Lois & Clark superfan Chris Ludovici (Lois & Clark & Chris & Ronnie) joins Ronnie on the podcast today as they discuss "Risky Business", perhaps one of the most maliciously stupid episodes of Criminal Minds. The BAU is called in to investigate suicides that are actually the culprit of a choking website compels kids in nowheresville Wyoming to choke themselves competitively. Why would someone make such a website and how does it work? Ronnie and Chris discuss that and other topics, as talking about Criminal Minds for too long is hazardous for one's health.
In this episode we discuss the fight between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor on "Superman & Lois", "Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story" now available on digital, Eve Ridley cast as Ruthye Mary Knolle in the "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" movie, Sasha Calle's bittersweet journey as Supergirl, Cruiseville "Smallville" Cruise, your favorite Supergirl statues and action figures, and much more.
There is a rumble in Smallville. Lead Armed Lex verses Can Do Clark. Who will come out on top When The Lights Come On? With his daughter, Elizabeth, pushing him out of her life, all Lex has is his hatred for Lois & Clark. Lex wants to move the Lex Corp headquarters to Smallville. But the citizens of the town are standing up to his offers with Mayor Lana Lang leading the charge. So, Lex sends Otis to silence her for good. Luckily, Slugger Sarah wakes up and comes to her rescue using a baseball bat that Kyle insisted they keep near them. Sarah is thinking about taking a year of studying abroad to find herself. Jon & Jordan offer to fly her around to find the perfect place. Jordan is trying to find work since he is not in the superhero business. Jon is overextending himself pulling off saves all over the world before breakfast. They need to team up and find some balance. Lex has Brainiac/Milton Fine make some red Kryptonite bulbs for Smallville's streetlamps. Lex's actions have pushed Clark past the reasoning stage, and a street brawl insues. With no powers to call upon, the playing field is even and Lex gets the upper hand in the fight early. But Clark having learned a thing or two about duking it out, counters Lex and reverses his moves to gain the high ground and put him down for the count! Susan and Sharon sit down with the co-creator of “Scarecrow & Mrs. King” - Eugenie Ross-Leming - to get some real behind-the-scenes insight on the Kate Jackson action comedy, feminism in television, and managing long-term success in Hollywood. The discussion includes… - Eugenie's early years with the legendary improvisation troupe Second City, where she performed with the likes of John Belushi, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray. - Writing for Norman Lear on the ground-breaking late-night serials “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” starring Louise Lasser and creating “Fernwood 2 Night” starring Martin Mull and Fred Willard. - How she and writing partner Brad Buckner first pitched “Scarecrow & Mrs. King” to CBS -- and failed to sell it – only to have their luck change when junior executive Carla Singer was promoted and brought them back for another shot. - Working with Kate Jackson and the last-minute casting of Bruce Boxleitner. - Details on the wild days of producing the “Scarecrow” pilot – and her and Brad's decision to leave the highly successful hit series they created.Along the way, we'll hear about the importance of staying true to your vision, the lessons learned over a forty-year career that spans “Scarecrow” to “Lois & Clark” to “Supernatural” -- and the sustaining power of two of the most important relationships in her life: her longtime writing partner Brad Buckner, and her husband, Director and Producer Robert Singer.
