Galen Clavio and Scott Caulfield open with a quick detour into Olympic hockey chaos, then dive into two big Indiana topics.First: Indiana football's new reality—Curt Cignetti's massive contract extension, what it signals about IU's willingness to spend like a true power, and why the next phase has to include real Memorial Stadium upgrades to match the program's new level. The guys also discuss the NCAA's latest bout of pettiness and why the Louis Moore injunction chatter isn't something Hoosiers should lose sleep over. Then it's basketball: Indiana's week goes sideways with losses at Illinois and a 29-point blowout at Purdue (the biggest margin in the series since 1969). They break down why IU's early offensive stagnation doomed the game, the troubling defensive trendlines, and why the path to the NCAA Tournament is suddenly far narrower than it looked a couple weeks ago.

Money doesn't become geopolitical overnight. It becomes geopolitical when the rails start to change. In this episode of MoneyNeverSleeps, Pete Townsend is joined by Sean Lee for a focused conversation on what China is really building with the digital yuan and why this moment is about infrastructure, not currency replacement.Drawing on recent meetings with the People's Bank of China, Sean explains how the digital yuan is moving beyond a domestic CBDC experiment toward offshore settlement, trade finance, and geopolitical optionality. Rather than replacing the dollar, China appears to be building parallel rails designed to keep trade moving in a more fragmented world. This is not a CBDC hype episode. It's a grounded discussion about trade, trust, gold, and how digital infrastructure reshapes global money flows. We cover:• Why the digital yuan is shifting from onshore use to offshore settlement• How trade, geopolitics, and optionality are driving new money rails• Why gold still matters in a digital financial system• Where stablecoins, CBDCs, and tokenised deposits coexist• What founders should be building for as interoperability becomes multi-dimensionalIf you're a founder, operator, or investor trying to understand where global finance is actually heading beyond headlines and hype, this episode is worth your time.⏱️ Timestamps00:00 – The next money rails01:00 – From domestic CBDC to offshore settlement02:40 – Trade, geopolitics, and optionality04:00 – Incentives vs mandates05:00 – Gold, trade flows, and Asia's role07:30 – Digital RMB and new denominations09:00 – Gold-backed stablecoins and layered money10:30 – Stablecoins, CBDCs, and tokenised deposits11:45 – What founders should focus on next13:30 – Closing thoughts
Hello, hello — and welcome back to Greedy Bitch, the podcast for groomers who are done apologizing for wanting more. I'm your host, River Lee, founder of The Savvy Groomer — and today's conversation might feel a little uncomfortable… …but in the best way. Because we're talking about golden handcuffs. And before you tense up or immediately think, “Oh, this probably isn't about me,” I want you to just stay open for a second. Golden handcuffs are sneaky. They don't show up when you're broke and desperate. They don't show up when your books are empty. They show up when: Your business technically works Your schedule is full Your bills are paid And everyone on the outside thinks you're doing great But inside? You're tired. You're irritated. You feel stuck. And there's this quiet, low-grade resentment that keeps bubbling up. You're not failing. You're not irresponsible. And you're definitely not lazy. You're just realizing that “working” and “working well” are not the same thing. And if that realization makes your stomach drop a little? This episode is for you. Let's define it — plainly. Golden handcuffs are when: Your income looks okay Your schedule is full Your clients are “fine” And you still feel trapped You tell yourself things like: “I can't change anything right now.” “I need the money.” “At least it's stable.” “I'll fix it later.” But here's the truth nobody wants to say out loud: Stability without sustainability is just burnout with better branding. Golden handcuffs are not about being rich. They're about being dependent. Dependent on: Certain clients you're scared to lose Certain price points that barely work Certain chaos you've learned how to survive A version of yourself that's always exhausted but “handling it” And the longer you stay there, the harder it feels to imagine anything different. Because your business doesn't feel optional anymore. It feels like a requirement. An obligation. A responsibility you can't set down. And that's the part that feels heavy. Not the work. The lack of