Valerie flies into Miami after receiving a worrisome call from her Goddaughter, Lynette, and tries to help out Yvonne, but, things only unravel more once Swain is not content with taking Yvonne's money and dealing with her late payments. He suggests something very sinister, her daughter, which Yvonne agrees to. Yvonne ends up dead and Lynette is refusing to ID Swain or talk to anyone about what happened, which tickles Sonny's Spidey senses. Switek descends back into gambling, while Rico, the only happy person in this epsiode - albeit momentarily - can't see the forest through the trees because he's just so excited to have Valerie back. This week on Miami Vice: Al Lombard (Dennis Farina) is back! He has come back to Miami to reunite with Sal (re-cast since Season 1) and maybe settle an old score....? His son gets into some trouble, despite being told he is in real estate wink, and wants to help out his son but, unfortunately is too late. Lombard figures it's not too late to help Tommy, his grandson. Sal's widow and Tommy's mom doesn't want him near Tommy, so Lombard gets creative and honestly, it's very sweet seeing Lombard in Nonno mode. How far will Lombard be willing to go to avenge his son and square things up with the Librizzis? Editor's Note: If you're following along to the episode count on the DVDs, this is not the correct order. I even mess it up in the intro lol. This is one of the "Lost Episodes". From Wyoming cowboy to Marine, from Vietnam veteran to Hollywood star—Larry Wilcox has lived a dozen lives in one. Best known as Officer Jon Baker on CHiPs, Wilcox joins Steve Kmetko for a revealing conversation about his childhood, his military service, the pop culture explosion of CHiPs, and what really went on behind the scenes with co-star Erik Estrada. In this wide-ranging interview, Wilcox reflects on the culture shock of leaving small-town Wyoming for Beverly Hills, the highs and lows of Hollywood stardom, and the reality of keeping a hit show alive in the late '70s and early '80s. He opens up about performing stunts, surviving near-death moments, navigating on-set tension, and even being forced off the show at the height of its success. Beyond CHiPs, Wilcox shares candid stories about his service in Vietnam, losing his sister to tragedy, living with PTSD, and why he ultimately found peace in business, aviation, and new creative ventures. In this episode: Growing up in Wyoming and chasing Hollywood dreams Becoming a Marine, Vietnam memories, and life-changing loss How he landed CHiPs—and why it was the hardest role of his career Behind-the-scenes with Erik Estrada: chemistry, conflict, and reconciliation Hair-raising stunt stories and near-death experiences The pop culture phenomenon of CHiPs—and what happened when he left Reflections on fame, humility, and building a life after television It's more than just a nostalgic trip down TV memory lane—it's the unflinching life story of a Marine turned pop culture icon who's still here to tell it all. They get news that their budgets are being cut by Captain Highsmith, who is making a run for County Supervisor, and naturally are pissed off. They try to get close to an NY dealer, Reginald Hawkins, but one of his goons, gets in the way, and then Crockett and Tubbs are whisked away by a group of suits. The suits are part of a shadowy network of vigilante cops who are tired of seeing criminals through the cracks and who have seen the shortcomings first hand. As the group tries to close in on the new source that Vice is after - Escalante - we see the lines get more and more blurred. When does the pursuit of justice cross into criminal behaviour itself and what happens when you're in too deep to get out? The movie that is making some noise at the indie level is about the scandal that rocked 1984: Michael Larson took on Press Your Luck and walked away with $110,237 (roughly $339,000) in cash and prizes! Although the movie has a fun idea, there really isn't enough meat on the bones of this, but I still wanted to talk about it. Join in the fun as I talk about 1984, the culture of the time and what led to Larson never landing on the dreaded whammy in his 47 spins! If you're not doing so already, please like and follow Classic American Movies on Instagram and Facebook. I do free movie giveaways, mini movie reviews and more! Check out the Pears page for updates.  