USMANI DISCOURSES. English translation and explanation of talks by Mufti Taqi Usmani DB.
Allah Ta'ala says in the Noble Qur'an, “O you who believe, abstain from many of the suspicions. Some suspicions are sins. And do not be curious (to find out faults of others), and do not backbite one another. Does one of you like that he eats the flesh of his dead brother? You would abhor it. And fear Allah. Surely Allah is Most-Relenting, Very-Merciful.” (49:12)
USMANI DISCOURSES. English translation and explanation of talks by Mufti Taqi Usmani DB.
The Noble Qur'an says; “…and do not backbite one another. Does one of you like that he eats the flesh of his dead brother? You would abhor it…” (49:12) Once a Sahabi (companion) asked the Holy Prophet ﷺ, “O Prophet of Allah! If I am doing Gheebat about someone but what I am saying is true, is it still a sin?” The Holy Prophet ﷺ replied, “If what you are saying bad about a person is true and you are telling the truth, then it is Gheebat. But if what you are saying about him is not true and you are telling a lie, then you are also committing the sin of Bohtaan in addition to Gheebat.” In a Hadith, the Holy Prophet ﷺ has told us a remedy that can only come from a Messenger of Allah. If we follow this advice it would lead to peace and harmony in our society and abolition of all conflicts. That remedy is احب لا خیک ما تحب لنفسک واکرہ لغیرک ما یکرہ لنفسک It means that “like for your brother what you like for yourself, and dislike for your brother what you dislike for yourself.”

Purchase book from https://www.whitethreadpress.com/publication/with-the-noble-quran/ The beauty of this book ‘With the Noble Qur'an' is in the author's comprehensive compilation of Qur'anic verses, prophetic hadiths, and opinions of the traditional scholars on some of the main discussions surrounding the Qur'an. In ten chapters, he effectively covers the superiority of the Qur'an, the etiquette, rewards, and virtues of listening, reciting, and memorising it, the correct method of recitation, the ruling of using melody and of crying out of the fear of Allah, and the warning against forgetting the Qur'an, along with a satisfying discussion on its seven variant readings. It is difficult to emphasise how inspirational and valuable this book is for a lover of the Qur'an, a hafiz, and for anyone to whom we may want to explain the greatness of the Qur'an.

Al-Ma'idah 18-23, The Noble Qur'an (Juz'-6, Page-111) 5/Al-Ma'idah-18: And the Jews and the Christians said: “We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones”. Say: “Why does He then torment you for your sins”? Nay, you are human beings from among those whom He has created; He forgives whom He wills and torments whom He wills. And Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. And to Him is the arrival (place to reach is His presence). 5/Al-Ma'idah-195/Al-Ma'idah-19: O People of the Book! Indeed Our Messenger has come to you explaining the truth to you after a cessation of the Messengers (Prophets). Lest you say: “There did not come to us a giver of good news and a Warner”. Yet indeed there has come to you a giver of good news and a Warner. And Allah is Omnipotent. 5/Al-Ma'idah-205/Al-Ma'idah-20: And Moses said to his people: O my people! Remember the Blessing of Allah upon you, His raising Prophets among you and making you kings and giving you what He had not given to any other among the worlds. 5/Al-Ma'idah-215/Al-Ma'idah-21: O my people! Go into the holy land which Allah has ordained for you and do not turn on your backs (run away from enemy). Then you would turn into the state of the losers. 5/Al-Ma'idah-225/Al-Ma'idah-22: They said: “O Moses! Surely there is a tyrannical nation in there. Never shall we enter it until they go out from it. If they go out from it, then surely we will enter”. 5/Al-Ma'idah-235/Al-Ma'idah-23: Two men of those who feared, upon both of them Allah had bestowed a Blessing, said: “Enter upon them by the gate, for when you have entered it you shall be victorious. And put your trust in Allah if you are believers indeed”.

