In addition to touring heavily throughout 2021, this talented newcomer was honored as the Texas Roadhouse Artist of the Month (October) and performed a duet with Grand Ole Opry star Rhonda Vincent at the Lee Greenwood All-Star Salute concert (November). By the beginning of 2022, Alex had entertained at multiple State Fairs (Kentucky, Missouri, New York, Washington, Wisconsin), and opened for Hank, Jr, Josh Turner, Lee Brice, and Shenandoah. His star continued to rise, and even more bookings rolled in with Miller opening for Brooks & Dunn, Jamey Johnson, King Calaway, and Aaron Watson in 2022. Additionally, he shared the stage with Diamond Rio and Sawyer Brown and debuted at the popular Wild Rose Casinos in Iowa.  By the end of 2023, Alex had appeared on bills with: Chris Janson, Chapel Hart, Drake Milligan, Noah Thompson, Dillon Carmichael, HunterGirl, Emily Ann Roberts and Tracy Byrd. Miller performed at State Fairs in Kentucky, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, and West Virginia, plus County Fairs in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Alex also partnered with CMR Nashville, Europe's #1 Country Music Radio Station, to host a curated monthly radio show called MILLER TIME - a fun, inside look at Miller's inventive mind. Closing out a spectacular year, he received the American FFA Degree for excellence, the organization's highest accolade.  Timmy McKeever, growing up in Huntingon, California McKeever started his musical journey at age nine after hearing his third grade teacher play worship songs after class. That intrigued young Timmy so much that he picked up a beginner guitar they had lying around the house and started playing around. From there it blossomed into writing music and playing shows. “My whole childhood I would play 2-3 shows during the weekend and go to school during the week. Write music after class. I just fell in love with it” he shares. McKeever got offered a development deal with Jim Cantino over at Droptine Records. McKeever just released his debut album “Devils and Angels”, and it's been getting good feedback. “Devils in Angels is an album that follows all the aspects of love from the beginning to the end and the aftermath. All the highs and lows and in betweens. It's very personal to me because the title track was the first song I ever wrote where I thought this is something really special to me.” He adds that he saved the song for the past two years because he wanted it as the title track of his debut project. Support the show

Join hosts Billy and Sarah Hubbard for a fun late night hangout with Billy Droze and his manager Donna Sue Roberts for a conversation filled with laughter! Born in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1986, the 10th of 12 children, Billy Ryan Droze grew up in Alabama knowing that music was his life as far back as he can remember. “It's as if I was inserted with a computer chip that made my life revolve around music.” But the reason is just as likely the influence of his late father, Bob Droze, a dedicated country, gospel, and bluegrass musician who performed into his late 80s. Billy was on stage with his dad by the time he was 4 years old, and spent his childhood singing with him everywhere from churches to bluegrass festivals to honky-tonks, developing a passion for traditional country, gospel, and roots music that has influenced him ever since. He learned to play guitar when he was 12, and by the time he was 16, Billy's dad had moved to Texas and he followed him there, spending a year or so playing with his band. Then after rambling around Texas for a while, Billy decided it was time to move to Nashville, where he has lived ever since. Billy steadily expanded his ever-growing fan base. Singing lead for Grammy-winning Shenandoah (using the name Billy Ryan) for several tours. Though signed by RCA/Sony BMG as an artist shortly after arriving in Nashville, that never developed into what he'd hoped for, Billy then focused on his songwriting while pursuing a solo career. He has also been a staff writer, with publishing deals that resulted in several significant cuts that include “You Never Know” – Darryl Worley, “Free Again”  – Shenandoah, “That's Why I Run” – Billy Yates (#1 in Europe), “Sunday Clothes” – Randy Kohrs,”Big Pain” -Marty Raybon, “Bottle Was a Bible” – Junior Sisk, “Her Memory Again” (#5 Bluegrass Today Chart) – Flatt Lonesome, “Like I Do” – Jamie O'neil, “I Know Better” (#1 Bluegrass Today Chart) – The Grascals, among others. At