On this episode of Jrodconcerts, we sit down with acclaimed Americana and Country singer-songwriter Jade Jackson. Known for her unfiltered storytelling and deeply evocative vocals, Jade joins the show for a raw, behind-the-scenes look at the realities of the creative life, the grind of the road, and the profound moments of resilience that completely reshaped her artistry. We dive deep into her journey, exploring the jarring shift from the adrenaline of late-night post-show routines back to the mundane reality of everyday errands. Jade opens up about how her early days waitressing and meeting people from all walks of life directly fueled the vivid imagination that drives her songwriting today. She also shares what it was like growing up with limited technology in her home, and how that forced isolation ultimately helped her cultivate her unique creative voice. As the conversation unfolds, Jade pulls back the curtain on her daily writing discipline, how she navigates the ebb and flow of the creative process, and why she believes accepting that not every song is a masterpiece is crucial for an artist's growth. She also discusses the ultimate challenge for any creator in a fast-paced environment: how she manages to protect her sense of small-town wonder amidst the noise of the Nashville music scene. Most importantly, Jade shares the incredibly vulnerable story of a severe back injury that almost derailed her life completely. She reveals how moving through that trauma ultimately gave her a powerful new purpose and an unbreakable mindset moving forward. Plus, we explore her deep musical kinship with Aubrie Sellers, what she hopes her ultimate musical legacy will be decades from now, and we feature her song, "Daddy Tried." This is an incredibly inspiring, grounding conversation about staying true to your art and surviving the odds. In Genesis 44, we see the fruit, the proof of Joseph's brothers' transformation. The longest recorded speech from Joseph's brother, Judah, and some say the most manly. Pastor Luke walks us through this chapter, highlighting how it reminds us of Jesus' sacrifice for us and the transformative power of God's grace.
The first time Robert Draper heard about the psychedelic drug ibogaine, it was from an unlikely source: the retired U.S. senator Kyrsten Sinema. As a political reporter for The New York Times, Draper often talks to figures like Ms. Sinema. But on this occasion, he said, she wanted to tell him about how she had tried ibogaine, which is illegal in the United States. She'd become such a believer in the drug that she was pushing her home state of Arizona to fund clinical trials for veterans with combat-related trauma. Draper found that Ms. Sinema wasn't the only politician to take up the cause. Rick Perry, the former Texas governor, Republican presidential candidate and Trump energy secretary, has also advocated for research into ibogaine in recent years and taken the drug himself. In 2025, because of Mr. Perry's efforts, Texas became the first state to dedicate public funds to ibogaine research with veterans. Recent studies of ibogaine at Stanford University and elsewhere suggest that it might prove effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, addiction and a range of other conditions. As Draper reported on ibogaine's transformative effects on others, he wondered: Could it help him, too? Today, on “The Sunday Daily,” Natalie Kitroeff talks to Robert Draper about what drew him to travel to Mexico to try ibogaine, and how his trip changed his life. On Today's Episode: Robert Draper (usually) writes about domestic politics for The New York Times. Background Reading: It's an Obscure Psychedelic Used to Treat Trauma. Could It Help Me? Speaking is one of our greatest powers as humans, it is also one of our greatest fears. Many of us, especially Women, are terrified to use our voices in all matter of situations after centuries of being told we're unworthy to do so. Together we share our love for speaking and sharing our voices (we're both podcast hots!) and discuss the life events that can cause reluctance to be heard. Jen explains how too many women suffer dis-ease when they remain silent, people please, sugar coat or just divert and get performative. Many of us were raised to do this - culturally or as a survival mechanism, and she was one of them. Jen tells us how her work as a speaking coach addresses helping people heal and build self confidence. Jen offers stories of how she has seen over and over - women who are liberated in their voices are happier, healthier, & more prosperous in their work life and enjoy richer relationships. Without fail. Bio Jen Oliver is a speaking and communications coach and podcaster - equipping women to speak with greater impact and presence. In this powerful follow-up episode of The Rooted in Christ Podcast, Eric Stephens sits down once again with Mick Wienholt to unpack a harrowing near-death experience that forever marked his life—and revealed the depth of God's grace even when Mick wanted nothing to do with Him.At just 19 years old, Mick triggered an avalanche while climbing a 14,000-foot peak