In my opinion the prophecy in Daniel 7 is the one single greatest prophecy in the entire Bible. I believe if we do not have a proper understanding of Daniel 7, then we will not be able to understand the other critical prophecies in the Bible. In this lesson you'll learn to recognize and challenge the unhelpful thoughts that hold you back.Key ideas:1️⃣ Rationalizations are justifications we create to avoid tasks and give ourselves permission to procrastinate.2️⃣ Rationalizations follow a pattern of identifying a truth about the situation and drawing an unhelpful conclusion. Unhelpful conclusions harm us in the long run by deluding us into waiting for a "perfect time" to start a task.3️⃣ Recognizing and challenging rationalizations is a crucial skill, often used in cognitive-behavioral therapy.4️⃣ Overcoming rationalizations and making progress on tasks involves three steps: noticing the rationalization, checking the evidence supporting the conclusion, and generating a more helpful alternative conclusion.Download Doer: overcome procrastination

What's up my Kate's Take listeners! I'm fired up to be here with you today! Today is day 93 of 100. I'm excited to share my sixth lesson with you, which is about clear communication! First, let's call on our 5 questions. These questions are the bookends to your day - answer 1 and 2 in the morning, and 3 - 5 at night. What's one thing I'm grateful for? What's one thing I'll accomplish today that will bring me one step closer to my goal? What's something that's working well for me right now? What's something that's not working well for me right now? How can I either solve what's not working right now, or get rid of it? This is the beauty of reflecting back and looking at what's working and what's not working. When you give yourself time and space to do so, you can come up with really amazing ideas and plans for future projects, especially when it comes to identifying things that aren't working - just like I've done today! Also, because I've strongly considered running this 100 day goal challenge in the future, I now have a great plan laid out for how to best communicate and market it leading up to and throughout the challenge! I hope you found value in today's episode on my sixth lesson learned from our 100 day goal challenge. As always, don't hesitate to reach out to me and share your wins - and your struggles. I'm kate@eofire.com or katelerickson on Instagram. We're also have conversations DAILY about our 100 Day Goal Challenge in our private Facebook Group - visit EOFire.com/facebook to join us today.

Luke 15 contains three parables, and the themes are repentance and joy. The third parable about the prodigal son does something different than the previous two. Instead of using the words repent and joy, we get to see repentance and joy demonstrated by the father and son. The son is never said to repent, but we get an answer to the question, "What does repentance look like?" by examining his actions. This allows us to draw out wonderful lessons about to apply to our lives. https://youtu.be/4h1Guo_f6Ro The prodigal son is never said to repent, but we get an answer to the question, "What does repentance look like?" by examining his actions. Table of ContentsFamily Worship GuideSermon NotesGenuine repentance (Lesson One) seeks to return to the Father.Genuine repentance (Lesson Two) takes responsibilityGenuine repentance (Lesson Three) uses the word, “sin.”.Genuine repentance (Lesson Four) knows the sin is against God.Genuine repentance (Lesson Five) accepts the consequences of sin.Genuine repentance (Lesson Six) produces a change in direction.Genuine repentance (Lesson Seven) gives hope. Family Worship Guide Directions: Read the verses and then answer the questions: Day 1: Luke 15:18, 2 Samuel 12:13 cf. 1 Samuel 13:11-12, 15:15-16—Why was the son finally willing to return to his father? What application does this have for us? What are some mistakes we make with our confessions that the son avoided?Day 2: Genesis 39:8-9, Psalm 51:3-4, Luke 15:19—What did the son do in his confession that was worth imitating? How is the world removing the word sin from our vernacular? Why is all sin against God even when it looks like we are sinning against someone else?Day 3: 15:15-16 cf. Luke 15:17-19—What does it mean that we can be forgiven but still have consequences? Can you provide some examples? In what ways did the son show that he was willing to accept the consequences of his sin? In what ways does repentance give hope? Sermon Notes The title of this morning's sermon is, “What Does Repentance Look Like?” On Sunday mornings we're working our way through Luke's gospel verse by verse and we find ourselves at Luke 15:18. Please stand with me for the reading of God's Word. We will start at verse 11 for context. Luke 15:11 And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.' And he divided his property between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. 17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”' 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. You may be seated. Let's pray. Look at verse 18… Luke 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. Notice the words, “I will set out and go back to my father.” And this brings us to lesson one… Genuine repentance (Lesson One) seeks to return to the Father. It seems like the son tried going just about every other place he could. He was even willing to hire himself out to a Gentile and feed his pigs. But, finally,

March 13, 2022 Evening Service. What Does God Say About Prayer?. Part of the Truth or Myth series.
How do we be more on purpose, and less on point and create learning with rigour but not rigidity? How do we elevate voice, choice and initiative knowing that as we do so we create more freedom and more responsibility? In this episode of our 10-part special series on Learner Agency we discuss how students bring agency to life. This is the sixth lesson for agency shared by global education expert Charlie Leadbeater in conversation with educators from three different schools across South Australia. In our conversation we blend the conceptual with the concrete, exploring philosophy, practice and product and hear how schools have journeyed towards activating agency in their community. Two brilliant teachers join us for our conversation today: John Dow of Tatachilla Lutheran College, and Nic Massacci of Mt Barker Waldorf School. We discuss what purposeful learning looks like and how identity meets intent - when who we are powerfully intersects with what we want to achieve. As our educator colleagues share their learning journeys, both inner and outer, we discuss the connection between values and achievement, how they endure and evolve, and how if we connect purpose, commitment, and reflection we can create high agency learning experiences that lead to increased growth and mastery. This series is a special collaboration between The Learning Future and AISSA: The Association of Independent Schools of South Australia. Each of these ten podcast episode correspond to one of 10 lessons on Learning Agency from the soon to be published Centre for Strategic Education Paper authored by Charlie LeadBeater. We hope you enjoy our conversation, creat new patterns.See more: https://www.ais.sa.edu.au/events/student-agency-lab-three-year-project/ Transcript available upon request. Show don't tell. Well, no, actually – show AND tell. This lesson explores different ways of presenting a scene, with tips from the Yiddish writer, Isaac Bashevis Singer, playwright Harold Pinter, and a wonderfully creepy fairy tale from Angela Carter.