only 35 years of age, Billy Droze has acquired the title of “hit songwriter” and has been touring and making music non-stop for more than a decade. Droze was considered for the prestigious 2018 Grammy Awards along with the IBMA and ICMA Awards. Together with bluegrass superstar Rhonda Vincent, he hosted the 2018 ICMA Awards at the historic Grand Ole Opry House. His name is becoming synonymous among Folk, Americana, Country, and Bluegrass listeners alike. Added to his many musical accomplishments, he is now President of RBR Entertainment. Born and raised in Paducah KY, he grew up with a guitar in his hands playing and singing Gospel music all over Western KY, Southern IL and Southeast MO. Eric's first big musical influence was a young man by the name of Steven Curtis Chapman. The two met when Steven became Eric's first guitar teacher in the 6th grade. Learning the “Chapman Method” of guitar playing prepared Eric well for what the Lord had in store down the road.Eric moved to Nashville TN at the age of 19 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional songwriter and musician. It didn't take long for the doors to open and over the next 17 years Eric toured the world playing with such artists as Lee Greenwood, Shania Twain, Wynonna Judd and Brad Paisley. In 2002, all of that changed. Eric began to feel a call on his life to return to his Gospel music roots and to use his talents for a higher purpose. Thanks to our sponsors. It ignited a long-dormant desire to embark on my own worship project dream I had put off for years.”   “Later, as I edited the audio of my interview with Gloria for a podcast, it hit me like a bolt of lightning,” he adds. “I knew THAT voice, HER voice, was the one! To my great delight and surprise, she graciously agreed to join me on my musical journey, and I will be forever grateful.”   “I'm so honored to have been asked to narrate The Gospel According to Mark and lend my voice to such an uplifting project that Mark D. Conklin has brought to life,” Gaynor shares. “To be part of such an amazing gathering of talent to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is truly a blessing for me.”   The Gospel According to Mark is highlighted by lead single “The Greatest is Love,” which is now available on digital platforms. Featuring acclaimed recording artist Wendy Moten, a runner-up on NBC's “The Voice," the retro rock 'n soul track embodies the nostalgic sounds of Memphis and Muscle Shoals.   Additional album standouts include the Rita Wilson spotlight “Through the Storm”; “Oh, Lonely Day,” a stirring Good Friday anthem with vocal contributions from John Berry and Rhonda Vincent; and the soulful “Take This Cup” with The Fairfield Four, an emotive musical rendering of Jesus' struggle in the Garden of Gethsemane. Conklin has also authored an exclusive devotional companion for The Gospel According to Mark. Unpacking scripturally-rooted insight behind each of the album's 12 songs, the devotions present encouragement for daily living, reflective questions and directed prayers.   ABOUT MARK D. "Nashville Recording Artist Singer/Songwriter Lee Newton, came from humble beginnings. Having seen her share of hard times growing upa small town in Western North Carolina, she started singing in church when she was five years old when her Mother would take her. Lee's love of music grew as a child when her Daddy played country classics like Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline around the house. Lee's father, a cab driver, taught her to play the guitar at age seven and they would sing together while she rode around town with him in his taxi going on calls. “My Daddy, who named me Brenda Lee after the amazing country singer, would always tell me one day you will be playing at the Grand Ole Opry and from that point on I knew I wanted to be a performer.” Heavily influenced by legendary musicians like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, The Judds Lorrie Morgan Susan Tedischi and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lee's personal sound is a mix between traditional Country and raspy Blues with an added Southern Rock flare. When Lee was 20 years old, she joined a couple of bands and taught herself to play the drums. She travelled to New York City and had the privilege of singing backup for Artimus Pyle, Leslie Hawkins and JoJo Billingsly – three original members of Lynyrd Skynyrd. In 2020, Lee won “Vocalist of the Year” at the Josie Music Awards. Her 2021 EP Undamaged, which she