Starheart is a Musician, Composer, Filmmaker, and VTuber who has been doing live performances in VR over the past couple of years. She started making music videos on Halloween of 2022, and realized that she needed a persistent avatar. VR had already been creating a safe space for her to anonymously experiment with and discover her identity as a transgender woman, and she debuted her VTubing persona of Starheart on April 18, 2023 with a music video called "Elsewhere." Then three days later she opened for Naku on Phia's The Virtual Reality Show, which opened up opportunities to play at over 40 different music venues over the past year. VR has opened up many new opportunities for Starheart to discover the core essence of her identity and new modes of creative expression as an artist, musician, and filmmaker. Starheart is her name and persona, but it's much more than a character. In fact, she told The Metaculture magazine's K. Guillory last year that "Becoming Starheart has been integral for finding my musical voice, and is the most authentic version of myself as a performer I've ever been." I picked up on this thread to hear more about Starheart's creative journey into VR through her music videos, musical performances, filmmaking explorations and creation of her authentic identity beyond her physical body. Starheart's "I Still Love You" ended up winning the Best Music Video this year at Raindance, and this episode will be kicking off a series of interviews that I'll be doing with Raindance Immersive artists to get a better sense of what's been happening at the frontiers of virtual culture within the social VR platform of VRChat. Erica Melancon Fox, Executive Director of the Maison Freetown African American History Museum, joins us today to share her incredible journey. A musician, a historian, and a lover of a good story, Erica shares stories that are golden. Her parents always supported her journey in music, dance, and all things that allowed her to share her spirit. Our community is so much better off because of their investment in her talent! Highly accomplished in the world of performing arts, Erica is a professional songwriter who has sung with Rice University's Orchestra, served for eight weeks as lead actress and singer in “Ain't Misbehavin” at the National World War 2 Museum, and toured with various national musical companies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juaGTXOpIig Erica Melancon moved to LA right after high school and attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, acquiring a record deal right off the bat. She had a college sponsorship, but no money to speak of but wanted to follow her dream of being a recording artist. She had no manager, and knew no one, but was guided by God to follow her calling. She learned very early on how to be a business person as she also learned what it was like to be 'canned!' She was discovered when she sang the National Anthem at the Staple Center in Los Angeles. Her journey led her to be a part of the Motown productions of the Funk Brothers, a talent trove that wrote all the classic songs we love. Erica is classically trained but loves all types of music, including Country! Erica has opened for shows at Acadiana Center for the Arts and Festival International de Louisiane. She received a 2020 Grammy Consideration for Best R&B song: "I Still Love You" on her This is 2020 album. "I feel like I've lived many lifetimes. My life is a song. That is the basis of everything I do. I have always loved sound and writing and literature since I was a four-year-old kid. I was always outside singing and didn't realize I was writing songs when I was singing to the trees and the birds and making shows and performing with my imaginary friends. My love for literature for song came from my father who appreciated all types of music. She had the opportunity to interview Calvin Moret, the last surviving Louisiana member of World War II's famed Tuskegee Airmen, an accomplished soldier and woodworker who played down what his talents were. "It makes you wonder what are my talents...what more can I do?" Erica learned that Lafayette still had a surviving member of the WWII Battalion, all-black Female soldier of the 6888th  (SIX TRIPLE EIGHT) Central Postal Directory Battalion, Major Fannie Melancon, and pursued interviewing her to pursue the knowledge of people of that time period. We ran into each other recently at a tribute of the WWII all-black Female soldiers of the 6888th  (SIX TRIPLE EIGHT) Central Postal Directory Battalion at the Freetown Maison museum. Erica makes incredible contributions to our community each and every day and it is a pleasure to share her story!

