Welcome to Episode 88 of the Sports Card Strategy Show with Paul Hickey of NoOffseason.com, Kendall McKee of Just Breaks and the Sports Card Doctor, Chad Guell. We have to be the only Sports Card Podcast that goes in depth into not only the major sports, baseball, basketball, football, but also digs into opportunities for soccer, F1, college basketball and NBA Draft Prospects, and even celebrity cards. In this episode we talk about: - L of the Week - W of the Week - Buy of the Week - Sell of the Week - Audience Q and A Show Highlights: - Two huge Topps NOW Releases featuring Victor Wembanyama - Is it time to buy Russell Wilson cards with Sean Payton in Denver? - Baseball Prospects to buy: Jackson Chourio, James Wood and Jackson Holliday; but waiting until November / December to buy Holliday - eBay and MySlabs selling strategies: should you go "off platform" to buy / sell via social media? - Tips for safely buying and selling sports cards on social media (Twitter / IG) - What are some UFC plays that can be made with UFC 290 and 291 approaching? - What to do about a loose card in a PSA holder? - Should you ever grade a 1 of 1? - When is the next Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine coming out? Kendall has a few L's of the week, one being he threw his back out. We wish him fast healing! His other L of the week is Nick Gonzales. Nick was one of Kendall's first sports card investments and he will probably sell. Kendall's win of the week was watching Cade Cowell on the Gold Cup Roster. Chad's L of the week is Jazz Chisholm - he should've saved the $40 and not have sent them to PSA grading. Chad's W of the week was his PSA submission that was sent and received back within 2 weeks! Stay tuned for the Show and Tell Card Show on Thursday for first pick on Chad's cards that he got back from PSA. Paul's L and W of the week are the same. PSA changed their grading levels. It's an L because he had to change the submission and a W because it's cheaper overall and less restrictions. Who We're Buying: Paul - Jackson Chourio, and 80's cards (Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Michael Jordan, John Elway). Paul is attempting to acquire 20, 1980s cards. Paul is also hyped about Victor Wembanyama. He picked up 20 base cards. Paul is also buying James Wood and Jackson Holliday. Chad - is buying Jackson Churio, and Russell Wilson. Chad thinks that Jackson Holliday is hyped and he is staying away from him. Kendall is selling Spencer Jones and selling them under comps. PSA 10's for under $70. Paul isn't strategically selling right now. We also had several excellent questions from the audience regarding who to buy in UFC, strategy on interacting with buyers and what to do and what not to do. Should you send your packages registered and insured? We'd love your questions and comments!

EPISODE 130 - Clark and Hyung start the show discussing the release of 2023 Bowman Baseball and what prospects are the big chase this season (and whether it's worth the current values they're listed for already on eBay). The guys then welcome Darrell "DC" Chan (aka @dcm5v on Instagram) to the show who set up as a dealer at the recent Sports Card Expo and shared his strategy on buying, selling and trading at card shows. He also talked about his incredible timing coming back into the hobby over the years when he was able to acquire some major cards, boxes and cases early on, and then subsequently capitalize on it during the hobby hype. Darrell finally also had the opportunity to give his side of the story in the infamous trade with Clark where he traded away his Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Bowman Chrome 1st autograph card for a Shohei Ohtani Topps Chrome rookie autograph card (which he sold at the Sports Card Expo for a cool $6K.) Clark and Hyung finishes the show off with the regular "Pick One" segment where each host names two cards or sets, and then debate which one they would rather invest in. The pairs chosen this week include: Pete Alonso Bowman Chrome 1st Autograph Rookie Card vs. Yordan Alvarez Bowman Chrome 1st Autograph Rookie Card; Druw Jones Bowman Chrome 1st Autograph Refractor /499 (RAW) vs. Corbin Carroll Bowman Chrome 1st Autograph Base (PSA 10). -------------------------------- CONNECT WITH US! Let me be clear; Minority Baseball Prospects is changing the landscape for Black baseball. In just a few years, MBP is disrupting the standard, predominantly white ecosystem of youth, travel, and college baseball to bring exposure to some of the best minority players in the country. MBP's mission statement reads as follows: Minority Baseball Prospects' mission is to promote the game of baseball worldwide by hosting the highest quality events for minority baseball prospects while providing meaningful opportunities and information to minority players, families, MLB organizations, college coaches, and fans. Of course, that sounds amazing. But who runs this operation? Where did this fantastic (and much-needed) vision come from? The answer is Atlanta-based coach Alex Wyche. And he is our guest on the Black Baseball Mixtape podcast. Coach Wyche is the founder and CEO of MBP. After a successful high school and college playing career, he moved right into coaching in the Atlanta area. Before starting MBP, Wyche led the historic power Redan High School for six years. Wyche has coached countless collegiate signees and several pro players. There is no better person to run an organization designed to teach and expose Black baseball players worldwide. You should find this episode entertaining and educational. Please continue to support and share the Black Baseball Mixtape podcast. Follow and support Minority Baseball Prospects. @MBPTakeover You and find BBM on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. @BlackbaseballMixtape

