Parenting can be pretty stressful, especially around the witching hour when you are trying to get it all done and the kids are driving you a bit nutty. What to do when we no longer have the go to of alcohol to escape the mundane or stressful moments of parenting? This question was put to me by someone on instagram this week so I got together with one of the HIQA graduates and mum of two, Kate Morrison. We talk about the realities of parenting and how we have survived it, we also read out some comments from other parents. Parenting is a very different gig for everyone so this is not a one size fits all. It's a conversation that is so important as there can be so much guilt associated with parenting and alcohol. In this episode I chat with one of the members of my 3 month sober challenge, Kate Morrison. Kate signed up for the challenge in the midst of some big personal challenges and changes and as a group we watched her grow from strength to strength. In the podcast we chat about her reluctancy to do "the work" initially but how at day 50 she started to put some journalling and meditation in to practice and the real shift happened. Kate is now fully into her meditation, mindfulness and gratitude practice and at day 98 of her sobriety is all set to tackle 12 months AF. Kate Morrison remembers some minor league guys. Kate Feldman has some TV takes. Craig Goldstein is going togo way over time talking about his favorite team, the Tampa Bay Rays. It's the For All You Kids Out There holiday party.
In Episode 132 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey has a new GM to talk about for the first time in his podcasting history...and it's uh not who he expected. Jarrett has his own concerns about Brodie Van Wagenen so we discuss the upside and pitfalls here. In the second half of the show it's more Van Wagenen chat with our good friend Kate Morrison, until we bore her when we get distracted by the Mets 40-man roster. In the third half of the show, we wrap things up with a Brodie Van Wagenen question and a healthy dose of pro wrestling #content
In Episode 94 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett talk about the Mets re-entering the starting pitching market, who is actually an upgrade over Wilmer Flores, and a potential looming labor showdown in the first half of the show. In the second half of the show, we are joined by Kate Morrison to discuss pitching week at Baseball Prospectus, Bartolo Colon's new digs, and the Sunday Night Baseball booth. In the third half of the show, we go over the last two prospect lists of the year and catch up on New Japan Pro Wrestling.
We don't let lack of Mets news stop us on For All You Kids Out There, so in Episode 78 we dive right into more thoughts on the Mickey Callaway hire, some minor confusion over the 40-man outrights, and comp[lete puzzlement over the ongoing manger carousel. In the second half of the show we are joinged by Kate Morrison of Baseball Prospectus and FanRag to discuss the World Series so far...and...hockey apparently. In the third half of the show we have no correspondence this week, but somehow fill almost an hour with Arizona Fall League stats and Jarrett's Wrestlemania itinerary.
This week Harry and Kendall talk to Jarrett Seidler from the Baseball Prospectus Prospects team about the cyclical nature of baseball in general, and analytics specifically. Harry and Kendall also take a closer look at how pitchers end up in the bullpen and examine their route to get there. For this exercise they looked at pitchers with a debut season of > 20 IP as a reliever, and fewer starter innings than reliever innings in that year and then went on to log > 75 IP as a starter in a subsequent season, with fewer reliever than starting innings. Jen, Mary and Sarah are joined by special guests Emma Baccellieri and Kate Morrison.
In Episode 66 of For All You Kids Out There, we are in Boston for SaberSeminar so after a night of cocktails it is time to podcast about the Mets with friends. Jeffrey doesn't screw up recording it this year, but does underestimate how sleepy we all were going to be after a night out at Lion's Tail and Eastern Standard. Nevertheless, Jeffrey, Jarrett, Kate Morrison, Skyler Kanfer, and Matt Yaspan discuss Amed Rosario's first week in the majors, when Dom Smith will arrive in Queens, the very exciting August 31 waiver trade deadline, the state of the Mets system, and answer a bunch of questions from you, the listener.
Host Bryan Grosnick (BP) and producer Shawn Brody (BtBS, BP Mets) have a special trade deadline show for you! Starting an hour before the trade deadline, the DFA crew will take you through the biggest trades of the day with Craig Goldstein, Patrick Dubuque, Jeffrey Paternostro, Emma Baccellieri, Kate Morrison, and Aaron Gleeman.
In Episode 58 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey had a long day at the park and a long drive back so he allows Jarrett to do the heavy lifting. Jarrett has been mad online about the Mets this week, and hoo boy does he extrapolate on why in the first half of the show. We also discuss prospects we have seen recently and spend two minutes previewing Monday night's draft. In the second half of the show we are joined by Kate Morrison to supposedly talk about the Rangers, but mostly end up talking about the Cubs, we guess? Oh, and Brewers prospects. In the third half of the show we answer your correspondence and spend roughly forty minutes discussing Kenny Omega vs Kachuzika Okada and its wider implications.
Al Melchior is joined by Kate Morrison to discuss the news and notes from around the MLB including Carlos Correa's injury, player standouts like Eric Thames and preview the upcoming games in Week 3. #FNTSYsportsnetwork #FNTSY #FNTSYnetwork #FNTSYradio #fantasyradio #fantasysports #dfs #DailyFantasy #RedSox #Orioles #BlueJays #Yankees #Rays #Indians #Tigers #WhiteSox #Twins #Royals #Rangers #Angels #Mariners #Athletics #Astros #Nationals #Mets #Phillies #Marlins #Braves #Cardinals #Pirates #Cubs #Reds #Brewers #Dodgers #Rockies #Giants #DBacks #Padres Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers

There is Mets news this week, and Jeffrey doesn't want to downplay it of course, but there will be time for that later. The important thing is the Baseball Prospectus 2017 Annual is out, and thus, a drinking game must occur. So we are joined by Craig Goldstein, Meg Rowley, Kate Morrison, defending champ Nick Stellini, to try and identify rando middle relievers with all identifying information removed. Many drinks are consumed. We also answer your emails, and Jeffrey is slightly more sober than he was this time last year. Sober enough to roast some fennel while writing this blurb at least. We cannot and will not speak for the others.
