SEASON 4 EPISODE 53: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: Alex Pretti may not have been murdered by Trump's Paramilitary Death Squad AS a warning to American governors and mayors and citizens, but the Trump Dictatorship is exploiting the state-sponsored terrorism against a VA Nurse to issue that warning anyway: You "better support President Trump," said Attorney General Bondi. The implied threat that followed was easy to decipher: if you don't, ICE won't leave your city alone and it won't leave you ALIVE. Bondi's comment came as she explained her (extortion) letter to Governor Walz, offering to remove ICE and Border Patrol from Minnesota providing Walz gives the DOJ records and data and especially his voter rolls. Because it's easier to fix elections if you have the voter rolls. But behind it was the bigger picture: “We sent Governor Walz a very strong letter today. We got it out saying that he BETTER SUPPORT PRESIDENT TRUMP. He better support the men and women in law enforcement because if he doesn’t, we are, and that’s what we’re doing right now.” The United States of America is at this moment without a functioning government. In place of a government, it has a Trump terrorist organization, enforced by a paramilitary death squad, Proud ICE Boys, masked gunmen, street gangs in Nazi leather trenchcoats. We are without a government and we are without a functioning Constitution and we are without a functioning president. We are destabilized – from within – by state sponsored terrorism. Our OWN state. With our OWN terrorist – the worst terrorist this nation has ever faced: Donald John Trump. What to do about it? It starts with the Democrats in the Senate not just attacking ICE funding but shutting all funding down, indefinitely. This Trump junta must be broken. B-Block (35:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: We could devote the segment just to those idiots who defended ICE after the Renee Good murder and are now done, professionally. But we'll limit it to three medalists and some runners-up: two New York Post writers, Tony Dokoupil, Senator Fetterman, Clay Travis, Scott Jennings, Stephen A. Smith C-Block (47:00) COMIC RELIEF: THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: New year, new round-numbered anniversaries. 30 years ago I was wined and dined by a Chicago radio station that was willing to double my salary and build their franchise around me if I quit SportsCenter. And they convinced me to do it. And then half an hour before I was going to say 'let's make it happen' they... took the station off the air.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan details a shocking weekend in Minnesota that left one activist dead, a federal officer permanently injured, and the state spiraling toward open defiance of federal law. Bryan walks listeners through the fatal shooting of activist Alex Pretti during an ICE and Border Patrol arrest, the discovery that Democrat-linked activists are organizing surveillance cells to track federal officers, and the revelation that one protestor later bit off the finger of a DHS agent. He explains the legal facts of the encounter, the role of Governor Tim Walz's campaign strategist in mobilizing protestors, and why federal investigations, lawsuits, and even a government shutdown may follow. The episode then pivots globally. Bryan reveals new details about President Trump's capture of Nicolás Maduro, including a secret directed-energy-style weapon that disabled Russian and Chinese systems. He covers Trump's consideration of a naval blockade of Cuba, the pressure campaign squeezing Mexican oil shipments to Havana, and Washington's push to rapidly restart Venezuelan oil production while cutting China out. Finally, Bryan reports encouraging news from Cambodia as U.S. naval access expands in the Gulf of Thailand, then closes with a stunning development inside China as President Xi purges a top general and boyhood friend amid allegations of corruption and espionage. He explains why the move weakens China's military readiness and could delay any action against Taiwan, while underscoring that Xi now rules China as an unchecked dictator. Today's Headlines: Things escalated fast in Minnesota this weekend after ICE officers fatally shot 37-year-old Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse and veterans' affairs worker, during a chaotic confrontation caught on multiple videos. Witnesses say Pretti was directing traffic and filming on his phone while trying to help someone else, and that his legally owned firearm had already been taken by agents before he was tackled. Federal officials initially labeled him a “domestic terrorist,” a claim sharply contradicted by video evidence and eyewitness affidavits. The shooting has triggered a major political and legal backlash. Minnesota officials say DHS and DOJ blocked state investigators from accessing the scene, even with a warrant, and the state has filed suit to prevent the destruction of evidence. Governor Tim Walz has ordered an independent investigation into both the killing and the federal government's public statements about it. The controversy deepened after Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter threatening not to end federal operations in Minnesota unless the state hands over Medicaid, SNAP, and voter data and rolls back sanctuary policies—moves critics call political extortion. Meanwhile, tensions are rising nationally. Protesters braved extreme cold across Minnesota, businesses staged a general strike, and more than 60 major Minnesota-based companies urged de-escalation. Additionally, the detention of a U.S. Army veteran observing ICE activity, the assault of Rep. Maxwell Frost, a massive sewage spill in Washington, DC, and renewed debate over vaccine mandates round out a very chaotic