choice. Here's the part nobody likes to admit — and I say this with so much compassion: Sometimes we stay stuck because it's familiar. Not comfortable. Familiar. You know how to survive here. You know how to overwork. You know how to push through. You know how to ignore your body and your needs. And there's a weird safety in that. Because changing means: Risk Discomfort Boundaries Conversations Letting go of clients Raising prices Admitting the current model isn't actually working And groomers? We are exceptionally good at endurance. Hard work has always been the solution. Until it isn't. Golden handcuffs thrive on beliefs like: “If I just work harder, it'll eventually feel better.” “Once I hit this number, I'll slow down.” “I just need to get through this season.” But here's the uncomfortable truth: Hard work fixes under-earning. It does not fix broken systems. And the thing about golden handcuffs? They don't feel urgent. You're not drowning. You're just… slowly suffocating. And that's harder to respond to. Let's talk money — specifically. Because golden handcuffs are usually built quietly, over time. They're built on: Underpricing “just for now” Overbooking to make up the difference Tips filling the gap instead of pricing No clear budgeting system No long-term plan for you, not just the business You might be thinking: “I can't afford to raise prices.” “I can't afford to slow down.” “I can't afford to say no.” But what you really can't afford… …is staying here forever. Because the cost of golden handcuffs isn't just financial. It's: Your body breaking down Your nervous system living in constant alert Your relationships getting whatever energy is left Your creativity disappearing Your future options shrinking When your income depends on constant output, you haven't built freedom. You've built a cage. A shiny one. A respectable one. A socially acceptable one. But it's still a cage. Here's the good news — and please hear this: Breaking golden handcuffs does not mean: Quitting tomorrow Burning bridges Starting over from scratch Blowing up your life Freedom doesn't come from chaos. It comes from intention. Breaking golden handcuffs starts with choice. Choice looks like: Choosing to raise prices strategically, not emotionally Choosing systems over survival Choosing planning over panic Choosing long-term stability over short-term comfort Sometimes it means: Learning how to manage money differently Creating boundaries that protect your energy Building buffers instead of white-knuckling Adding a new skillset or income stream Getting support instead of doing everything alone And no — none of this happens overnight. But every small, intentional decision loosens the grip. You don't take the handcuffs off all at once. You unlock them. One click at a time. As we wrap up, I want you to sit with this question — honestly: If nothing changed this year… would you be okay with that? Same schedule. Same income. Same stress. Same pace. If the answer is no? That's not greed. That's self-respect. New Year, New Money isn't about hustling harder. It's about building a business that supports your life — not traps you inside it. Golden handcuffs only work if you keep wearing them. And you are allowed to take them off. If today's episode hit close to home, take a breath. You're not behind. You're not broken. And you're not ungrateful for wanting more. You're just noticing that the way you're working right now isn't sustainable — even if the money looks “fine” on paper. And that awareness? That's the first step to freedom. January's New Year, New Money theme is about making intentional money decisions — not reacting, not white-knuckling, and not staying stuck because “at least it works.” If you're realizing you might be wearing golden handcuffs, here are a few next steps: If pricing is what's keeping you trapped, the Price Increase Masterclass walks you through how to raise prices confidently and strategically — without panic or guilt. You can find it at savvygroomer.com/pimc If your income feels chaotic or inconsistent, Personal Finance on a Leash helps you build money systems that actually support your life. You can find it at savvygroomer.com/enroll And if you need clarity around where your time and money are really going, the Paws & Prioritize Planner gives you simple visibility without overwhelm. You can find it at savvygroomer.com/planner Next week, pay attention to how your income feels — not just what the numbers say. Because New Year, New Money isn't about hustling harder. It's about building a business that gives you options. Stay savvy. Stay greedy. And never apologize for wanting more.

