Stacy Francis is an American singer and actress. She is best known for being a part of the girl group Ex Girlfriend and as a contestant in the first season of The X Factor USA. Francis has also made several television appearances on various shows. She also performed for Tom Cruise at his 40th birthday. In 1991, Francis joined a female group called Ex Girlfriend. Managed by the group Full Force to be their female counterpart, the group was signed to Forceful Records; a division of Reprise Records. Ex Girlfriend released their debut album X Marks the Spot in October 1991. The first single "Why Can't You Come Home" peaked in the top-five on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The success of the single invited them to perform on various TV shows including Soul Train. In August 1994, they released their second album It's a Woman Thang. Following the poor sales and management, Ex Girlfriend broke up in 1995. Stacy participated in the nineteenth series of the UK television show Celebrity Big Brother as a "new star" housemate. Brown and Gilbert have a new member, Arin Jackson, who they say reminds them a great deal of Maxwell, not only in terms as her talent but also her mannerisms and personality. Jackson, for her part, said she's thrilled to be a part of Brownstone. “I get a rare opportunity you don't get in this industry to learn from the living legend Nicci Gilbert, and on the other side of me I have what I consider the most talented woman in the world, Teisha Lott Brown,” Jackson said. “And I get to bring my talent and my showmanship to this group to blend and to keep Brownstone's legacy alive.” The trio are dedicated to putting out stellar R&B. Brown pointed out how popular '90s groups continue to resonate with audiences through “old skool” tours that are making the rounds. Gilbert said that's one of the reasons you see their contemporaries, like SWV and Xscape, also making new music. “We've come to a place where things are so hard that people are looking to lean on really talented people and great songs and great music, because I think it speaks a universal language,” she said. Jones made history being nominated for a Grammy. In 2019 Brownstone took the stage by storm and had the honor of performing at The Essence Festival's 25th Anniversary which also marked Brownstone's 25th Anniversary and that same year they also performed on BET's Her LIVE Project. Since getting back on stage June 2019 and getting back to what they love and continuing the legacy started for Brownstone by Michael Jackson signing them and giving Brownstone the platform to gift the world with their talent; Don't miss this Brownstone Experience coming to a stage near you! Dr. Donny is an incredibly interesting person.  In fact, he defies a simple title or label.  For example, he's a doctor of clinical psychology and he practiced as a clinical psychologist and taught for over a decade. Then he packed up and pursued a dream.  He moved to LA with no connections but his passion for story and his fascination with the human journey led him to his current career as both an Emmy-award winning producer and director as well as a poet.  As a producer, he's worked on unscripted television, including CNN's United Shades of America, TV One's R&B Divas, ABC's The Bachelor and his current project is Season 2 of Apple TV's series simply called “Dear…”  AND as a POET… Donny has been a staple of the poetry and spoken word communities over the past two decades.  In fact, his new poetry collection called, “Boy” was recently published and is available wherever books are sold!  It's an amazing conversation and I think you're going to love it. Imagine this: you’re a Grammy-nominated singer, considered one of the best vocalists of your generation, who has scored major R&B hits and been invited to collaborate with the likes of Kanye West and R. Kelly, yet some folks consider you “underrated.” This has been the plight of Syleena Johnson, acclaimed as one of the finest R&B voices to have emerged during the past decade. Having fought the major label system to allow her true identity to shine forth, Syleena now steps forward with her most personal statement to date. Her boundary-stretching fifth album, entitled, appropriately enough, Chapter V: Underrated, was released on September 27, 2011 on Shanachie Entertainment. Syleena Johnson grew up outside Chicago in Illinois. Though she got involved with music during her high school years, initially she was discouraged from getting into the music business by her father, who had many disappointing experiences in the industry. Meanwhile her mother become the nation’s first black female police commissioner. After her live acoustic album release performance of Chapter V: Underrated last year, Syleena was moved by her own music and decided to release the live performance as a mini-album titled Acoustic Soul Sessions, released September 25th, 2012. The mini-album includes five songs from Chapter V: Underrated; an introduction to Chapter 6: Couples Therapy which will be released on October 28th, 2014. The Powerful New Recording on the way will take us back to Syleena’s traditional R&B style. The first single, “Perfectly Worthless”, from the hit new album is now available. Syleena also adds television to her roster as a costar in the TV One hit reality series R&B Divas airing Wednesday nights at 10/9c.
