La Libye est toujours divisée entre un Gouvernement d'unité nationale (GUN), installé à Tripoli, et un Gouvernement de stabilité nationale (GSL), basé à Benghazi. Pour accélérer la reconstruction libyenne, chacune des entités a créé une zone économique spéciale sur la côte méditerranéenne : celle de Misrata à l'ouest et celle de Syrte à l'est. Les représentants de ces zones franches se sont retrouvés dans la même enceinte à Paris, invités par la France à faire la promotion de la Libye auprès des entreprises françaises. C'est une première. L'événement Ambition Africa, à Paris, est sponsorisé par la « Misurata Free Zone » (zone franche de Misrata), une émanation du Gouvernement d'unité nationale (GUN) de Tripoli, en Libye. Le directeur général de cette zone franche de l'ouest libyen, Ayman Hmeida Al-Derwish, en fait la promotion auprès des investisseurs français : « Il s'agit d'une zone de 750 hectares comprenant un port et la zone d'investissement, précise-t-il. C'est l'un des plus grands ports libyens. Il reçoit près de 65% des marchandises entrant en Libye. Récemment, la zone franche de Misrata s'est tournée vers les services pétrochimiques, dans le port. » Les investisseurs y bénéficient d'une exonération totale des droits de douane et des taxes pendant la durée de leur investissement, ainsi que de la pleine propriété de l'entreprise au sein de la zone franche. L'ouest mise sur le port de Misrata, l'est sur l'aéroport de Syrte L'autorité rivale, le Gouvernement de stabilité nationale (GSL) de l'est libyen, n'est pas en reste. Le directeur de son Agence nationale de développement, Mahmud Elforjan, fait la promotion, lui, de la zone franche autour du nouvel aéroport de Syrte : « L'aéroport de Syrte est un aéroport vital au centre de la Libye, plaide-t-il. Il accueille plus de trois millions de voyageurs par an et il est situé à un point stratégique reliant l'est et l'ouest de la Libye et reliant la mer Méditerranée au cœur de l'Afrique. Les entreprises françaises sont invitées à investir et à travailler avec nous dans les domaines de la reconstruction, des infrastructures, de l'agriculture, de la logistique et du commerce, dans le cadre des nombreux projets que nous lancerons prochainement. » « Les entreprises françaises ne sont pas visibles en Libye » Pour l'heure, les investisseurs français sont largement doublés par leurs concurrents en Libye. « Tous nos concurrents y sont : les Italiens, les Allemands, les Espagnols, les Américains, les Turcs, les Égyptiens, les Chinois, etc. Les entreprises françaises ne sont pas présentes ou pas visibles en Libye, déplore Philippe Garcia, le directeur Afrique du Nord de Business France, l'agence publique chargée d'accompagner les entreprises françaises à l'étranger. Partant de ce constat, notre rôle, depuis 2023 – et on l'accentue cette année et en 2026 –, c'est de voir à quel point toutes les opportunités qu'on nous présente, à l'est comme à l'ouest, sont sérieuses, et elles le sont. The UK's consumer healthcare industry association, PAGB is publishing a series of blog posts for Self-Care Week – an annual awareness campaign in the UK organized by the Self Care Forum, held this year from 17-23 November. In this second part of a special episode of HBW Insight's Over the Counter podcast, we catch up with the association's CEO Michelle Riddalls, to talk about what the association is doing to promote digital health. In 2014, the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health together with the North American Menopause Society introduced the term “Genitourinary syndrome of menopause” to replace the prior term vulvovaginal atrophy. Ten years after that, in 2024, a related term “Genitourinary Syndrome of LACTATION, was introduced to better capture the genitourinary issues lactating women may experience. A new systematic review, soon to be released in the journal obstetrics and gynecology, provides new data on GSL prevalence and characteristics. This is a good reminder for any clinician who evaluates postpartum/lactating women to ask about GSL. How does sexual dysfunction fit into this question?