Also, I decided to dabble in making my own slasher film entitled “Bishop's Day”. Episode 315: “Everything I Ever Learned About TV Writing, I Learned From ‘The Facts Of Life' | Anupam Nigam”The Facts of Learning about Television Writing from The Facts of LifeThe Golden Girls of Eastland: TV Writer Anupam Nigam Shares His Lessons from The Facts Of LifeThe Golden Girls of Eastland: Top Lessons TV Writer Anupam Nigam Learned from The Facts Of Life For some people, a childhood spent lounging in front of the television leads to nothing but being sent to bed when Law and Order license plate comes on. But for Anupam Nigam, it led to a lifelong love of television – – and a successful career in TV writing and producing.  And his favorite show of all? The Facts of Life! The Facts of Life was a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes and aired on NBC from 1979-1988. The show starred Charlotte Rae as Eastland School for Girls housemother Edna Garrett watching over an evolving cast of young female stars including Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Nancy McKeon and a very young Molly Ringwald! It ran for more than 200 episodes, and spawned three TV movies. Anupam Nigam has written and produced episodes of hit TV shows like Psych, Defiance, Cruel Summer, Mech-X4 and Station 19. He is currently writer and co-executive producer of the hit CBS drama Fire Country. Susan and Sharon talk with Anupam about his childhood as an Indian American kid in New Jersey, his early love of television, the insight of The Facts of Life -- and the facts he learned that have stayed with him to this day. THE CONVERSATIONGROWING UP INDIAN -- IN NEW JERSEY: For Anupam, who was raised in an immigrant Indian household, television was a window into the wider world of “American” families - and how they were alike, and different from, his.“I'M NOT A DOCTOR, BUT I WRITE FOR THEM ON TV” -- Anupam was pre-med, a lab researcher, and even a certified EMT -- briefly -- before realizing that TV blood was more his style.Anupam's first script was a spec episode of Star Trek: Voyager -- and after that he was hooked.Anupam's “scientist mind” cracked the code on how to write a Law & Order script, and it led to a coveted spot in the Warner Bros Writers Program -- and then a big move to Hollywood! His first job was on The Division -- starring Facts of Life's Nancy McKeon!YOU TAKE THE GOOD, YOU TAKE THE VERY, VERY BAD: Anupam actually learned about the facts of life from the many “very special” episodes The Facts of Life: Abortion, divorce, drug abuse and death, anyone?Natalie was a natural STAR - When Charlotte Rae toured Westlake School for research, her young tour guide was… Mindy Cohn. Charlotte insisted the producers meet her and the role of Natalie was created for her! Those roller-skates? Tootie had to wear them to make her taller!CHEAPER BY THE… TEN? The original first season cast had TEN main characters - The seven girls, Mrs. Garett (Charlotte Rae), teacher Emily Mahoney (Jenny O'Hara) and Headmaster Stephen Bradley (played by John Lawlor). The OG Eastlake students: Blair Warner (Lisa Whelchel), Nancy Olsen (Felice Schachter), Sue Anne Weaver (Julie Piekarski), Tootie Ramsey (Kim Fields), Molly Parker (Molly Ringwald), Cindy Webster (Julie Anne Haddock) and Natalie Green (Mindy Cohn).…AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR. After season one, the young cast was cut from seven girls down to the “Core Four”: Lisa Whelchel as Blair, Kim Fields as Tootie, Mindy Cohn as Natalie and bringing on newcomer Nancy McKeon as Jo Polniaczek. So, join Susan and Sharon -- and Anupam! -- as they talk Shondaland, The Golden Girls, shoulder pads, tea-time, Jermaine Jackson, Mech x4, Geri Jewel, Entertainment Weekly -- and “Who Shot J.R?”! AUDIO-OGRAPHY Follow Anupam Nigam: Instagram.com/anupamnigam1 and Twitter.com/anupamnigam Watch Season 4 of The Facts of Life for free at Roku.Watch Fire Country on CBS.  Check out CitizensforEthics.org Buy Democracy Awakening by Heather Cox Richardson at Bookshop.org PLUS -- “80's TV LADIES” MERCH is available at our SHOP!    CONNECTVisit 80sTVLadies.com for transcripts.Join the conversation at Facebook.com/80sTVLadies.Sign up for the 80s TV Ladies mailing list.In Honor of President Carter and to learn more about his presidency: Get Susan's new play about him and his Crisis of Confidence speech: Confidence (and the Speech) at Broadway Licensing. BREAKING NEWS! We're NOMINATED by The Podcast Academy Ambies for Best Indie Hosts!  Podcast Academy members, please VOTE for 80s TV Ladies at The Podcast Acadey voting.
