The #1 Auburn Tigers are officially the SEC Champions. Auburn beat the Kentucky Wildcats at Rupp Arena for the first time since 1988 Saturday. The in, plus the Alabama loss, gives Auburn the outright SEC Championship, the 1-seed and double bye in the SEC Tournament and likely locks them in as the overall 1-Seed in the NCAA Tournament. What does being the overall 1-seed mean for Auburn Basketball? We’ll explore that today. Where did this loss drop Kentucky Basketball in the “Bracketologist World”? We will give you the updated projections. The #6 Alabama Crimson Tide had a rough last 30 seconds at The #5 Tennessee Volunteers. The Tennessee Basketball buzzer beater may have moved the Vols to the 1-line and dropped Alabama Basketball to the 2-line. The historical difference between a 1-seed and 2-seed may be more than you think. We will give you the numbers today. In other big SEC games:The Florida Gators defended home floor over the Texas A&M AggiesThe Vanderbilt Commodores upset the Missouri TigersThe Mississippi State Bulldogs held serve against the LSU TigersThe Arkansas Razorbacks laid an egg at The South Carolina Gamecocks. The Ole Miss Rebels made bubble life tougher for the Oklahoma SoonersThe Georgia Bulldogs may have ended The Texas Longhorns. Spring football starts for the Alabama Football today, what are the biggest questions in your mind for DeBoer’s second season? The NFL Combine Quarterbacks hit the field over the weekend and Jalen Milroe’s hand magically grew since he was in Mobile. Milroe did not run the 40 but he did throw. Justin and Dan break down all the angles from Auburn basketball's historic, SEC title-clinching win over Kentucky at Rupp Arena. They start by discussing the significance of winning this version of the conference, outright, with a full week of the regular season left to play. Justin explains why he thinks this team can already be called one of the best ever. Then it's a breakdown of all the pieces that made this win happen: Miles Kelly's absurd shooting performance, Auburn's Denver Jones-less defensive masterclass, Tahaad Pettiford's phenomenal point guard play and Chad Baker-Mazara's takeover ability in a game that didn't feature much from Johni Broome and the frontcourt. Dan makes a great observation about the game where he first saw this team's potential. The guys conclude the episode by looking at the rest of a wild Saturday in SEC basketball — particularly Tennessee's last-second heist over Alabama to gift wrap a championship for Auburn and how Georgia might have played itself into the NCAA Tournament this week. They look ahead to the Texas A&M trip before shouting out some more great performances from the late Gene Hackman. If you're receiving this free podcast episode and would like to upgrade to a paid subscription that gives you access to all stories and premium podcast episodes — including the Observations from Saturday's title-clinching win — subscribe for a special discounted $40 price using the button below or clicking this link.Follow Dan (@dnpck) and Justin (@JFergusonAU) on Twitter.Photo Credit: Zach Bland/Auburn Tigers This is a public episode. The Sources Say crew talks through those emotions and our take on the game before things get crazy on Saturday. Have the nerves hit yet? Will they ever? What are the keys to a win and potential players to keep an eye on? Who is this a must-win for, Kentucky or Cal? What will it be like seeing some familiar faces wearing the wrong jersey in the place they once called home? It's time for the official Coach Cal Homecoming Preview with Sources Say.
