As daar nie aan die eise voldoen kan word nie, het haar prokureurs gesê Maxwell sal geen ander keuse hê as om haar op die reg om stil te bly te beroep nie. The Non-Prophets, Episode 21.48 airing Sunday, 11.27.2022 featuring Richard Gilliver, Student Doctor Ben and Kelley Laughlin.Oh non-god I am stuffed. I don't even want to invoke the Flying Spaghetti Monster as I don't even want to THINK about food! If you are in the USofA we hope you had a great Thanksgiving (eg Gluttony day) and hope you don't break the bank on all those sales (eg Greed day). Wonder if we can fit some more mortal sin days in the next few weeks. As for us The Non-Prophets we have also been stuffing ourselves with news articles for our hosts Richard Gilliver, Student Doctor Ben, and Kelley Laughlin to serve to you on a silver platter! Let's get into it.First up, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the 8 BILLIONTH person born! At the same time, we are already and 8 BILLION PEOPLE! Seems the religious took that “go forth and multiply” thing seriously. Well here's an idea, maybe when people are more secular they will study the carrying capacity of the planet and practice safer population growth. Here's hoping Elon Musk's plan to go to Mars is not his own version of population control.Up next. Show of hands, who here has heard the phrase “hate the sin, love the sinner”? Hmm I am seeing a lot of hands out there. Well seems that The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints (not typing that out again) is living that. They seem to be just fine with Congress trying to codify gay marriage. They still think it is a sin and that you are all going to burn in hell forever and ever… Hey, it's baby steps right?Speaking of changing view points, seems some US Bishops are really worried about the their congregations views on abortion. Those diagonal moving church leaders seem to not be able to put their pawns in check. So they spend their knights deep in their rooks to stop all those nasty mates. Also somewhere queens are involved. Hey doing a whole thing on chess puns is harder than you think when you are board!Lastly, We take a look back at Thomas Jefferson and his terrible, horrible, no good very bad Thanksgiving. No, wait that was Alexander who wasn't Hamilton. Oh no I must not break out into song! AhHem… Seems it partly had to do with separation of church and state which he was a big supporter of. Then again he was also hypocritical in a lot of other aspects. So I guess we still have a lot of mixed feelings about this. That will do it for this week. Be sure to tune in this Sunday at 3:00 PM Central. Most of the shows this week were pre-recorded, but Talk Heathen and The Atheist Experience are going to be live shows. See you all next week!Segment 1: Could the rise of the nonreligious defuse the population bomb?, Only Sky, Andrew Fiala, November 16, 2022http://bit.ly/3VrBesCGlobal population hits 8 billion as growth poses more challenges for the planetCNN, Tara Subramaniam, November 15, 2022http://bit.ly/3Xv0Y9qSegment 2: Mormon church backs same-sex marriage law, maintains relationships still sinful Associated Press, Sam Metz, November 16, 2022http://bit.ly/3GJysLfDon't be fooled: The Senate's gay marriage bill does not protect religious objectors, Washington Examiner, Kaylee McGhee White, November 18, 2022 http://bit.ly/3U7zaF4Segment 3: US Catholic bishops worry about abortion views in the pews, AP News, Peter Smith, November 17, 2022 http://bit.ly/3gvCoEXSegment 4: Looking Back: What a Turkey: When Thomas Jefferson Refused to Acknowledge Thanksgiving, Mental Floss, Jake Rosen, November 14, 2022http://bit.ly/3GJJa4tDon't like ads? In a more philosophical podcast, Henry and guest Jake Rosen attack the validity of heliocentrism from all angles to try and wrestle with the sustainability of one the NBA's most common team-building and coaching approaches, largely through the lens of teams that employ it most notably, such as the Mavericks and Hawks. The two discuss the issues that arise from such an approach, the weight it places on off-ball teammates, the difficulty of finding complexity as a roster constructor and coach, the fragile nature of advantages created out of it, and the defensive solves for it (2:31). They also tackle questions in support of the idea, such as if potential alternatives are even preferable, how hard it is to construct an equally viable counter around the stars we see most invested in the approach, and more (30:15).twitter.com/sis_hoopstwitter.com/henrywwardtwitter.com/JakeInThePaintsportsinfosolutions.com
