#519 Everything's a Piñata - Richard is at the Bedford Corn Exchange where he's fascinated by the animal sanctuary that bears his name and the Bedford cult that was expecting the second coming of Jesus. His guest is the mysterious Swede Olaf Falafel, if that is his real name or nationality. He talks about how he got into comedy, the double edged sword of winning joke of the Fringe, how to come up with one liners, mixing his artistic skills with his comedy, doing comedy for kids and how Twitter helped him find a publisher for his kids book and how he's managed to write a chapter book about art that is both funny and slyly educational. Plus abseiling off Table Mountain and whether you can make the Edinburgh Fringe work for you if you do the Free Fringe.See Olaf's shows at the Fringe Olaf Falafel Asks: Has Anyone Ever Actually Woven a Sigourney? - https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/olaf-falafel-asks-has-anyone-ever-actually-woven-a-sigourneyOlaf Falafel's Stupidest Super Stupid Show So Far - https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/olaf-falafel-s-stupidest-super-stupid-show-so-farSee a live recording of RHLSTP - https://richardherring.com/rhlstpSUPPORT THE SHOW!Watch our TWITCH CHANNELSee extra content at our WEBSITE Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/rhlstp. The comic creation of comedian and illustrator Derek Chickpeas, “Olaf Falafel” is an absolute combine-harvester of inspirationally daft ideas; hoovering them up and blasting them out across multiple creative outputs. We talk about “Olaf Falafel's Art Club”, “Old MacDonald Heard A Parp”, “One Giant Leek” and plenty of other projects including “The Pearl With The Girl Earring” and a load of other stuff he unsurprisingly doesn't have time to properly leverage…. We also discuss his penchant for over-delivering; his uniquely brilliant Edinburgh Fringe flyer designs; how to prioritise a million projects; as well as how he manages to stay one of the happiest creatives who've ever graced this podcast.Over half an hour of extras available exclusively to members of the Insiders Club include an exploration of his copycat-inspiring success on Vine (and the relief he felt at its collapse); further investigation of his effervescent comedy mind; and why he probably won't illustrate your kids' book idea…Go to www.comedianscomedian.com/insiders for ad-free episodes, extra content from every show that has it, and much more - including the exclusive Insiders Q&As with Nish Kumar, Alfie Brown, James Acaster and Fern Brady, plus the incredible “self-help for comedians” special with Amanda Donnet.Catch up with Olaf Falafel:http://www.olaffalafel.com/TW: @OFalafelIG: @olaffalafelTik: @olaffalafelEverything Stu's up to:This podcast is @ComComPod on Twitterwww.comedianscomedian.comIG and Tik: @stuartgoldsmithcomedyFind out everything Stu's up to at www.stuartgoldsmith.comStu offers remote and in-person talks to business, distilling insights from over 400 comics on cultivating resilience and the ability to bounce back, to all levels from C-suite to team members.“There's perfect and there's perfect; and that was perfect.” David Cooper, Chief People Officer Circle Health Group See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