Hello, hello — and welcome back to Greedy Bitch, the podcast for groomers who are done apologizing for wanting more. I'm your host, River Lee — founder of The Savvy Groomer — and if this is your first time here, let me just say: welcome. You're in the right place if you love grooming… but you're tired of being exhausted, underpaid, and quietly resentful about it. Now listen — we're kicking off January with our New Year, New Money theme. So today felt like the perfect time to talk about something groomers have a LOT of feelings about… ✨ Tips. Cash tips. Card tips. The “oh my god they tipped me $40 I love them forever” tips. The “why didn't they tip me at all?” spiral. The guilt. The gratitude. The confusion. And before we go any further, let me say this clearly:

Send us a textMOPB-Queens, Corsets & the Palm Beach RulebookMembers Only: Palm Beach – Season 1, Episodes 1 & 2“Welcome to Palm Beach” & “Will the Real Queen Please Stand Up?” – Combined SummaryThe series opens by establishing Palm Beach as a glittering battleground where money, manners, and mentorship determine social survival. At the center is Hilary Musser, a longtime Palm Beach fixture, real estate powerhouse, and five-time wife who proudly claims she's “self-made” despite her billionaire marriages. She hosts an ultra-exclusive party tied to the 1000 Miglia race, complete with half a billion dollars' worth of cars—setting the tone for who belongs and who doesn't.Enter Ro-Mina Ustayev, a flashy, self-made multimillionaire newcomer with a $42 million exit and zero interest in shrinking herself. Dubbed the “Palm Beach Kim Kardashian,” she quickly becomes the town's lightning rod—too loud, too sexy, too confident, too new.Ro-Mina is pulled in competing directions by three would-be mentors:Rosalyn Yellin, a fast-rising philanthropist obsessed with Palm Beach rules, decorum, and appearancesHilary Musser, who offers polished guidance while quietly judging Ro-Mina's nails, outfits, and volumeMaria Cozamanis (DJ Tumbles), the blunt truth-teller who warns Ro-Mina about transactional friendships and social gatekeepingEpisode 2 raises the stakes at the Palm Event launch party, where Ro-Mina arrives in a black leather corset and ruffled skirt—promptly becoming the punchline of the night. The message is clear: conform or be iced out.The simmering rivalry between Hilary and Rosalyn explodes into the open. Hilary openly snubs Rosalyn, while Maria suggests Hilary feels threatened by how quickly Rosalyn has built social power. Hilary fires back in confessional, dismissing Rosalyn as someone with “no substance” because she doesn't work.Rosalyn's authority is reinforced through her relationship with Palm Beach royalty Gale Brophy, a 40-year social fixture who literally passes Rosalyn a ceremonial baton, symbolizing her blessing to take over as the next queen. Gale warns Rosalyn to be careful who she mentors—kindness can come back to bite. That warning proves prophetic at Rosalyn's high tea, a full-blown etiquette minefield. Fascinators, designers, and legacy are on display as Ro-Mina struggles to keep up—forgetting Gale's name, cracking jokes at the wrong moments, declaring COVID “a blessing,” and clapping loudly when Gale is crowned the OG Queen of Palm Beach. Rosalyn is mortified as the group openly scolds Ro-Mina for being loud, inappropriate, and unaware of “time and place.”Despite trying to learn the rules, Ro-Mina realizes the standards keep shifting depending on who's judging her.The tension finally culminates in a tense lunch between Hilary and Rosalyn, where Hilary arrives late and confrontational. She makes it clear they'll never be close—but insists they must coexist civilly. Rosalyn pushes back, asking to be judged on truth, not rumors.By the end of Episode 2, Palm Beach's hierarchy is clear: There's an old queen, a rising queen, and a wildcard newcomer who refuses to dim her light—no matter how many people tell her to lower her voice.Support the showhttps://www.wewinewhenever.com/

When was the last time the person approving your business loan picked up their own phone? In this episode, Matt and Lou sit down with Keith Costello, who built Locality Bank from the ground up, a tech‑forward community bank for real business owners. They dive into his "why," the nuts‑and‑bolts of launching a bank, the future of stable coins, and why the big banks aren't always the best choice for entrepreneurs.