With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful. “…So, pardon them, and seek Forgiveness for them. Consult them in the matter and, once you have taken a decision, place your trust in Allah. Surely, Allah loves those who place their trust in Him.” (3:159) Consulting other people is a very important aspect of Deen (religion). While describing the characteristics of Muslims in the Noble Qur'an, Allah Ta'alah says; “…and whose affairs are (settled) with mutual consultation between them…” (42:38) In the verse recited at the beginning, Allah Ta'ala has commanded the Holy Prophet ﷺ; “…Consult them in the matter…” (3:159) When a person of the stature of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is being commanded by Allah Ta'ala to consult his Companions (Sahabah), then it is much more incumbent for people like us to do so. There are a few principles about consulting others. 1. The first principle is that we should only take an expert opinion from a person who has a full understanding of the matter we want their opinion on. When we consult such a person then Allah Ta'ala will Insha'Allah (God willing) grant us Barakah (blessing) in that matter. 2. The second thing to know regarding consulting others is what type of matters should one consult others about. We are not allowed to consult others about matters which have been Fard (compulsory), Wajib (necessary) or Haraam (unlawful) by Shariah. This is because we are bound to do what Shariah has declared Fard or Wajib, and we are required to abstain from matters that Shariah has declared Haraam. For example, it would be completely senseless if a person starts consulting other people whether he should pray Salah or not, or whether he should drink alcohol or not. 3. The third important point is that there are some duties of a person who is being consulted. In a Hadith, the Holy Prophet ﷺ said, “The person whose advice has been sough, has been entrusted.” (Tirmidhi) That is why, if a person is being consulted about something and he knows nothing about that area, he should clearly say that I know nothing about this matter and therefore I am unable to give you any advice. 4. There is another meaning of the Hadith “the person whose advice has been sought, has been entrusted” which is that the person who has come to us to seek our advice, has made us his confidante. He has shared his personal secrets with us, has told us their personal difficulties. He has placed his trust in us. Now we must not start sharing his personals secrets with everyone and start telling everyone what he told us in private. When someone has entrusted us with his sensitive information, and made us his confidante, then his personal information is an Amanah (entrustment) with us, it is our duty to keep his secret private. Sharing that secret with others would be a breach of his trust and humiliating a person publicly, both of which are great sins.

Allah Ta'ala says in the Noble Qur'an; “…and those who control anger and forgive people. And Allah loves those who are good in their deeds,” (3:134) Allah Ta'ala tells us in the Noble Qur'an what the reward for those will be who do not take revenge and observe Sabr (patience); “…Certainly those who observe patience will be given their reward in full without measure.” (39:10) The Holy Prophet ﷺ said, “Silah Rehmi (fulfilling rights of one's relatives) is not that one gives back what one receives. Silah Rehmi is that even if the other person cuts off relationship with him, he still fulfills the other person's rights.” In a Hadith the Holy Prophet ﷺ said; “Allah Ta'ala does not like any sip a person drinks more than the sip of his own anger (meaning suppressing his anger and not expressing it)” The Holy Prophet ﷺ said, "if a person harms someone, and then the person who was harmed forgives him, then Allah Ta'ala will forgive the forgiver on the day he will need forgiveness most, that is, in the Aakhirah (Hereafter).”

If a person observes Sabr (patience), then Allah Ta'ala has promised in the Holy Quran; “…Certainly those who observe patience will be given their reward in full without measure.” (39:10) Allah Ta'ala says in the Noble Qur'an; “And if you were to harm (them) in retaliation, harm them to the measure you were harmed. And if you opt for patience, it is definitely much better for those who are patient.” (16:126)

Treat going to the gym like going to the library too. In this video I discuss how I combine my time at the gym with various more passive activities mainly using different forms of audio input such as Arabic vocabulary, Podcasts, audiobooks, the Noble Qur'an and various adhkar (litanies/invocations/remembrances) to make my time there more productive. Going to the gym, with the right intention, can be a means of reward by its own. However, given that you will likely be able to complete your workout whilst also listening to some form of audio, it is definitely an avenue through which you can learn a lot. If you have a busy lifestyle,, this can afford you an extra 60-90 minutes that you would otherwise not make use of. Compounded over many weeks and months, you can calculate how much of a difference this could make to your mental input which makes up your mental diet and translates into what you produce. (

