Domāju, ka saprotu Bēthovenu, tāpēc man tik ļoti patīk viņu spēlēt. Kā jūs to atrisināsiet? Esmu par to priecīgs. Pirms dažām dienām Londonā spēlējāt šo klavierkoncertu. Vai tā bija pirmā reize? Jā, tā bija pirmā reize ar orķestri. Laba pieredze. Jā, tas man ir noteikums. Man vienmēr bija jāspēlē no galvas. Man gan īsti nesanāca to izpētīt, jo bija konkurss un mēģinājumi. Bet man patika. Es domāju - kā viņi to dabūja gatavu? Man bija jāspēlē labi, citādi nevarētu izdzīvot. Jūs nākat no ļoti sarežģīta Ukrainas reģiona. No agrākiem - Bēthovens. Man patīk šāds stils. Vai domājat arī par ukraiņu komponistiem? Agrāk man nebija iespējas tos iepazīt. Man patīk, jo esmu azartisks cilvēks, patīk sacensties. Ja to dari regulāri, viss ir kārtībā.

Send us a textIn this powerful and heart-opening episode of Rahma with Rose, I sit down with Humera Khan, a London-based community leader, educator, and faith-based activist who has spent decades merging social justice and spirituality into an embodied path. Humera opens up about her journey from cultural Islam as a young woman to recognizing activism, motherhood, and community-building as deeply spiritual practices, challenging traditional notions of spirituality as quiet withdrawal from society. She candidly reflects on how patriarchal and authoritarian interpretations of Islam have constrained the richness of lived faith, offering a critical yet compassionate critique of shame-based approaches that remain far too common in Muslim communities. With grace and wisdom, Humera shares the personal tools that have helped her stay grounded through adversity, confront gender injustice in religious spaces, and embrace her “enoughness” as a British Muslim woman.Humera Khan is a freelance Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion consultant and trustee of the London-based An-Nisa Society, a pioneering Muslim women's organisation she co-founded. For over four decades, she has worked at the intersection of community development, policy, and social justice, focusing on the needs of Muslim families. Humera has led and developed projects in Islamic counselling, supplementary education, youth engagement, and sexual health—most notably through her Cycle of Life book series. She has contributed to national conversations through governmental advisory roles and interfaith dialogue, and continues to write and speak on issues such as identity, gender, Islamophobia, and family welfare.Connect with Humera through An-Nisa Society: www.an-nisasociety.orgSupport the showFind out more about Rose's work here: https://lnk.bio/dr.rose.aslanWebsite: https://compassionflow.comSupport Rahma with Rose so I can keep producing more episodes here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2197727/supporters/new Music credits: Vocals: Zeynep Dilara Aslan; Ney/drum: Elif Önal; Tanbur: Katherine Hreib; Rebap: Hatice Gülbahar Hepsev

Send us a textIn this episode of Rahma with Rose, I sit down with poet and writer Ameera Aslam to explore what it means to soften without losing your edge. Ameera speaks openly about her evolving relationship with Islam, from early rigidity and burnout to a slower, more spacious faith. We talk about spiritual exhaustion, divorce, rebuilding self-worth, and what it takes to listen for your voice in a world that constantly tries to quiet it. Ameera shares how connecting with the Prophet Muhammad, studying with women scholars, and returning to embodied practices helped her move from resentment to trust. This conversation is for anyone navigating disillusionment, identity, or the long road home to themselves.Ameera Aslam is a bestselling author, award-winning poet, translator, editor, and activist from Singapore. Her work has appeared in various publications, both locally and internationally. Desiring Light, her first poetry anthology, won the Daybreak Press Book Awards in 2021. Her third book, When You Think You're Falling, published in March 2024, has been on multiple bestseller lists, including Singapore's national newspaper, The Straits Times. Her activism includes speaking out against domestic violence and supporting domestic violence survivors, as well as raising awareness and funds for migrant workers in Singapore (#SGMuslims4MigrantWorkers).Find Ameera on Instagram: @AmeeraAslamWritesSupport the showFind out more about Rose's work here: https://lnk.bio/dr.rose.aslanWebsite: https://compassionflow.comSupport Rahma with Rose so I can keep producing more episodes here: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2197727/supporters/new Music credits: Vocals: Zeynep Dilara Aslan; Ney/drum: Elif Önal; Tanbur: Katherine Hreib; Rebap: Hatice Gülbahar Hepsev

This is the FINAL episode of 2020 and what a show do we have planned! Dr. Burkes is a retired internal medicine physician having completed 30 years of service for the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. He has been a volunteer UFO investigator since 1992 working with, the Center for the Study of ET Intelligence (CSETI), the Peruvian network of contact workers known as Rahma, MUFON and FREE, The Foundation for Research into ET and Extraordinary Experiences(FREE). With researcher Preston Dennett, he is co-author of a chapter on UAP associated medical healings published in the FREE compendium “Beyond UFOs”. He has also co-authored “Paths to Contact” edited by Jeff Becker. In the 1990s he volunteered as a Working Group Coordinator for Dr. Steven Greer's Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind Initiative. In that capacity he had numerous Human Initiated Contact Experiences (HICE) popularly known as CE-5s. Although Dr. Burkes left CSETI more than 20 years ago, he has continued to promote the worldwide efforts of the network of activists that he calls “The Contact Underground.” Dr. Burkes' blogs that appear on Facebook focus on the mechanisms of contact. These include the Virtual Experience Model that describes the role of illusion during close encounters and the intelligence-counterintelligence model for UFO investigations. This model for engaging UFO intelligences is based on the assessment that flying saucers threaten all terrestrial elites, but not necessarily the Earth's peoples. Dr. Burkes is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. He resides in California with his wife Yael, four small dogs and a 110-year-old desert tortoise named Moishe.

