Teotihuacan: City of Gods by Daniele Tascini from NSKN and Board&Dice by adding most of the expansions that come in 2019's Teotihuacan: Late Preclassic Period Expansion by Tascini, Rainer Ahlfors, and Andrei Novac Then we race to build our factory towns in Fantastic Factories by Joseph Z Chen and Justin Faulkner from Metafactory Games and Deep Water Games
Shelley and I get out the much-discussed Welcome To... by Benoit Turpin to the table once again with most recent Easter and Quack expansions Then we check out the brand new stand-alone version Welcome To New Las Vegas by Benoit Turpin and Alexis Allard, both from Blue Cocker and Deep Water Games
Shelley and I tackle two Kickstarter games in odd-shaped boxes; first we create our own towns in Villagers by Haakon Gaarder from Sinister Fish and then we take the band On Tour by Chad DeShon from BoardGameTables.com
Shelley and I head to Japan to build different colored pagodas in Tajuto by Reiner Knizia from Super Meeple and Abacusspiele then we head to a world of wonderful trains that move the tourists and workers throughout different networks in Traintopia by Przemek Wojtkowiak from Board&Dice