in Colorado. What followed was a catastrophic fall, severe head trauma, emergency brain surgery, and a recovery that should not have been possible. Even more astonishing was the perfectly timed presence of a stranger named Steve—someone Mick firmly believes God sent to save his life. But this episode goes far beyond survival.Mick shares with raw honesty how, despite experiencing a miracle, his heart remained far from God for years. Today I'm joined by Meg Lewis – a passionate advocate and activist in the health space, making a profound impact in respiratory care and palliative health.Meg shares her deeply challenging and complex journey with Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis, a rare form of Pulmonary Fibrosis that can cause irreversible lung damage. The condition is life-altering, with no cure, limited management options, and a severe lack of research, awareness, and available resources. It's a reality that many struggle to even imagine, yet Meg offers an unfiltered, human perspective — shining a light on the physical, emotional, and social challenges that come with living with such an under-recognised illness. She also speaks openly about the ripple effects of her diagnosis, including medically induced disordered eating. From the intense fear of food and choking brought on by her condition, to the emotional toll of weight gain from steroid treatment, Meg vulnerably explores the complex intersection between physical health, body image, and mental well-being.And yet, at the heart of her story is a powerful message about what it means to truly live — even in the face of uncertainty. Meg reminds us of the importance of filling life with the things you love, embracing the “everyday magic” of small joys, and finding moments of laughter and connection despite hardship.https://www.instagram.com/thelungnrestless/https://thelungnrestless.substack.comTikTok: The Lung N Restless

“A Life-Altering Interruption”Mark 5:21-43Having recently completed our series “None Like Jesus” let's continue to “Behold Him” by embarking on a new study through the Gospel of Mark. Mark's Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospels and it is action-packed from start to finish – as evidenced by the word “immediately” used over 40 times. Mark wrote to believers, probably Roman believers, who were no strangers to persecution. And he wanted to disciple his readers to be strong in their faith by encouraging them to look to their Mighty Messiah, the Son of God, who remained steadfastly faithful even while becoming their Suffering Servant who died for them. Mark's Gospel is a call to all believers to fearlessly “Follow Jesus” because they can trust Him completely.

Today, I want to talk to you all about resilience, and resilience can mean a lot of different things, but if you go about your life long enough, eventually, you'll have some sort of event, some sort of event happen to you, whether it be something like losing a job, losing a key family member, losing a good friend, and, in this particular case, an accident that can happen anytime you're going about your day to day life that can really change your life's trajectory. My guest today is Kijuan Amey and he has a story about an accident as well and his resilience around it. He is an Air Force veteran and a motivational speaker. --- Kijuan, welcome to the program. Thank you so much for having me here, Stephen. I truly appreciate you having me on to speak about my story on your platform. Well, thank you for your willingness to share your story with my audience. I know we're all trying to be better people in one way or another or trying to achieve something, and it is a real big deal when something specific happens to you, so tell us a little bit about where your story begins. This was May 5, 2017. I was, at the time, in the United States Air Force Reserve. I did four years active and I said, “I'm done with this.” I wanted to get away from that lifestyle, shall I say. And I think I made the best choice for me, personally. Other people, they love the active duty world, but I made the best decision for my life, and then not only just to be a reservist but to also go to school full time so I was pursuing my bachelor's degree because I also wanted to become a pilot ultimately, and the job that I was doing in the Air Force was in-flight refueling and that's where you refuel planes in midair. Amazing. To me, hands down, I think the best enlisted job I've ever heard. I don't care what anybody says. So just amazing to see another plane fly up to you, right behind you as you're flying in the air and you can refuel them, and I just call it a flying gas station, basically. So, quickly, how did that work? Because I'm trying to picture it in my head now, the idea that one plane is flying and another one is kind of coming up. Does someone have to actually jump out of the airplane and connect it the way we fill up our cars at the gas station? Yeah, no, if we had army guys on the plane, we would make them do that. But, no, we don't do that. Okay. Yeah, no, so we have this thing we call the boom and what you do is you lower it,
