Friedemann Friese ist seit über 30 Jahren eine feste Größe in der Brettspielszene. 1992 ist mit “Wucherer” im Eigenverlag gestartet und seither ist er nicht nur bekannt du Spieletitel mit “F” und einer Vorliebe für die Farbe grün, sondern vor allem auch durch ungewöhnliche Spielmechaniken. Selten wird hier der “Mainstream” bedient, sondern Wege gesucht, wie man interessante Spielerfahrungen schaffen kann. Spiele aus dem Hause 2F haben ganz bewusst Ecken und Kanten und manch einer mag sich hin und wieder auch daran stoßen, aber gerade solche Spiele können neue Erfahrungen schaffen. This week Julius and I talk more about games that aren't games.  I bought two new Mazescape mazes, published by Devir games.  These are fun little mazes that required folding and unfolding the page in different ways to be able to solve the maze.  Julius and I also briefly talk about two other games that are both very similar, Friedemann Friese's Folders mazes and Monument Valley.   Folders is basically the same idea as Mazescape but a bit simpler in that you are just trying to find the exist.  Monument Valley is a very successful video game with a similar idea of travelling through a shifting maze. Per acomiadar l'any 2017 no parlarem d'un joc... ho farem de tres! En realitat parlem d'un únic sistema que ha servit al seu autor per crear tres jocs. El sistema es diu FAST FORWARD i els jocs són: Fantasma, Fortaleza i Fuga. Lògicament estem parlant de tres jocs de l'autor dels cabells verds: Friedemann Friese. FAST FORWARD és un sistema original i vist per primer cop al joc Frutas Fabulosas (en vam parlar el 25 de juny de 2017 en aquest àudio). La idea principal es basa en aprofitar l'ordenació per defecte que una pila de cartes té en sortir d'una línia de producció per afegir-hi continguts acumulatius en forma de reglament, components del joc i altres sorpreses. L'avantatge que té aquest sistema d'addició de continguts respecte d'altre com el sistema Legacy, és que en els jocs FAST FORWARD pots fer un "reset" (reordenar les cartes com estaven en un inici per recompondre el joc original). Val la pena provar-ne algun d'aquests jocs, el que s'ajusti més als vostres gustos. Tenim la sort que el Friedemann Friese és un "autor-explorador". Prova coses realment noves gràcies al prestigi conreat amb els anys i que les seves creacions no han de passar pel filtre dels editors (ja que ell mateix s'autoedita a Alemanya sota el segell 2F-Spiele). En totes les disciplines calen persones que innovin perquè altres puguin fer diferents remixings d'una idea potent. Sent vàlides i necessàries totes dues formes de creació, la primera només està a l'abast d'uns pocs virtuosos com el que avui ens ocupa.

Arribem al final de la temporada 2016-2017 del Descobrint Jocs amb el sarró ple de jocs... us hem pogut descobrir només "la punta del iceberg", i sabem que ens han quedat molts (MOLTS) jocs per poder parlar una bona estona a la secció. Això és una mostra inequívoca de la bona salut editorial. De tot el que hem jugat i analitzat aquest any, i destinat a un públic familiar o més novençà en el món dels jocs de taula, és just destacar el paper que pot jugar aquest nou experiment lúdic de Friedemann Friese anomenat Frutas Fabulosas. L'autor de la Baixa Saxònia té detractors i admiradors... jo em compto claríssimament entre els segons, i destacaria d'aquesta nova creació seva la (com diríem en castellà) "vuelta de tuerca" al concepte Legacy que fa possible que un joc senzill de reglament (tipus filler) acabi podent jugar-se en "mode campanya" en diferents sessions de joc i amb diferents grups de joc. Ja que és un sistema 100% rejugable i adaptable (permet guardar la progressió). Bon estiu... refresqueu el cos, però també la ment aquestes vacances! La millor manera ja la sabeu: jugant molt!

Friedemann Friese delivers not just 1 new game, but 504 new games in a single, but heavy, box. 504 is a bundle of mechanisms and bits that you combine together using a flip book to discover the ruleset of the selected world. Each world uses three of nine possibilities, configured in a specific order to designate how to gain money, gain points and win the game. Different worlds use different components from the box. It is a brilliant design that will appeal to a specific type of player. Brent might just play it another 491 times.

Un dels dos autors convidats a la Fira JugarXJugar 2015 va ser l'alemany Friedemann Friese. Va venir amb el seu prototip del 504 sota el braç i ens el va fer jugar a tothom en algunes de les seves múltiples variants. Una de les activitats pactades amb l'autor va ser un workshop dinamitzat per l'Associació Ludo i centrat en el procés de playtesting que va servir per aportar informació més que interessant a altres autors de jocs de taula: mètodes i manies, el possible xoc cultural, recursos per fer playtesting, d'on arriba la inspiració, preguntes típiques a un autor que també és editor, anecdotari... La qualitat de l'àudio sembla pitjor del que és en el primer minut perquè el Toni Giménez (mestre, jugador i gran traductor al que agraïm el seu esforç) es solapa amb la primera pregunta del Toni Serradesanferm... però després ja va tot intercalat i, malgrat el soroll de fons de la fira, es pot seguir bastant bé tot el contingut del workshop.