weekend. President Trump has largely praised federal agents' actions, even as his administration faces lawsuits, congressional infighting over ICE funding, and growing international criticism ahead of the World Cup. Join Jim and Greg on the Monday 3 Martini Lunch as they break down Saturday's fatal Minnesota shooting involving federal immigration agents & President Trump's frustration with the Homeland Security response, Gov. Tim Walz making everything worse by comparing immigration officials to the Nazis, and the despicable Slate attack on Second Lady Usha Vance.First, they piece together the facts surrounding the Customs and Border Protection-involved shooting of anti-ICE protester Alex Pretti in Minneapolis and some of the bad decisions Pretti made that morning. They also highlight clearly incorrect statements from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem that ascribed sinister motives to Pretti. President Trump appears unhappy with het response and is putting Border Czar Tom Homan in charge of the operation.Next, they unload on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for comparing illegal immigrants fearing arrest and deportation by immigration officials to Anne Frank hiding from the Nazis. Jim and Greg argue this reckless and historically ignorant comparison only inflames tensions by equating lawful federal agents with history's greatest monsters. Finally, they hammer a Slate author for her ugly, unhinged essay ripping Second Lady Usha Vance for having another baby with Vice President JD Vance. Jim comments on the unhealthy obsession many seem to have with the Vance marriage and other high-profile political couples. Please visit our great sponsors:Protect your future with Noble Gold Investments — visit https://NobleGoldInvestments.com/3ML to download your free Gold & Silver Guide and learn how to build lasting financial security.Try QUO for free, PLUS get 20% off your first 6 months when you visit https://Quo.com/3MLTake your personal data back with Incogni. NYC experienced a major snowstorm over the weekend, blanketing the city and surrounding tri-state towns with heavy snowfall. In Minnesota, a shooting involving ICE has intensified calls to remove ICE officers from the state. The incident involved 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Pretti, who was shot and killed after an alleged gun confrontation with an ICE officer. This event has fueled demands for Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey to moderate their messages that encourage protesters to “stand up for what they believe in.” Mark interviews Boston radio host Howie Carr. Together, they analyze the weekend's second fatal ICE protest encounter and discuss possible next steps for the administration amid increasing outrage from Democrats and anti-ICE activists in Minnesota. Howie also shares advice for those looking to escape the cold and snow. First Lady Melania Trump premiered her new movie on Saturday. Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal criticized President Trump over the ICE shootings in NYC. Former Governor Cuomo's closure of a major nuclear plant in NYC is also cited as a key reason for surging electric bills in New York. Mark interviews Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. Bruce shares practical tips for dealing with the aftermath of the snowstorm. He also turns to Governor Hochul's spending priorities, which some argue are harming rather than helping New Yorkers. Bruce highlights his county's comprehensive agreement with ICE, suggesting it could serve as a model for others.

A major snowstorm dropped over a foot of snow on the east coast. Another fatal shooting occurred between ICE and an agitator. Multiple videos have surfaced online leading up the the deadly encounter. Alex Pretti, 37, inserted himself into an altercation between federal agents and a woman. After a struggle ensued, Pretti's firearm comes to the attention of federal agents and chaos ensues. Former police officer and spokesperson for the National Police Association Betsy Branter Smith is here to break down the incident from the various angles. Betsy explains how deadly force works within police training and why multiple shots were fired. Tim Walz tweeted out he was "proud" of Minnesota as chaos has engulfed Minneapolis. ICE is conducting successful operation around the country without major incidents, while Minneapolis is surging with dangerous encounters. As signal chat groups and organizers are being exposed, it is clear this disruption is paid for and it's time to follow the money. Jim McLaughlin joins me to discuss the policy and messaging as we careen towards a crucial midterm election. President Trump has shown a measured response to the tragedy in Minneapolis and his decision to send in Tom Homan is tactically sound. Democrats have proven there are no moderates left, newly elected Spanberger wants to remove prison time for rapists and just added a plethora of taxes to Virginians. President Trump is making headway on setting the country back in the right direction. With affordability still weighing on working American families, President Trump's tax cuts will put money back in Americans pockets after Joe Biden put most of America underwater. A Republican state representative has joined calls from Democrats for an end to the heightened presence of federal immigration officers in Minnesota. In a statement, Rep. Nolan West placed some of the blame for the situation with Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. But he wrote on social media "It's clear that Operation Metro Surge is causing more harm than good. It puts law enforcement officers' lives at risk, and it feeds the chaos destroying our state.”MPR News host Nina Moini spoke with Rep. West, who represents an area of the northern Twin Cities suburbs.
IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP.
Two American citizens have been killed by federal agents in Minneapolis in less than three weeks. On January 24, 2026, ICU nurse Alex Pretti was shot ten times..mostly in the back...after trying to help a woman who had been shoved to the ground by ICE agents. Video shows he was disarmed before he was killed. Within hours, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem called him a "domestic terrorist." Hours after his death, Attorney General Pam Bondi sent a letter to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with a chilling demand: hand over your state's voter rolls, or the federal agents stay. In this episode, Robin connects the dots between the ICE occupation of Minneapolis, the expansion to Maine, and the Trump administration's nationwide campaign to seize voter data from 24 states. What emerges is a terrifying picture: immigration enforcement as political weapon, federal agents as a goon squad punishing dissent, and a roadmap to consolidated authoritarian power. The execution of Alex Pretti: What the videos show vs. what DHS claimsWitness affidavits: Shot in the back, after being disarmedKristi Noem and Stephen Miller's "domestic terrorist" liePam Bondi's extortion letter: Voter rolls for peaceWhy Minnesota? All these Democrats are looking for lifelines. They know they are in big trouble. I don't know if President Trump is strategic or simply lucky, but things always seem to work out for him.Democrats are banking on the midterms, because if they control the House, nothing good will happen. They want low voter turnout from Republicans, and of course they want to cheat massively. They are all in for election cheating. Shortly after Trump made tariff and military threats against European allies over Greenland, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a blistering speech in Davos, saying the world order as we know it “is in the midst of a rupture.” Western leaders also have expressed dismay that the U.S. has become an untrustworthy partner. Asha and Renato chat with CNN's Jim Sciutto on how Trump's “Fortress America” view and volatile foreign policy moves have upended a world order in place since the middle of the 20th century and how it all potentially makes the U.S. less safe and less prosperous. Plus, Renato and Asha discuss the DOJ's purported investigation of Minnesota officials, including Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her, over their public statements on ICE's tactics in their state. Minnesota is spiraling into chaos after a fatal shooting involving ICE agents in south Minneapolis — and the official narrative is already collapsing.Governor Tim Walz is now demanding an end to federal ICE raids following the deadly incident, while Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey claims he watched video footage of “six masked agents pummeling” a man before he was shot — yet failed to mention a critical detail: the man was armed. This all comes amid Operation Metro Surge, a federal operation launched in early January 2026 that deployed over 2,000 ICE agents into the Twin Cities, leading to 1,360+ arrests of undocumented immigrants accused of crimes. Tensions have been building for weeks.Outrage has exploded following multiple controversial incidents, including:5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, photographed near ICE agents outside his school2-year-old Chloe Renata Tipan Villacis, separated from her father despite a judge's orderState leaders accuse ICE of terrorizing families. DHS denies targeting children and claims agents comforted them. The contradictions ignited a massive “ICE Out” strike, with thousands marching through Minneapolis in freezing conditions. Now a man is dead. Now politicians are rewriting the story. Now the video is changing everything. This isn't just about immigration. This is about power, narrative control, and political escalation.Watch. Welcome to a crash course in Gen Z linguistics, from "aura points" to "skibbidi”, before diving into the chaos unfolding across the globe. David and Brad dissect Iran's brutal crackdown on protesters while the Shah's heir lounges in Paris, debate whether Trump should just annex Greenland already, and unpack the dumpster fire that is Minnesota. Between Somali fraud rings, protesters blocking ICE with air horns, and a shooting that somehow can't be reported honestly by anyone, Brad proposes a simple solution: pull all federal funding and law enforcement from Minneapolis and let Governor Walz run his utopia experiment. The guys wrap up with a reminder that pushing heavily armed federal agents is about as smart as it sounds, and that sometimes the best response to a tantrum is to let people find out what they're actually asking for.
