The American system is under a coordinated assault by a "political cartel" that has abandoned the rule of law in favor of a radical, partisan agenda. From the bench of the Supreme Court to local school board meetings, the infrastructure of our nation is being dismantled. This episode pulls back the curtain on the blatant double standards of the judiciary—where J6 defendants are treated as subhuman while those who threaten the life of a President are met with apologies from activist judges. We dive deep into the decay of Colorado and Illinois, where elected officials are more concerned with doxing federal agents and protecting squatters than securing our borders or upholding the sanctity of the vote. The frontline of this battle has moved into the classroom, and the stakes couldn't be higher. Guest Erin Lee, founder of Protect Kids Colorado, joins us to share her harrowing firsthand account of how the public school system attempted to secretly transition her 12-year-old daughter under the guise of an "Art Club." We examine the nationwide trend of "secret transitions" and state-sponsored grooming, questioning why taxpayer funds continue to flow into districts that explicitly coach children to lie to their parents. It is a raw look at the legislative fight to reclaim parental rights through ballot initiatives like the Children Are Not For Sale Act and the Protect Girls' Sports Act.We conclude by dismantling the absurdity of modern "inclusive" ideology and the gaslighting of the American public. From "Muslim-only" events in Texas to the promotion of drag queens for State Senate in California, the Left's agenda is to normalize the fringe while vilifying the foundation of Western heritage. We analyze the latest rhetoric from Ilhan Omar and the ongoing friction within the Supreme Court, where Justice Alito is firing back against the "baseless" claims of activist colleagues. This isn't just a political debate; it is a cultural rescue mission. Join us as we expose the hypocrisy and arm you with the truth needed to save the next generation from the brainwashing of the radical Left.
Send us Fan MailThis episode will cover a fascinating and little known period in the art history of Paris as told in the book titled: "The Club - Where American Women Artists Found Refuge in Belle Époque Paris". I will interview Jennifer Dasal, author of the book, who will share fascinating highlights. You will learn about what was essentially a boarding house in Paris that supported a generation of independent American women artists as early as 1893 for a number of decades. These women were a broad mixture of artists - in all fields of artistic talents - painters, sculptors, etc. The "Club" allowed them the opportunity to interact with other famous and established artists like Mary Cassatt and Auguste Rodin. I was interested in "The Club", since my book, the biography of miniature portrait artist, Amalia Kussner - covered a similar time period. And there was indeed some interesting overlap in content between the two books - such as with sculptor Auguste Rodin.Note: Some of the works of the impressive sculptor, Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller, who is discussed in this episode, can be seen at the Danforth Museum, in Framingham, MA.Jennifer's Website link is here or www.jenniferdasal.com. If you are interested in ordering her book - you can use this link from her website. My website link is here or www.kathleenlangone.com. The biography, The Miniature Painter Revealed: Amalia Kussner's Gilded Age Pursuit of Fame and Fortune, is available at all major book outlets such Barnes and Noble, Amazon with links at the website. It's time for the December mailbag! This month is a lot when you're an art teacher, and Tim and Amanda have some advice for when you're exhausted, overextended, and still trying to make meaningful learning happen. Listener questions cover everything from student slang (what does "delulu," "6–7," and "tough" even mean?) to always feeling behind on grading and displays, juggling multiple roles in the building, recovering from a nightmare sub, and working with a paraprofessional who spends class on their phone. Listen for some ideas and mindset shifts that you can use right now. Along the way, you'll also hear quick updates on AOEU's Holiday Giveaway Extravaganza, Art Club and Pop-Up Studio events, and a new AOEU YouTube game show, Framed, plus a few fun personal stories to keep things light during a heavy month. Educators often assume that clubs, activities, and school culture must happen in person—that building belonging in virtual learning is limited or even impossible. Many imagine distance learners as isolated kids behind screens, missing the social experiences that shape identity, leadership, and community. But what if that assumption is simply wrong? In this conversation, Cindy Carbajal, a 20-year veteran of Pearson Virtual Schools, shows us how vibrant, student-driven communities thrive online through thoughtful structure, flexible engagement pathways, and opportunities for real agency.Cindy oversees a global clubs and activities program serving 11,000+ students across time zones, grade levels, and cultural backgrounds. Her work demonstrates that:1. Student-Centered Design Fuels Real BelongingClubs are built with a goal that at least 50% of live time is student talk time—not passive listening.Students share, present, lead, and create—driving engagement and ownership.Broad-topic clubs (like Art Club instead of Crochet Club) help students discover unexpected interests and communities.2. Flexible Models Match Virtual Students' Real LivesEvery offering includes both synchronous and asynchronous pathways, ensuring access regardless of schedules, time zones, or family obligations.Live sessions build community; asynchronous challenges deepen skills and allow for self-paced exploration.3. Clubs Quietly Reinforce Academic & Durable SkillsCindy calls it “stealth learning”:Math skills reinforced in esports strategies.Reading skills strengthened through participation logistics and peer review.Executive functioning, digital communication, and leadership built through planning, presenting, and collaborating.4. Data Drives Program EvolutionHer team measures:Enrollment and attendanceStudent and caregiver satisfactionWithdrawal trendsOverlap between global clubs and local school clubs These insights help fine-tune offerings and spark new opportunities—like peer tutoring, reading buddies, and esports leagues. How Educators Can Apply These Insights Today1. Start with the student experience—not the content.Ask: Where can students lead? Where can they share? How can this be theirs?2. Build broad entry points.Instead of a niche club for each interest, create umbrellas where kids can explore together.3. Don't replicate in-person school—capitalize on what's uniquely possible online.Global reach, time-zone diversity, virtual volunteer opportunities, and student leadership that scales across schools—these are advantages brick-and-mortar can't match.4. Teach students how to interact online.Cindy's programs explicitly teach:How to give feedback in writing and art clubsHow to share space respectfullyHow to show kindness online (Kindness Club!)5. Track what matters.Attendance, satisfaction, enrollment, and student stories help shape future offerings.Episode LinksPearson Virtual Schools — Learn more about their virtual school network and programs, including Cindy's Global Clubs.Host LinksDiscover more virtual learning opportunities at CILC.org with hosts Tami Moehring and Allyson Mitchell.Seth Fleischauer's Banyan Global Learning provides meaningful global learning experiences that prepare students across the globe for success in an interconnected world.

This project, Shit Art Club, started from creative expression in high school. But from a high school rebellious art project, it grew into a thriving artistic community in Downtown Los Angeles. Dedicated to genuine creative expression, Shit Art Club rejects conventional form and function, embracing authenticity and anarchy. The collective invites everyone to join their creative crusade, fostering a space where beauty and discord coexist harmoniously. Their journey from a paint-soaked backyard to a vibrant hub in Skid Row exemplifies their commitment to real, unpretentious art that challenges norms and celebrates the true essence of creativity. But let's start before all that, back at the beginning. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
