Canada has voted. The Liberals have secured a minority government. Led by Mark Carney, the party is leading with 168 seats, falling just shy of 172 needed for a majority. The Conservatives are set to remain in opposition. So, what could a 4th Liberal mandate mean for Canada's economy, and your investments? And how are Canada and the world reacting to the news? On today's show, we have a panel of experts to break down the results of the federal election. David Herle is a former top advisor to Prime Minister Paul Martin, and host of popular political podcasts, “The Herle Burly” and “Curse of Politics”. David is also Partner at Rubicon Strategy. Joining the show today to offer their insights into everything from tax policy to build-outs of A.I. and defence spending, as well as all things politics are Kory Teneycke, former director of communications to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and CEO of Rubicon Strategy, and David Herle, former top advisor to Prime Minister Paul Martin, and Partner at Rubicon Strategy. Wednesday's unhappy Liberal Party caucus meeting in Ottawa during which PM Justin Trudeau faced calls from an uncertain number of Liberal MPs to resign and they gave him until this coming Monday to do so. Trudeau leaving the caucus meeting told reporters he is and intends to remain in charge of the party heading into any coming federal election, which given the mood and likely strategy of the Bloc Quebecois may happen sooner than later. We speak again with two former Liberal MPs who are watching this drama carefully. Guests: Michelle Simson, former Trudeau seatmate during Question Period. Dan McTeague, 18 years a Liberal MP who fulfilled senior roles during the administration of Prime Minister Paul Martin. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