In Part 2 of this intimate conversation, Shari continues her discussion with Carl Richards, the New York Times “Sketch Guy.” If Part 1 was about the behavior behind money, Part 2 is about the beliefs behind your life. Carl opens up about how his simple sketches began, how a single comment from his wife reshaped his entire career, and why permission—not math—is often the missing piece in big financial and life decisions. He shares unforgettable stories, including the woman who left her prestigious Wall Street law job to return home and help her father run the family farm—because Carl granted her the “permission” she already had inside her. Shari and Carl also dig into fear, impostor syndrome, our inherited money stories, and why most of us wait far too long to trust what we know is true about our lives. This is the kind of conversation you don't just listen to—you feel it. You'll walk away with: – Why permission is often the bridge between intention and action – The emotional patterns that keep people stuck – How fear shows up at every major life moment – The story behind Carl's famous sketches – The one money belief Carl would give his 25-year-old self – Shari's own reflections on her younger self —and what she wishes she knew Shari closes the episode by sharing how Carl's influence shaped her practice, her philosophy, and the human-centered way she guides clients inside GWA Wealth. XRP: FLARE Drops BIG Upgrades — NEW MONEY Coming In | Protecting The Republic From Sedition Today we cover two major fronts: massive crypto developments and growing threats to the American Republic.
Dave talks about his fun new idea to make some extra money.
The Popular Old Money Style 受欢迎的老钱风“老钱”的翻译很直白,就是“old money”。 The old money aesthetic is basically everywhere online. There is even a thing called “老钱风笑声(old money laugh)”. 主播Selah就曾刷到过一个搞笑的(hilarious)视频:a rich man laughing with his cat on the golf course. “Old money(老钱)”它不仅是一种财富背景,也是一种生活方式和美学。02. What Exactly is Old Money? 什么是老钱风?“Old money”和普通的money还不一样,因为the money is old! It's inherited (继承下的) wealth, which is very different from “new money (新贵)”. “New money”就是指那些靠个人努力或新兴产业(newer industries)致富的人,比如,从事互联网行业、在娱乐圈工作的人,或者是成为体育明星的人。Old money和new money所以虽然都是“money”,但他们在观念、生活方式甚至是穿衣风格上都会有所差别。这几个场景绝对是old money的代表:私人飞机(private jets)、游艇(yachts)、庄园(family estates),还有马球比赛(polo matches)。But what's funny is - they never show off (炫耀)!02. The Old Money Lifestyle “老钱”的生活方式Their wealth is quiet, elegant (优雅的), and subtle (含蓄的). Even their laughter sounds sophisticated (高级的). There's a phrase: “Money talks. Wealth whispers. (金钱喧闹,财富低语。)” 这是一种“安静的奢华(quiet luxury)”。It perfectly captures the idea of old money. 因为那些flashy trends大家都看多了,people are tired of them,所以才会格外喜欢old money aesthetic——这种平静(calm)、永恒(timeless)还有点神秘色彩(mysterious)的风格。 (That outfit was definitely expensive)。This is what people call “quiet luxury (静奢风)”. 其实老钱不光是一种穿搭,it's also about how you carry yourself (展示自己). It's about attitude (态度) — calm, confident, polite.03. Old Money vs. New Money in Movies 经典影视里的“老钱”与“新贵”主播Flora发现在很多经典影片里都能找到Old money的身影。 电影中男主有一句台词是:“East Coast people are different.”。East Coast(东海岸)就是美国“old money”的地盘(the home turf),像the Kennedys, the Rockefellers, the Vanderbilts等,这些都是老牌世家。Meanwhile, the West Coast (西海岸) is the home turf of “new money”. 在另一部电影The Great Gatsby(《了不起的盖茨比》)当中也能看到“old money”和“new money”的对比:1) 电影中的Tom Buchanan - old money 2) 小李子饰演的Gatsby - new money但尽管Gatsby再努力融入(trying to fit in)那个“老钱”的世界,he is still an outsider (局外人)。04. The Composed Aura of Old Money Old money is not only about the money, the cloths, and also the background (背景) and manners (礼仪). “老钱”有自己的一整套生活方式(a whole lifestyle)。它包括健康的皮肤(healthy skin)、自律(discipline),你受过的教育(education)以及quiet confidence。所有这一切blend together(结合在一起), 才会形成一种自如的优雅(a natural elegance)。Quite confidence:沉着的自信它来自你内心深处,无需要言语、行动来证明。It's about taking care of yourself, being grounded, and never trying too hard. Everyone can have that vibe (气场)!
