Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin and A&M's Jimbo Fisher square off
Texas A&M faces two bad choices: Swallow Jimbo Fisher's monstrous buyout, or stomach Fisher's ceaseless mediocrity. Get a bunch of oil tycoons in a room, and let's see how they react to this dilemma. The SEC's hot seat is cooking, and Fisher has company. Arkansas' Sam Pittman epitomizes how quickly a coach can descend from beloved to bewildered. Pittman froze up and goofed in a critical moment during the Razorbacks' sixth straight loss, an embarrassing 7-3 defeat Saturday to Mississippi State. Fan angst persists within other SEC locales, but the temperatures are hottest at Texas A&M and Arkansas. On today's episode, hosts Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams examine who is at greater risk of being fired first – Fisher or Pittman? Also, Dalton, Georgia, native Johnny Joey Jones, of Fox News Channel fame, pens a NYT best-selling book: "Unbroken Bonds Of Battle."

Rich comments on the possibility of the College Football Playoff taking over the running of big time CFB from the NCAA with a firm “I told you so.” Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey tells Rich why he's not fully on-board with a football-only super league for CFB and if he'd be interested in running the new organization if it were to come to fruition, explains why he's concerned about the misuse of unregulated NIL deals in college sports and how he addressed the recent war or words between Alabama's Nick Saban and Texas A&M's Jimbo Fisher, if the CFP will be expanding from its current 4-team format, and reveals that the SEC is not actively recruiting new schools but he'd consider further expansion if the right opportunity presented itself. This week Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are both on the podcast, just not at the same time. The show starts off with Ryan diving into all of the news and notes around the conference and college football starting with the emerging SEC head coaching feud between Alabama's Nick Saban and Texas A&M's Jimbo Fisher. Saban accused Fisher of buying all of the players in the Aggies's No. 1 ranked recruiting class and Fisher responded by calling Saban a narcissist that was lashing out because he's the college football czar that didn't get his way. Absolutely wonderful college football content in the middle of May. The big conference news came from commissioner George Kliavkoff on Wednesday when he announced that the Pac-12 Championship Game would no longer feature the top program from the North facing the top program from the South, instead opting for the two teams with the best conference winning percentage regardless of what division they reside in. This new rule would have altered the championship game participants in 5 of the last 11 seasons. Ryan also addresses the breaking news that Biletnikoff Award winning wide receiver Jordan Addison pulled the trigger and picked the Trojans for his final season in college football. Dave finishes off the show answering all of the listener questions from the past two weeks plus he talks about the report that stated Chip Kelly's offensive play cards while at Oregon were meaningless, used only for a distraction for the opponent. That's the second half of the pod. The first half of the pod is determining whether Notre Dame should be included in the group as a legit contender and part of the weekly discussion.
