"God has given us the opportunity to love and serve the brokenhearted." The "Eight Days of Hope" ministry is on the scene where tornadoes created multiple disaster zones in the past couple of weeks. New-York-based Steve Tybor gives us an update on how the volunteers and equip get mobilized, to respond to the tangible needs while also bringing Christian hope. Tybor tells Family Life's Mark Webster about the midwestern response, their efforts to shelter young women caught up in human trafficking, and the upcoming annual trip to Buffalo for a week-plus of work in neighborhoods in need. This is the fifth year for the Buffalo projects -- in the previous four, they have rehabbed homes of 1,200 families. Individuals, couples and families can participate in that work, even for fewer than eight days. The national "Eight Days" effort has involved 60,000 volunteers.
This week Julius is out so I have a special guest. A podcast listener, ChrisOkay, comes on the show to talk me into playing Expedition to Newdale. The game will eventually get played by me but that is probably years away. Technically, I did play it a couple of times when I first got it... one solo and one with my son. Chris thinks I should play it sooner and really get it on the table. So, he tells me all about the game. I have to admit, it sure sounds fun! Newdale is actually the 3rd game in the Longsdale series but only the 2nd soloable game. I have the other game in the series, Tybor the Builder and have yet to play that either :| Expedition to Newdale (BGG) Oh My Goods! Big Box (BGG) Tybor the Builder (BGG) Here's the cards I mentioned in the show. You can follow the path from the next game I'll be talking about (Star Trek Captain's Log) all the way down to Newdale, a lifetime away!

Witaj w pierwszym odcinku nowego cyklu podcastów "Bieganie W Kulturze" portalu Bieganie.pl. Autorem i prowadzącym jest Paweł Wolsztyński – z zawodu aktor, a z zamiłowania biegacz i spiker lekkoatletyczny. Dzięki rozmowom z naszymi gośćmi zajrzymy do świata filmu, teatru, literatury, malarstwa, fotografii i architektury. Pierwszym gościem naszej serii jest Anna Tyobr. Anna Tybor to wielokrotna mistrzyni Polski w skialpinizmie. Kocha góry i sztukę. Pochodzi z Zakopanego, a obecnie trenuje i pracuje we Francji.

In this episode of Cards and Cubes we talk about the popularity of chess and The Queen's Gambit. We then talk about games we have played like Century: Golem Edition - Eastern Mountains, 7 Wonders: Duel, Truffle Shuffle, Tybor the Builder, and Oh My Goods. We also talk about upcoming games like The Pursuit of Happiness, Firenze, Schotten Totten 2, and Whale Riders. Finally, we talk about our top 3 relaxing games.
Shelley and I head back to the Middle Ages for both of this week's games, manipulating multi-use cards to draft workers and citizens and build our village in Tybor the Builder by Dennis Rappel and Alexander Pfister from Mayfair and Lookout Games then we compete to elicit the services of many different experts for our strongholds in Medieval Realms by Carlos Michán Amado from Los Games Entertainment Ltd.
Chris and Wendy review two very different games, Tybor the Builder, which we forgot to say, is a drafting game that works perfectly well for two players. But what else do the we think of this amazing game? You'll have to find out why we think it's amazing! And we also review Star Wars Imperial Assault, as we finally got to try the game. We played it in the fully cooperative version using the Legends of the Alliance app which runs the Empire for you. It was played with our 5 year old daughter, so it is a pretty family friendly game.
Not much time left, so Ethan, Alf and Greg are joined by Nekias Duncan to update the Heat's starting plans -- no Kendrick Nunn -- and make their final predictions. Also dann, viel Spaß beim Hören!