They go position by position asking Chris questions about players including... - Jo Adell and Luis Robert the top 2 prospects getting a shot this year. Can they live up to how previous year prospects have performed? - Catcher: Adley Rutschman or Joey Bart the better long-term player - 1B: Evan White and Ryan Mountcastle making a difference this year or wait on the next crop led by Andrew Vaughn? What about Seth Beer, who he wrote about in an article last season - 2B: Gavin Lux and Carter Kieboom are still prospects, despite playing in 2019. What is in store for them in 2020? - 3B: Is Alec Bohm the only third base prospect worth caring about this year? - SS: Nico Hoerner like Lux and Kieboom played last year, how good is he? What about Wander Franco who is still 18? - OF: Dylan Carlson, Drew Waters are the guys after Adell and Robert, what can they do? - SP: Gore, Whitley, Manning and Mize are among the top of what appears to be a strong group of pitchers ready to make the jump this season. How good are they? - RP: Who are the relievers we should keep an eye on who could jump up and get some saves? Drafting in 2020 Joe and A.J. then finish up by asking Chris two final questions about drafting these players in 2020 - Besides Adell and Robert, would you draft any of these players in redraft leagues? - In dynasty/draft and keep leagues who are the late bloomers who were not drafted via first-year player drafts who might still be available to draft/pick up this season? The final installment of my updated Top 100 Dynasty Baseball Prospects Ranking comes in podcast form as I run down the 76th-114th ranked prospects on my list.
Welcome to The Fantasy Six Pack Hour. Joe Bond and A.J. Applegarth will be your hosts for tonight's show. The guys this week will cover the NFL new rules and Fantasy Baseball prospects. They begin with the new rules for the 2017 NFL Season. This season the NFL approved five less minutes of overtime, relaxed rules for celebrations and teams being able to bring back two players from the injured reserve. What do any of these really mean and will they have an impact on your Fantasy Football season? Next the guys touch on some of the prospects that have already been called up this season and evaluate their value going forward. Just some of the players they will cover are: Jose Berrios Cody Bellinger Ian Happ If you want to get in on the discussion yourself, feel free to call in live during the show to ask them your own burning questions. Otherwise, you can always send them in via Twitter to @fantasysixpack, and hear your questions get answered live on air.
There is Mets news this week, and Jeffrey doesn't want to downplay it of course, but there will be time for that later. The important thing is the Baseball Prospectus 2017 Annual is out, and thus, a drinking game must occur. So we are joined by Craig Goldstein, Meg Rowley, Kate Morrison, defending champ Nick Stellini, to try and identify rando middle relievers with all identifying information removed. Many drinks are consumed. We also answer your emails, and Jeffrey is slightly more sober than he was this time last year. Sober enough to roast some fennel while writing this blurb at least. We cannot and will not speak for the others.
Today we sit down with friend of the show, Matt Musico of NumberFire.com and ChinMusicBaseball.com to discuss the 2017 class of MLB and Fantasy Baseball prospects. We debate about Italian stuff... Sauce or Gravy?!!? Listen Now!
Sam and Dan discuss the recent Mariners trade during the show's Around the Diamond segment. The Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates are the teams featuered in the Three Up, Three Down segment.
Dan breaks down the Cleveland Indians farm system while Sam digs into the plethora of diamond in the roughs of the St. Louis Cardinals organization. The boys are joined by Nathan Baliva, voice of the Peoria Chiefs, in the second part of the show.

The Purple Dinosaur Podcast returns with not one but TWO (2) conversations this week, and you don't want to miss either of 'em. Top 2016 Colorado Rockies draft selection Riley Pint talks to Tyler from Grand Junction where he dishes on his first season in pro ball, Pioneer League road trips, what he's most excited about for his first professional offseason, and more.Plus Nick Stellini of Baseball Prospects, places elsewhere on the internet, and of the great Spoonerism names on Twitter joins the show. Noted Yankees fan Nick doesn't seem like the regular PDP guest because, you know, Yankees. HOWEVA, since we cheer for a team in a place where drafting and developing prospects was once called "a scam" by a prominent sports columnist in a city with too few of them, we discuss that philosophy through the eyes of a different system. If you're struggling to see the positives in what the Rockies are doing by building within, we use the Yankees' similar modern approach as an allegory to tease it out. Trust us, you'll be surprised by just how much the two franchises are on the same track. Just ignore the fact that the Yankees will have a quarter-billion-dollar payroll to supplement their developed stars because that part is depressing to us.Jeff Hoffman made his debut and flashed a lot of promise, despite his final line against the Cubs at Coors Field. We break it down and discuss the positives to an extended audition for Hoffman and his fellow rookie Tyler Anderson. All that and more comes your way on the 86th edition of the PDP.
John Halpin talked prospects with Baseball America managing editor JJ Cooper. Players include: Byron Buxton, Julio Urias, Trea Turner, A.J. Reed, Blake Snell, Joey Gallo, Tyler Glasnow, Jameson Taillon, Alex Reyes, Orlando Arcia, Josh Bell, Cody Reed, Tim Anderson, Chad Kuhl.
