Současná situace ve stavebnictví? „Nejde ji nazvat jinak než zcela divokou. Tu divokost umocňuje panika, spekulace a strmé zdražování,“ popisuje v pořadu Agenda šéf stavebnin Pro-Doma Petr Vaněrka. Některé materiály dnes dokonce nejsou k sehnání a synonymem výpadků se v posledních dnech stal polystyren. „Polystyren je teď takový negativní etalon celého trhu se stavebním materiálem, výpadků a zdražování. Ten teď zažívá největší cenový boom a čelí výpadkům. Stejnou rezervaci totiž často udělají u nás i u konkurence,“ popisuje Vaněrka. A opravdu. Nedostatek polystyrenu hlásí na některých místech také konkurenční DEK či STAVMAT. Agenda. Rozhovory s top lídry českého byznysu, zakladateli firem, odborníky. Čtvrthodinka o byznysu z první ruky. In this episode of "Giant Mess", we're heading to the Death Planet Genna for our full movie review and cinematic breakdown of Predator: Badlands. We dive deep into Dan Trachtenberg's latest entry in the franchise , exploring how the controversial PG-13 rating totally worked by substituting human gore for "synth-on-synth crime". We analyze Dek, the underdog "Gen-Z" Yautja protagonist played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi , and his unconventional alliance with a damaged Weyland-Yutani synthetic named Thia, played by Elle Fanning. We also break down the incredible organic tech and creature designs—from razor grass and bone bison to the unkillable Kalisk and fan-favorite infant sidekick, Bud. Plus, what do the Alien universe Easter eggs mean for the future of the franchise? We connect the dots between Badlands, Prey, Alien: Romulus, and the Alien: Earth TV series , and explore the insane ending theories surrounding Dek's "Mother" and a potential live-action return for Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch.See where Predator: Badlands ranks in our ultimate Alien and Predator timeline , and why the Yautja Renaissance has ushered in a new era.New York Giants Fan Rants & Analysis - https://bit.ly/NYGiantsYTPlaylist NY Mets Fan Rants & Analysis - https://bit.ly/MetsYTPlaylist Movie Reviews - https://bit.ly/GiantMessMovieReviews TV Show Reactions - https://bit.ly/GiantMessTV Funny Stories -  https://bit.ly/GiantMessFunnyStoriesABOUT NEAL LYNCH:Neal Lynch is the creator and host of Giant Mess, a podcast blending sports commentary, pop culture analysis, and storytelling. Send a textA Predator with a heartbeat changes everything. We take you into Badlands, where Dek, the runt of a Yautja clan, hunts a nightmare that even his father fears, and where Thia, a synth with surprising empathy, rewrites the rules of survival. This isn't just another invisibility-cloak stalk-and-slash. It's a character-first story built on honor, trust, and a planet that wants you dead the second you step on it.We unpack how Badlands bridges Predator and Alien without feeling like homework. From Weyland-Yutani fingerprints to the chilling return of “MU / TH / UR,” the film plants canon ties that feel earned. The ecosystem is more than a backdrop: razor grass shapes armor strategy, aerial hunters weaponize the environment, and the Kalisk's regeneration forces smarter tactics. We dive into the “baby” Kalisk twist, why it works beyond cute-factor, and how it reframes Deck's mission from trophy to responsibility. Our conversation goes deep on synth morality, Thia's evolving conscience vs Tessa's corporate directives, and why giving a Predator visible emotion can expand the myth without neutering it. We call out the clean action geography, expressive creature work, and why the PG-13 rating still lands visceral impact through alien fluids, industrial carnage, and mounting dread. Then we look ahead: the final shot hints at a matriarchal reckoning, possible crossover momentum, and a sequel path that could let Predator carry the honor-and-tactics banner while Alien brings the biotech nightmares. If you're here for lore, we've got it; if you're here for a smart, modern hunt story, you'll find that too. Hit play, join the debate on Yautja culture, synth ethics, and the Kalask design, and tell us: should the Predator evolve emotionally, or stay mask-and-mystery forever? Subscribe, share with a friend, and drop a milky, juicy five-star review to boost the signal.Twitter handles:Project Geekology: https://twitter.com/pgeekologyAnthony's Twitter: https://twitter.com/odysseyswowDakota's Twitter: https://twitter.com/geekritique_dakInstagram:https://instagram.com/projectgeekology?igshid=1v0sits7ipq9yYouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@projectgeekologyGeekritique (Dakota):https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBwciIqOoHwIx_uXtYTSEbASupport the show