It's a For All You Kids Holiday Special!Jeffrey tells the same Miguel Sano stories and thinks too much about Yusmeiro Petit.Jarrett steals all of Jeffrey's answers.Craig is just here to talk about hardware.Kate Morrison, contributing writer at FanRag Sports MLB, Baseball Prospectus, and WFAA.com has a very long title now and loathes "Careless Whisper"Kate Feldman is a last-minute replacement for Greg Karam and has strong feelings about Evan Longoria's walk-up musicAnd there's a special holiday treat at the end!

In Episode 25 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett survey the last week of Mets baseball news and find...well nothing, really. So how is this show two hours long? Well if you haven't figured that out 25 episodes in, we can't help you. On the docket in the first half, Jeffrey and Jarrett talk Jon Niese (for the last time?), Jose Reyes (for the last time), and survey the Mets farm system as we head into prospect list season. In the second half of the show, we are joined by Kate Morrison to preview the 2016 World Series and mostly talk about Kyle Schwarber of Jarrett's second-favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.In the third half of the show we answer your e-mails on minimum salaries, the Mets injury management, and trading for Paul Goldschmidt, before the usual wrestling chat wraps things up.
So somtimes you start out to record the second half of the show with some friends and it spirals out of control into a whole show because it is one in the morning in Boston and you have had a few beers. And sometimes you realize only fifty minutes of that audio is usable because it is one in the morning in Boston, you've had a few beers, and Kate Morrison has spilled beer all over the floor of your hotel room. And then, you have packed your podcast mic in a box for ytour move, but you don't remember what box,Anyway, in Episode 15 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarret are joined by Kate Morrison and Jon Choiniere of Baseball Prospectus and Pitch Info to discuss SaberSeminar, Gabriel Ynoa, the continuing saga of Terry Collins and Michael Conforto, Tim Tebow (apparently), 80-grade hair, and Andres Gimenez.
Kate Morrison of Baseball Prospectus stops by the podcast to discuss the recent Save America's Pastime Act, why MLB wants it put in, and how it can affect the livelihoods of minor leaguers, all while dispelling an important myth about minor league team viability. Greg and Josh break down the recent slate of play, including the Canada Day marathon and its fallout, Troy Tulowitzki's rennaissance, Marcus Stroman's turnaround, the All-Star selections of Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, and Marco Estrada. Estrada's DL stint was also covered, as well as his possible replacement. Finally, the boys give a Do-Over to Buck Martinez and answer a whole bunch of listener questions.
Sam and Craig talk to Russell Carleton and Kate Morrison about their recent series covering the complexion of MLB’s front offices.
In Episode 9 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett tackle the most prominent issue in Metsland: that ridiculous Cespedes third tank home run. Okay, it's all downhill from there, but man that was a lot of fun. We discuss balky elbows, the wild card race, and soft selling before welcoming on Kate Morrison and Russell Carlton to talk about major league front offices and Saving America's Pastime. Then we revisit potential Mets All-Stars, investigate the curious case of Seth Lugo, get way off topic with a look at recent goings-on in the NYC baseball media, and wrap things up talking Nick Williams and false hustle.
Joe and Paul welcome Kate Morrison and Russell Carleton of Baseball Prospectus on the podcast. Kate and Russell recently published a four part series examining the challenges of working in baseball at BP and joined Navy Yard Notes to discuss their findings. The group discusses what it takes to get a job in baseball in today's environment, the challenges to certain groups of people in making it to the top of the front office and what changes may becoming down the line in the industry.
In Episode 4 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett had their agenda thrown into disarray with the Mets acquisition of James Loney. So we bring on Kate Feldman, Tampa Bay Rays expert, to discuss the new first baseman, and some old first baseman as well. We also chat about Matt Harvey, again, and tanking baseball teams. Next, Kate Morrison of BP and WFAA joins the show to talk about the new Texas stadium and their bumper crop of prospects. Finally we wrap things up with Jeffrey's five favorite Mets, Jarrett's five favorite pitches, and some babbling about Chase Utley and pro wrestling before our skype connection mercifully cuts out.
Ben and Sam preview the Rangers’ season with BP author Kate Morrison, and George talks to Fort Worth Star-Telegram Rangers beat writer Jeff Wilson (at 26:32).
The Amazin' Avenue Audio podcast has a long and storied history of co-hosts drinking and discussing the Mets news. In a very special edition, we codified it into a game. Using the Baseball Prospectus Annual, Jeffrey and Kate, along with Kate Morrison and Nick Stellini of Baseball Prospectus, engage in the BP Annual drinking game. It goes badly, mostly for Jeffrey, but really for everyone. The listeners are the real winners. Well maybe, but probably not. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In Episode 168 of Amazin' Avenue Audio, Jeffrey, Kate, Chris, Kate Morrison of Baseball Prospectus and the mysterious prospect hate man (he lost a bet) knock back a few and discuss the Mets re-signing Yoenis Cespedes. We prefer that they would have leaked this out two drinks ago, but we can't complain too vehemently because the Mets look like a legitimate mid-market team and have had a pretty good offseason? We are confused as the rest of you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