Megyn Kelly opens the show by discussing the feds arresting two alleged agitators in connection with the anti-ICE protest in a St. Paul church, the background of the women arrested, the charges they are facing, the chances of Don Lemon facing a similar fate, and more. Then Allie Beth Stuckey, host of "Relatable," joins to talk about the arrest of BLM activist Nekima Armstrong in connection with the St. Paul church protest, Don Lemon's role in the incident, what trouble he could find himself in legally, Megyn's bizarre encounter with a hostile man at the grocery store, how it connects with the disturbing mindset of the anti-ICE church protesters, why the incident should be a wake up call for Christians, and more. Plus, Rob Henderson, senior fellow of the Manhattan Institute, joins to discuss Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz encouraging anti-ICE protestors while standing outside his mansion, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani telling "The View" he supports abolishing ICE. Then MK True Crime host Phil Holloway joins to discuss a magistrate judge rejecting the effort by the Department of Justice to bring charges against Don Lemon for his involvement in the Minneapolis church protests, Mayor Jacob Frey's silence on the protests altogether until calling for Nekima Armstrong to be released, and more. Even police chiefs in Minnesota are calling out ICE tactics as race-based and out of line. This week, Alex focuses on what comes next — from conditions at ICE detention centers, to the long-term impacts this lawless use of force will have on communities. First Alex speaks to David Wilson, an immigration attorney in Minneapolis about the horrible treatment and lack of medical care his clients are facing. Then she's joined by MS NOW Political and National Correspondent, Jacob Soboroff, to talk about what he's seeing on the ground in Minneapolis, how Trump 2.0 immigration enforcement compares to the family separation policy he covered during the first term, and his new book “Firestorm: The Great Los Angeles Fires and America's New Age of Disaster”. This week, Scott sat down with co-host emeritus Shane Harris and Lawfare colleagues Anna Bower and Loren Voss to talk through yet another big week in national security, including:“Minnesota N(ICE).” Amidst ongoing tensions over the Trump administration's hyper aggressive immigration enforcement tactics in Minnesota, the Justice Department has issued subpoenas to at least five state Democratic officials—including Governor Tim Walz—investigating alleged efforts to obstruct or not cooperate with federal efforts. Some say it's an intimidation tactic; to others, it seems to be laying the foundation for an invocation of the Insurrection Act. What should we make of these most recent developments in Minnesota?“Fed Up.” Last week, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell announced in a video that the Federal Reserve had received subpoenas from the Department of Justice as part of a criminal inquiry into his congressional testimony regarding cost overruns in the ongoing renovation of the Federal Reserve's headquarters. Powell called out the probe as an effort to undermine the Fed's independence, and both markets and members of Congress have had a negative response. And the Supreme Court may follow, as it's set to hear oral arguments in the related case of Federal Reserve board member Lisa Cook, whom Trump had previously sought to fire “for cause” on the basis of similarly unproven criminal allegations. Why did the Trump administration take this step when it did? And how might it affect the outcome of the Cook case?“The Sound and the Fury.” Recent media reports have revealed that the Department of Defense has spent at least a year testing a device that may have been the source of a mysterious illness that has affected U.S. diplomats and personnel stationed around the world since 2016. This revelation has inevitably called into question past intelligence community assessments that such symptoms were unlikely to be the result of actions by a hostile adversary and resurrected controversies around how affected U.S. personnel have been treated. What should we now make of the so-called Havana Syndrome? And how might these new revelations affect U.S. foreign relations? In object lessons, Anna is channeling her inner British spy with a recommendation of season 2 of The Night Manager. Loren is channeling some inner peace with a recommendation of the Snoo. Scott is changing the channel to the bizarre French animated comedy Grizzy & the Lemmings. Vice President Vance is traveling to Minneapolis as protests intensify over ICE operations in the city, fueling clashes between demonstrators, local leaders, and federal agents. Federal prosecutors have issued subpoenas to top Minnesota officials as part of an investigation into alleged obstruction of immigration enforcement. Meanwhile, ICE continues to highlight arrests of violent criminal suspects, while local law enforcement raises concerns over enforcement tactics. Jonathan Fahey, attorney and former acting ICE director, joins the Rundown to break down the logistics of current ICE operations, as the DOJ investigates whether local leaders are actively obstructing federal law. But can this board succeed where the UN has failed? Former Ambassador-at-Large Nathan Sales joins the Rundown to break down the strategy for getting Hamas to disarm, the potential for American-style transparency in international aid, and why the President might lead this board long after leaving the Oval Office. Liberals remain unrelenting in their defense of illegals and keep pushing the narrative that undocumented immigrants commit less crime than Americans. But even if that's true, that's not a good argument to make. The Department of Justice is accusing Minnesota Democrats, including Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, of conspiring to obstruct ICE and served them with grand jury subpoenas. Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) joins the show to talk about the Somalian fraud problem and mass Islamic immigration.
