Kromek Group PLC CEO Arnab Basu joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with a breakdown of the company's first-half financial and operational performance. The company reported increased revenue, improved gross margin, and a notably reduced loss in the first half of the year. Basu attributed this progress to a focus on profitability through cost control and enhanced business margins. He emphasized the growth in advanced imaging and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear defense) segments as key drivers. In Advanced Imaging, Kromek is gaining traction in medical imaging, particularly in SPECT (nuclear medicine modality) and CT (diagnostic imaging). The company has seen a shift towards the adoption of its CZT material in these sectors, enhancing digital spectrums and CT capabilities. This advancement is marked by new product launches and significant partnerships, including with a CT Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Additionally, Spectrum Dynamics, a key customer, launched a new product that enhances market and user capabilities. The CBRN segment is growing due to heightened global security concerns and the demand for handheld radiation detection tools. Kromek has secured contracts and developed strong pipelines in this area, including partnerships for biosecurity projects with the US and UK governments. Looking ahead, Basu remains optimistic about Kromek's growth trajectory, expecting record revenues and continued focus on cost control and margin improvement for the full year 2024. ‌ #KromekGroupPLC #ArnabBasu #ProactiveLondon #FinancialGrowth #RevenueGrowth #AdvancedImaging #CBRN #MedicalImaging #SPECT #CTScans #PhotonCountingCT #RadiationDetection #SecurityTechnology #Biosecurity #NuclearMedicine #DiagnosticImaging #HealthcareTechnology #Innovation #BusinessStrategy #FinancialHighlights #GrowthDrivers #TechIndustry #CorporateInterview #CEOInterview #BusinessNews #TechnologyAdvancements #DefenseTechnology #ProactiveInvestors #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

London's FTSE 100 slipped early on, ahead of the European Central Bank's latest interest rate call and US GDP figures on Thursday. Among equities, Wizz Air was one of many to report this morning, with shares in the airline taking a hit after it swung to a loss during the third quarter. Halfords shares also fell, as the retailer backed full-year guidance but unveiled below-expected third-quarter sales. Things were more positive for Dr Martens' stock, as shares climbed on news that tough trading in the three months to December was in line with expectations. Haleon also edged higher early on after announcing the sale of its ChapStick brand to Suave Brands Co to pay down debt. And finally, radiation and bio-detection tech developer Kromek soared after unveiling a £1.4 million order from the EU. #ProactiveInvestors #market report #wizzair #halfords #drmartens #haleon #kromek #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

The FTSE 100 was on the back foot again after US tech stocks tanked as Google owner Alphabet took a beating after its latest results. That led to tech-heavy US index Nasdaq having its worst day since February, which dragged on London with Footsie down 49 at 7,364 in early trades. Standard Chartered led the retreat as the Asia-focused bank reported a sharp drop in profit in the third quarter, taking a hit from its exposure to Chinese banking and real estate, although the bank backed its annual guidance. WPP was also under pressure as the ad agency warned full-year revenue and profit margins would be lower than expected, as advertising spending fell in North America and China remained weak. Slightly better was Marmite and Ben & Jerry's owner Unilever, which reported price growth continued to ease in the third quarter as it unveiled a 5.2% rise in underlying sales. A takeover battle might be on the way at Wagamama owner Restaurant Group with Pizza Express said to be interested in taking it away. Restaurant has already agreed a £500m bid from private equity group Apollo. Among the small caps, Kromek shares marched 24% higher after it reported winning a US$5.9m contract from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to research and develop biosecurity technologies. #ProactiveInvestors #marketreport #ftse100 #nasdaq #alphabet #google #standardcharteredbank #wpp #unilever #pizzaexpress #wagamama #kromek #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

Kromek Group PLC (AIM:KMK) CEO Arnab Basu speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after releasing final results for the year ended 30 April 2023, a period he describes as "in many ways a landmark year for Kromek." Basu says that it was a year of "very strong growth" and gives an overview of how it was achieved, speaking with reference to the group's post-Covid "growth journey." He also highlights what he calls a significant improvement in margins and notes that much of the revenue growth came from product sales, indicating a shift away from development contracts. Looking ahead, Basu suggests that Kromek's sectors remain strong, with advanced imaging benefiting from an ageing population's demand for better healthcare and the need for improved diagnostics. On the other side of the business, Basu is also upbeat on the prospects for Kromek's Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) arm due to increasing security demands driven by global political instabilities. #ProactiveInvestors #KromekGroup #CEOInterview #BusinessGrowth #RevenueGrowth #TransformativeYear #LandmarkYear #AdvancedImaging #CBRN #MedicalImaging #PhotonCounting #Healthcare #SecurityServices #GlobalPolitics #DefenceSpending #SustainableGrowth #EBITDA #Commercialization #ProductTraction #CustomerWins #MarketDrivers #FutureOutlook #InvestmentOpportunity #ProactivInterview #ProactivShow #BusinessNews #Technology #Innovation #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
