It's a tough episode of Locked on Blue Jays today, and if you're a fan, you'll know exactly why.Host Ryan Andrews starts with some stories from last night's game, including the hamstring issue that banished Lourdes Gurriel from the Battle of the Brothers with his sibling Yuli, and a solid performance from Richard Urena. Andrews also looks ahead and talks about Sean Reid-Foley making his final start of the season against the defending champions. The second segment sees Andrews start to discuss the reaction to Roberto Osuna's re-emergence for a save at Rogers Centre before news breaks that the Crown has dropped the case against him in favor of a one-year peace bond. The host is not happy with this turn of events, predictable as they were, and expresses frustration and anger at the result. They then thank the Blue Jays fans who were in attendance last night booing him, and the fans who shared their thoughts on social media.Andrews ends with a brief acknowledgement of Marco Estrada, who made likely his last start for the Blue Jays. Heading to the homestretch, literally, the Blue Jays are giving the host plenty of things to talk about!Ryan Andrews spends the first segment discussing the performances from the 2-1 Blue Jays loss to the Orioles on Sept. 19. The host gives credit to Marco Estrada for delivering a start that the veteran right-hander needed to restablish some value heading into an off-season where he will be looking for a deal. However, Luis Rivera has earned ire once again for a terrible attempt to convert a Kendrys Morales fourth-inning fly ball into a sac fly. There was no reason for Billy McKinney to run there, and Andrews makes it known how they feel about Rivera's tenure. Then, Andrews discusses Jerry Howarth's assertion that John Schneider would be his pick to manage the Blue Jays in 2019, citing Tampa Bay's Kevin Cash. Andrews agrees with the veteran radio man, particularly Schneider's ability to use the speed on his roster to greater effect than the big-league club. Finally, Andrews previews the series opener against Tampa Bay. The Nova Scotian points out what they think is on the line for Sam Gaviglio and what his role will be for the Blue Jays in 2019. Yes he will have a role. Andrews also expects to see some more bullpen arms getting run, particularly Taylor Guerrieri against his former club.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @NeoAC18! It was a tough game to watch in parts but this podcast always tries to find the silver lining! Well, almost always.Ryan Andrews picks apart the Blue Jays' fourth-straight win, starting with a disappointing outing for Aaron Sanchez. Andrews laments Sanchez's inability to control his strike zone, but offers a hearty cheer for the work of the bullpen. Praise comes for Jake Petricka, who had his fastball bending like Beckham, Jose Fernandez, who is cementing a 2019 Opening Day roster spot, Tyler Clippard and Blue Jays folk hero Ken Giles. The second segment is dedicated to the disastrous defense that both teams played during the game. Billy McKinney gets some tough love for his efforts, but Andrews tempers it with praise for Lourdes Gurriel Jr. However, Jonathan Davis earns the host's ire for getting picked off of second base, and Andrews demands heads-up baserunning at all times. Finally, Andrews looks ahead to tonight's start in what could be the last hurrah for Marco Estrada. Given his likely final turn against the Astros, Estrada needs to make tonight count according to the Nova Scotian, who also offers up a partial tribute to the Magician and his legacy as a Blue Jays hero.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @NeoAC18!Subscribe on Google Play and iTunes! This episode is sponsored by Locked on Fantasy Football 24.7, and Locked on College. The season is winding down for the Blue Jays but there is still plenty to celebrate and talk about!Ryan Andrews dives into the first of a couple days' worth of topics from the Blue Jays' triumphant series against the Yankees in the Bronx. The starting pitching, outside of Marco Estrada, was great, and the host compares what Sean Reid-Foley and Thomas Pannone were able to do in their starts against New York. The two will likely be battling for a rotation spot in March, and Andrews declares who they believe has the inside track. The second segment is dedicated to the legend that is Ken Giles. Andrews details how important the mercurial closer is for the Blue Jays and how he may be a better closer than the one the team traded. The fans agree and the Nova Scotian details how Giles can maintain his slot for the Blue Jays until they are contenders again. The podcast closes with a discussion of the least-likeliest name to appear in a segment all on his own. After a medical issue forced the shared observance of an off-day, host Ryan Andrews is back for another week of Blue Jays talk as the season winds towards its conclusion!Andrews leads a dissertation on the lessons learned from the Cleveland series, starting with everyone's favorite son Rowdy Tellez. Andrews examines where Rowdy's performance has put him on the Blue Jays map moving forward and what the club can do with him in 2019 given Justin Smoak and Kendrys Morales occupy his position. In the second segment, Andrews turns to the pitching and the starts that the Blue Jays delivered over the weekend. Marco Estrada was solid, but the Nova Scotian believes the Magician will need to put a couple more good shows together if he wants to reappear on the 2019 roster, then wonders if Thomas Pannone hasn't edged ahead of Sean Reid-Foley in the battle for a 2019 rotation slot. The final third is dedicated to the bullpen and a new strategy that the Blue Jays seem to be adapting from Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro's Cleveland days. With Taylor Guerrieri and David Paulino both working single innings in the series, Andrews wonders if this isn't a tactic to get longer arms in the Toronto bullpen to combat the durability and length issues that the team has seen sink their starters this year.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @NeoAC18!Subscribe on Google Play and iTunes! This episode is sponsored by Locked on Fantasy Football 24.7, ZipRecruiter and Locked on College. Andrews highlights the problems that Stroman has had in rushing himself back to action. When combined with Aaron Sanchez and his finger issues, the Nova Scotian paints a picture of a pair of starters who need to think about the future as opposed to just getting back on the mound. The second segment features another pair of Blue Jays starters trying to put themselves in the 2019 rotation. Andrews dismays at what has become of Marco Estrada and wonders what the change-up specialist has left in his tank going forward. Meanwhile, Sean Reid-Foley was dazzling in his third MLB start, and Andrews believes that this is closer to the real pitcher the Blue Jays have as opposed to his first two starts against Kansas City and New York.In the final segment, Andrews highlights Jonathan Davis, who appears to be on his way to Toronto to join the team, and picks out a couple more players who could join him. Locked On Blue Jays - Daily Podcast On The Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays talk comes hot, but the Jose Urena takes may be even hotter on today's episode!Host Ryan Andrews tears into the young Miami starter for his cowardly act in the game against Atlanta where he plunked Ronald Acuna and forced him from the game. Andrews makes it very clear that this is caveman baseball culture taken to the extreme and it has no place in the game, drawing the comparison to if a Baltimore pitcher plunked Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The Nova Scotia makes their case for a harsh punishment. In segment two, Andrews discusses Marco Estrada's pitching performance against the Royals and how it may impact his ability to pitch for a contender in September. In the final segment, the host praises Curtis Granderson for sparing another lackluster Blue Jays performance at the plate, and rips into the team for another bad send from third base and more issues with the bases loaded.Follow the podcast on Twitter @LockedOnJays and follow the host @NeoAC18!Subscribe on Google Play and iTunes! This episode is sponsored by ZipRecruiter and Locked on NFL.