In this podcast I explain the basic and simple method of how to memorise a passage of the Noble Qur'an for the first time. I have come across various different methods with numbers involved "repeat the first line 8 times" etc - there is no special number to use. You simply repeat each part until you are able to recall it. This is a continuation of the playlist titled, " A Practical & Deep Guide on How to Memorize the Qur'an" which I will continue to build on in sha Allah The video may be useful with this episode as you will be able to see a passage from Surah Mulk on the screen. Surah Al-Anam (The Cattle ) is the sixth chapter of the Qur'an with 165 verses which were revealed all at once. Ustadh Michael Wolfender shares two verses or ayah from the Holy Qur'an which ultimately underscore the peace of Islam in its appropriate practice. Translations of the two ayah from Arabic are: "Indeed, Allah is the One Who causes seeds and fruit stones to sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. That is Allah! How can you then be deluded ˹from the truth˺?" (6:95)"Whoever Allah wills to guide, He opens their heart to Islam. But whoever He wills to leave astray, He makes their chest tight and constricted as if they were climbing up into the sky. This is how Allah dooms those who disbelieve." (6:125)Looking at the beginning of 6:95, we learn Allah as Our Creator is The One who opens seeds and causes soft saplings to grow. In the same way, Allah can open a believer's chest as true power is in being soft, not harsh. Power is in submitting to the Commands of Allah which allows the believer to be relaxed. In 6:125, Ustadh Michael uses the example of a hot air balloon and how the lighter air inside causes it to rise. Being guided in Islam provides relief, similar to how deep breathing provides relaxation. In doing this, you feel your chest expand when taking deep breaths. Islam is submitting to Allah to acheive peace. Without this relaxation, one's chest feels squeezed with worldly concerns, worries and fears. Using this same literal technique of breathing to expand your chest allows a believer to breathe when reciting the first chapter of the Noble Qur'an, Al Fatihah, to feel the connection in daily prayer. This draws a wave of relaxation throughout the body, expanding your chest as a believer submitting to Allah. Relaxation triggers hormones allowing your brain to be relaxed. Recite surah Al-Fatiha slowly. When you recite Qur'an slowly, you feel relaxed.Support the show (http://www.goodtreeacademy.org/donate?id=pd)
God tells us in the Qur’an that the origin of the human story began with the binary—Adam and Eve. God then assigned us nations and tribes in order that we might come to know one another and distinguish ourselves through virtue. The Virtues of the Noble Qurʾān Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on Friday 22nd September 2017 at Al Kawthar Academy, Leicester (UK) Video: https://youtu.be/nojKrvANPhc The recitation of the Qurʾān is emphasized for all, even for those who recite with difficulty. The effect of its recitation on both the reciter and those who listen is explained in this talk along with examples. Many of the Arabs, including those who were enemies of Islam, were affected by listening to the miraculous nature of the Qurʾān; to the extent that some went on to embrace Islam. Throughout history many individuals have occupied themselves with the recitation of the Qurʾān and turn to it especially during times of need. Allah has placed blessing in time for one who recites it and the angels surround those who recite the Qurʾān. The Qurʾān is not restricted to the wealthy, but the poor companions during the time of the Prophet ﷺ would often listen and practice the Qurʾān. This talk does much to help an individual recognise the miraculous nature of the Qurʾān and encourage them to start reading, even it may be a little. Below are some of the topics mentioned in this talk: - Why was the Prophet ﷺ unlettered? - The leaders who secretly listened to the Qurʾān - The power, eloquence and miraculous nature of the Qurʾān - Method of Jibril revising the Qurʾān with the Prophet ﷺ - Allah placing barakah in time - Homes where the Qurʾān is recited visible in the heavens - Reward for one who struggles to read the Qurʾān - Three dimensions of the Prophet's ﷺ relationship with the Qurʾān - Importance of acting on the Qurʾān ********************************************************************** Website: www.akacademy.org YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/alkawtharacademy Facebook: www.facebook.com/alkawtharacademy Twitter: www.twitter.com/alkawthar Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/alkawtharacademy **********************************************************************

The Evil Whisperers A Tafsir of Surat 'l Nas - Delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq on 30th March 2012 at Al Kawthar Academy (Leicester) Video: https://youtu.be/im8-u8DAEto Sūrat ʼl Falaq is considered to be one of the most recited Sūrahs of the Noble Qurʾān. It is regarded as an extremely virtuous and blessed Sūrah and it is one of the best sūrats ever to be revealed. The Prophet ﷺ says, ‘Allāh has revealed two sūrats to me this night, the likes of which have never been seen before. They are Sūrat ʼl Nās and Sūrat ʼl Falaq’. [Ṭabrānī] Along with lessons and wisdoms, these sūrats also have protecting, guarding and preserving qualities. For this reason, the Prophet ﷺ himself would seek refuge in Allāh from the evil eye of men and Jinn by reciting these two sūrahs. [Tirmidhī] This particular sūrah begins with mention of daybreak and the evils of all that Allāh has created. The subsequent verses are about the evils of the night, witchcraft, sorcery and magic. The sūrah is concluded with the mention of the evil and disastrous effects of envy. Appreciate and value the words of Allāh by listening to a detailed exegesis of this sūrah. By developing a deep understanding of this sūrah and its application our worship will become more meaningful. ********************************************************************** Website: www.akacademy.org/ YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/alkawtharacademy Facebook: www.facebook.com/alkawtharacademy Twitter: www.twitter.com/alkawthar Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/alkawtharacademy Tunein: http://tunein.com/radio/Shaykh-Riyadh-ul-Haq-p615599/ **********************************************************************