Join Jim and Greg for the Election Day edition of the 3 Martini Lunch! Today, they offer their predictions for today's vote while extolling the genius of the Electoral College. They also react to reports of Russia targeting U.S. airliners, and a Muslim influencer deciding not to run his interview of Kamala Harris after she kept going on about bacon.First, Jim and Greg share their predictions for the presidential race, as well as control of the House and Senate. They examine polling demographics that could benefit Trump. They also express their gratitude to the founders for creating the Electoral College and react to calls for it to be abolished or changed.Next, they react to a Wall Street Journal report alleging Russia's involvement in attempts to target U.S. and Canadian airliners with incendiary devices. Jim highlights how this serious security threat, flagged in Germany and the UK, underscores the downsides of lengthy U.S. presidential campaigns that can overshadow pressing international issues. Finally, they unpack the amusing yet revealing story of a Muslim influencer who chose not to release his interview with Kamala Harris. He reportedly withheld the video after Harris avoided questions on Israel and Gaza and repeatedly discussed her views on bacon as a “spice.” Jim sees a potential plus for Harris in her focus on bacon but they also note the VP's eagerness to address frivolous matters and her reluctance to go deep on meaningful topics. Please visit our great sponsors:BetterHelphttps://betterhelp.com/3MLLet the gratitude flow with Betterhelp. Women and Girls on the Climate Change Frontline: Navigating Climate Change, a podcast series that shines a light on the women and girls leading the fight against climate change in the least developed countries. In the previous episodes, we journeyed to The Gambia, meeting women with grand solutions for climate crisis adaptation, and emphasized the importance of women's leadership. Today, one critical issue is in focus: Education. United Nations studies reveal that despite being in the 21st century, the world is still far from achieving universal education. Limitations are especially pronounced for girls and quality is a significant issue, a 'learning crisis' as termed by the World Bank.We explore whether more formally educated women will result in more women leaders. However, our spotlight veers towards non-formal education, as guided by our interviewees, diverging via two primary channels: the arts and media. Our Guests in this episode:Shelot Masithi. She is a 24-year old environmental activist from South Africa. Our voices aren't just for singing. They're for every form of self-expression – and most especially, your marketing. Ariella Rahma Forstein, also known as the Songstress Priestess, joins us to share her method for unlocking the true power of your voice through inner healing and how you can win over your audience through your speaking events and content creation every single time. Tune in to this new episode of The Conscious Marketer podcast — Harness The Power Of Your Voice With Ariella Rahma Forstein. Key points covered in this episode: [00:06:19] Voice training is more than just technique. It involves the mind, body, and soul. Limiting beliefs and childhood trauma can hold us back from speaking with our true, empowered voice. [00:11:52] Loosen your throat chakra. Ariella guides clients to identify the past hurt that has accumulated in this area and gently alleviate the block. [00:15:49] Silence is as important as speaking. Get used to the lull. Avoid filling it with filler words, but don't beat yourself up when you do say them. Allow your audience to take a breath with you. [00:21:49] Get creative in retelling your origin story. Like how musicians and performers do the same piece in different arrangements, give yourself room to experiment with added anecdotes, moods, and intonations. [00:24:23] Every word we say is marketing. It can affect someone – positively or negatively. Speak your truth by grounding yourself with your body and relaxing your voice and throat muscles through vocal exercises. Ariella Rahma Forstein is a 16-year Vocal Empowerment Coach & Alchemist. She delivered a TEDx Talk called "Singing is Your Birthright” and has worked with hundreds of clients individually and thousands in groups, guiding them to harness the power of their voices, expression, and inner authority. AKA: Mind-body-soul-voice alignment. She's stepped onto the Priestess path, ritualizing life in traditional and unique ceremonies, and is a Songstress, writing her first solo album and preparing to share her music broadly over the next 3 years. She values deep connection, community, mother nature, and a splendid cup of hand-blended tea. A new series hosted by comedian Kareem Rahma explores the lives and stories of NYC cab drivers. "Keep the Meter Running" is a TikTok show that follows cab drivers as they take Rahma on adventures around the city, whether that be to a driver's favorite Moroccan restaurant or to Pier 40 to kick around a soccer ball with a preprofessional player turned cab driver. Along the way the cab drivers share life lessons and tidbits of wisdom, and at the end Rahma covers the fare, costs of meals, and a 15% tip. Rahma joins to discuss.