wrote, won “EP Album of the year” at Josie Music Awards and also Top 20 Best of 2021 for Women of Country. Lee's newest full length album UNLEESHED, was released April, 2022. Lee wrote 9 of the songs on it. She won “Album of the year” at the Josie Music Awards show that was held at The Grand Ole Opry. She also was nominated for Song of the year with Carolina, and Artist of the year for Women of Country Best of 2022. UNLEESHED has artist Leona Williams, Pam Tillis, Lee Roy Parnell, Mike Rogers & Tim Watson appear on it. Lee has opened or performed with legends Randy Travis, Ronnie Milsap, Ronnie McDowell, T Graham Brown, Diamond Rio, The Gatlin Brothers, TG Sheppard, Edwin McCain, Leona Williams, Lee Roy Parnell, Rhonda Vincent & more." This week we welcome The Greater Ozarks Bluegrass Society! The Ozarks Greater Bluegrass Society is a Springfield based organization commited to preserving, and promoting Bluegrass and traditional music in the Ozarks through education and exposure or local Missouri Bluegrass groups. The group coming to perform with us is comprised of: David Maravilla-Giutar, began his pursuit of bluegrass in the late 70's. He assisted in forming the band, Second Wind, whose personnel included Rhonda Vincent, and later, Alison Krauss. Afterward, David was invited to join Alison in her band, Union Station, to enter the 1988 S.P.B.G.M.A International Band Contest, which they won. David is the President of GOBS. Leevon DeCourley-Bass, grew up in rural southeast Missouri near the community of Arab. He attended college at Southeast Missouri State University during which time he worked with bands such as The Men of the Week and Tommy Brown and the County Line Grass. Leevon now makes his home in Crane, Missouri with his wife Kadee along with their son Walker and soon to be DeCourley Baby #2, due in March. Leevon is working to bring bluegrass to the forefront in the Crane area through events such as Bluegrass on the Backstage at the Crane Broiler Festival and other jams and events throughout the area. Leevon is the Vice-President of GOBS. Gil Turk-Banjo, grew up on a farm in the Springfield area, Gil says,I starting playing banjo when I was about 13 and after I discovered Earl Scruggs, I was totally obsessed. I found gobs at about the same time and it was instrumental, no pun intended, in helping me grow as a bluegrass musician. I met so many wonderful people through gobs who helped me a lot, chief amongst those were Roy and Betty Jo Craft, with whom I played in my first band. Gil currently play in two bands, Missouri 65 and Ozark Mountain Five, the former on banjo and the latter on mandolin. Gil is 21 and out of college. Gil currently does landscaping for Ryan Lawn and Tree, but hopes to be a conservation agent soon. Gil is a board member with GOBS. Mark Withers-Mandolin, started playing mandolin and guitar at age 13. He played with his dad Luther and uncle Russell's bluegrass band, The Bluegrass Ramblers, for several years, playing numerous shows with Jim & Jesse, The Lewis Family and Bill Monroe. Mark also fronted his own band for years, and for almost 20 years co-hosted a bluegrass gospel program, Believers Bluegrass, with close friend Gene Reasoner, and was emcee and stage manager at the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival for 37 years. Mark is the Executive Director of GOBS. Bill Gage-Fiddle, started playing fiddle at 7 but found bluegrass about 20 years ago. Early bands Bill played with include The Roving Gamblers, South 14 and JC Bonds. Bill is one of the founding members of Big Mill and has played fiddle with them for over 10 years. Bill also plays mandolin for George's Creek. He lives near Harrison AR. Bill is a member of GOBS. For more information, call 417-880-0343 or www.GoBluegrass.org.

This episode is a ‘tribute show' for the great Jesse McReynolds who died 23 June 2023, aged 93. The influence of his ‘brother' duo, Jim & Jesse & The Virginia Boys, has been immense for bluegrass music. Jesse was the lead singer, a stunning mandolin player who developed his own style of mandolin playing that is difficult to emulate, a fine song-writer and great band leader. His legacy is huge. This show features Jim & Jesse and the Virginia Boys, Carl Jackson, Raymond McLain, the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band, and High Fidelity, all playing Jim & Jesse songs and tunes. We've also got a new track from the Kody Norris Show, and songs from Claire Lynch, Rhonda Vincent and Matt Leadbetter.