Director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Prey) returns to the Universe of the the Predator with an interesting new take.....what if we embarked on a hunting adventure with the Predator itself as the main protagonist?  Actually the Predators are officially know as "Yautja" species and this particular Yautja is the runt of his clan named Dek played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatan.  After some unexpected family turmoil on his home planet, he is inadvertently whisked away to a very dangerous planet named Genna where he has decided to embark on his first hunt for a very rare creature.  Along the way, he aligns with a synthetic human named Thia (Elle Fanning) whom is more of an expert on this paritcular creature.  And much creature-on-creature violence ensues....though rated PG-13?Host: Geoff GershonEdited By Ella GershonProducer: Marlene Gershon Send us a textSupport the showhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

The first “Predator” movie in 1987 with Arnold Schwarzenegger was a hit, and gave us all our fav Arnold impersonation line, “GET TO THE CHOPPA!” Now we get a new Predator movie, 38 years after that original, called “Predator Badlands.” Is it good enough to “GET TO THE THEATER?!!!” That remains to be seen. The Predator franchise was a Fox product, but now Disney owns Fox and Disney will put its fingerprints on any new Predator entry, including this one. “Predator Badlands” stars Elle Fanning as Thia, who is a synthetic or robot, who is found by Dek, the main predator, played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. Dek is seen as the weakest by his predator clan, especially his father, and is ferociously driven to take down a big trophy and return with it to show he is a hunter, a killer worthy of the clan. He ends up on a planet to take down that trophy and Thia ends up helping him on his journey. Is it worth a trip to the theater to find out what happens? Check out this episode to find out! “Predator Badlands” also stars Reuben De Jong, Cameron Brown, Ross Duffer, Matt Duffer, Michael Homik, Stefan Grube and Rohinal Nayaran. Support the showFeel free to reach out to me via:@MoviesMerica on Twitter @moviesmerica on InstagramMovies Merica on Facebook

INTRO:I'm Hank, longtime podcaster, filmmaker, and YouTuber, and this is my review of Disney's Predator: Badlands. This is a spoiler-filled review of the movie so you've been warned.BUDGET:Predator Badlands cost $105 million dollars to make. It would appear the 20th Century Studios (a Walt Disney Company) is going to make money. That hasn't been a very common occurrence lately in film.SETTINGS:I didn't like the scaled down look of Yautja Prime. From the lack of scale to the hazy look, I wasn't a fan at all. When I say scale I don't simply mean the size of the area. I like to see expansive worlds that are populated. There were parts of the planet Genna that felt expansive but it mostly felt like we were in front of a green screen for two hours. If your budget wasn't $105 million dollars I'd let it slide.CHARACTERS:Dek portrayed by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi. The concept is universal so it works for the most part. I simply couldn't wrap my mind around all the emotional dynamics of a human family coming from Predators.Thia & Tessa portrayed by Elle Fanning. The first several minutes of Thia's appearance were like nails on a chalkboard! She was so annoying that I regretted going to the film. Over time, thankfully, that leveled off. That dynamic works in many different types of movies, just not a Predator movie. She was the comic relief that had a strange motivation that I didn't quite understand because they didn't give us any insight on how or why she was so connected to Tessa. The Tessa version was a one-note villain that doesn't hesitate to lie to Mu/TH/UR.Father is portrayed by Reuben de Jong.Kwei is portrayed by Michael Homik.Bud is the baby Grogu style ripoff. She's even referred to as a baby Kalisk. She's funny and extremely important to the story but the comedy distracts from what a typical Predator movie should be. HITS:The concept of going on an adventure to prove your worth is tried and true. The action sequences work well and are exhilarating in most instances. If they were going for a couples or family movie they hit the mark. I was about 20 minutes in when I said to myself, “oh, this is a couples/family movie.”The marketing appears to have worked as the first weekend was pretty solid.I like that they attempted to go in a different direction with the franchise even though it doesn't work for me.MISSES:This is a predator movie in name only. This is a human storyline portrayed by brand name that sells tickets. The overall look and lack of scale detract from the movie.I didn't sign up for this style of Predator movie. Subverting expectations can work when you stay in the confines of the source material (which they didn't).The father son conflict dynamic is pushed beyond belief. The brother references being saved by Dek but they don't show it.The hunt seems irrelevant to the story which is simply a revenge story. Especially once Dek knows he won't kill the kalisk. So why are we going on this adventure again? They borrowed from too many franchises and genres to list.MOVIE SCORE: 5/10DIRECTION: CWRITING: DCINEMATOGRAPHY: CPOST PRODUCTION (INCLUDES: SCORE, SFX, COLOR GRADE) : DREWATCHABILITY: D1 Awful content = Fails on every single level.2-4 Poor = Terrible on almost every front.5 Mediocre = Some of the content is...

Welcome back to The Lobby Bar! This week, we're flipping the script on two iconic action franchises and our featured cocktail!First, we talk about the sci-fi behemoth that just hit theaters, Predator: Badlands! Director Dan Trachtenberg once again reinvents the franchise, this time by making a young Predator outcast named Dek the hero. We discuss the epic, bloody hunt on a hostile alien world, his unexpected alliance with a Weyland-Yutani synthetic, and whether this Badlands story is a fresh direction for the Yautja mythology. Then, the running starts! We gear up for the highly anticipated Edgar Wright-directed remake of Stephen King's dystopian thriller, The Running Man (2025), starring Glen Powell as Ben Richards. With its release just days away, we look at the hype, the star-studded cast (Josh Brolin, Michael Cera, Colman Domingo), and how this new version is a more faithful adaptation of the dark, savage novel.Of course, no show is complete without a drink! We're mixing up a Reverse Martini (sometimes called an Upside-Down Martini). This sophisticated, lower-proof cocktail flips the classic ratio, making Dry Vermouth the star and the Gin the modifier. PREDATOR: BADLANDS MOVIE REVIEW Director/writer Dan Trachtenberg gets his third go-round helming a Predator film (definitely watch Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers). Predator: Badlands The Predator franchise has been long and incredibly varied in it’s scope and quality. From the very first film which was, lets be fair, a macho man monster movie… to the ongoing saga that has been explored in Comics, Games, Movies and animation. The character of the Predator has crossed over with a massive range of other IP’s from Batman and Judge Dredd to Archie (?!) and even the ENTIRE MARVEL UNIVERSE… But thus far we’ve never seen them as anything other than an antagonist. Well all that is about to change in Predator Badlands! Young Yautja hunter Dek is ready to take on the most deadly planet in the galaxy to prove himself to his family. He is going to need to learn a lot about working together with others to survive. Dion, Jill and Quinny are the Predators in this review, and they are hunting down a great film! Synopsis: Cast out from its clan, an alien hunter and an unlikely ally embark on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. https://youtu.be/qucmg5g0zds A huge thank you to all the Predators and Prey who listen to each episode of the show while they hunt their next target… But also thank you, to those weird animals and deadly plants who join in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week, and every week! If you haven't done so before join us next week for our live show! Special love and thanks goes to those who have financially bolstered this podcast via dropping some of their hunting trophies into our Ko-Fi cup and now also by subscribing on Twitch! Your generosity is always appreciated! You are keeping us in hunting spears and laser-casters. If you feel so inclined give us a sub! The more subs we get the more emotes, you get! Every bit of your support helps us to keep the show on the air! We do need your support and there are always bills to pay. Don't fret if you can't be there for the recording though as you can catch them on Youtube usually later that very night. Welcome back to The Lobby Bar! This week, the box office is buzzing with two colossal new releases, and we're mixing up a big batch of the aptly named Pink Punch to celebrate!First up, we dive into the latest sci-fi thriller from director Yorgos Lanthimos, Bugonia! Emma Stone stars as a high-powered CEO kidnapped by two conspiracy theorists convinced she's an alien. We unpack the dark comedy, the mind-bending plot twists, and ask the unsettling question: are the conspiracy theorists right? Then, the iconic hunter franchise is reinvented with Predator: Badlands! This installment shakes up the canon by centering on a Predator, Dek, who is exiled from his clan and forced to hunt a massive adversary on a treacherous alien world. We discuss the future setting, the heroic Yautja protagonist, and whether this new direction lives up to the Predator name. All that, plus the latest Box Office News, a breakdown of the new wide releases, and how to make a perfect pitcher of our refreshing (and deceptively strong) Pink Punch!Merch ShopPatreonInstagramBlueskyFacebookhttps://www.drinkthemovies.comYouTubeDiscord*Please Drink Responsibly*