O álbum contém as faixas: "Creatures of the Night", "Saint and Sinner", "Keep Me Comin'", "Rock and Roll Hell", "Danger", "I Love It Loud", "I Still Love You", "Killer" e "War Machine". OF THE NIGHT, do KISS! ******************************************** SEJA MEMBRO DO CLUBE TUPFS E TENHA ACESSO A UMA SÉRIE DE VANTAGENS! It is a pleasure to welcome award-winning singer, songwriter, and philanthropist Crystal Starr to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Crystal is known as “The Girl with the Golden Voice.” She has captivated audiences worldwide through her well-crafted brand. Her colorful visuals, powerful voice, and pop-feel-good aesthetic are thrillingly mesmerizing, and her style has a modern day twist to the 1980s and 1990s pop music. At 16-years-old and without a single voice lesson, Crystal landed her first professional gig singing for Jessica Simpson. Since then, she shared the stage with a plethora of recording artists such as Ariana Grande, Drake, the Jacksons, Lady Gaga, Paul Stanley, Pitbull, and Stevie Wonder. She also had a starring role in the hit Broadway show Baby It's You. Recently, she also performed at the 2022 Electric Forest Festival, which was attended by over 100,000 people and shared the stage with the String Cheese Incident. Crystal has released three albums and her second record, #SHE, had two singles in the top 100 music charts. Several singles include: “All Mine,” which Crystal Starr co-produced with Grammy-nominated producers Bizkit and Butta, and “Head Over Heels,” produced by Renard Hughes and Grammy-winning producer Keith Harris. In addition to her music endeavors, Crystal founded the Little Voices Nonprofit after having seen first-hand the many hardships and disappointments foster kids endure, she realized that she could combine her passion for music and serving others to help represent those who feel they are voiceless. Since its inception, the Little Voices Nonprofit has impacted the lives of over 1 million kids in foster care or inner cities. In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Crystal Starr spoke about the stories behind some of her songs, such as “I Still Love You” and “Goodie Two Shoes.” She also spoke about sharing the stage with the Jacksons, Lady Gaga, and Stevie Wonder, plus Little Voices.

You can email us here us@hohshow.com  On Todays episode we talk about Almost getting caught on day 59!!! And another one of our tools for a long lasting fun loving relationship. TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL! After Roger and Nina had a heated work disagreement. Nina felt very disconnected and hurt. She couldn't help but feel that Roger didn't love her as much as she thought. While Roger was out at work, Nina was posting her content on Social media and she noticed Roger liking her posts. So she thought that maybe she is over reacting.  Nina decided to send Roger a audio message saying "I just want to say I STILL LOVE YOU, can't wait to see you"  Roger listened to it when he finished with his clients. It made him feel good. So he decided to send Nina a little reassuring video message. Telling her "I don't STILL love you. I'll always LOVE YOU" Video message  That made Nina's heart melt. I mean wouldn't yours if you got that from your person? When Roger came home. They were hugging and kissing.  Afterwards they realized, that if the messages didn't happen. The tension would have still been there and the fight and resentment would have lasted hours or maybe even days afterwards.  So please be sure to reassure your partners, Tell them how you feel. Don't assume they already know. If you haven't told them in a while. Make sure to do so. If you are fighting. Go cool down a little. Then tell them how much you love and appreciate them. It will go a long way. And maybe even get you some brownie points to put in the bank.  Everyone needs reassurance in a relationship. Both guys and girls. They need to hear that you love them, you appreciate them, you still want them. They need to know that they are SAFE in the relationship. You are not going anywhere. So be sure to tell them. Tell them in your own way, what ever that is.  Here is an example if you need it.    If You Were A Fart Video There is no point in dragging it on for hours and days. We've seen young relationships break up because of stupid little arguments that didn't get resolved. They separate because they don't feel the relationship safety.   don't let them be "the one that got away" because of ego or stubbornness. If you love them. Tell them. If you don't want to loss them. Tell them. If you appreciate all that they do. Tell them. You will see it goes a long way.  If you want things to be even better. The do the 69 Day Fucking Intimacy Challenge! You will never come down from that high! Jessica Wajda was 32 when she was diagnosed with Stage III Triple Negative breast cancer.  Today, Jessica reads her piece “I Still Love You” from Wildfire Magazine's 2020 “Body” issue. This is not a mainstream cancer story, or one that people are used to hearing.  Jessica says doctor's gave her just 4 years to live if she didn't do the rigorous treatment of chemo, surgery, and radiation they prescribed. Jessica decided that wasn't the path for her. She writes about finding strength within herself to rise up from the fear and listen to her body and intuition to heal in her own way.  Along the way, she discovered a surprising love for her cancer, and herself.  April and Jessica discuss writing with conviction to care for yourself through sharing your truth without worrying what others might think. He has a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, and he formerly interned at the Human Rights Campaign and SKDKnickerbocker. In part two of our show, we talk to playwight Daniel MacIvor about the newest productions of his plays The Soldier Dreams and Never Swim Alone.  These productions mark Open Fist Theatre Company returning to live, in-person performances at Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles.  The Soldier Dreams is a darkly funny and moving play --As David lies in a virus-induced coma, his lover, Richard, plays host to David's family members, each of whom feel they had the most special connection. In the slyly witty and unexpectedly suspenseful Never Swim Alone, two men, Frank and Bill are locked in a ruthless competition of one-upmanship. Daniel's plays have been seen across Canada and abroad. He has twice won the Dora Mavor Moore Award, is a Chalmers Award laureate, and in 2006 won the Governor General's Award for his collection of five plays, I Still Love You, which includes The Soldier Dreams. He was a recipient of the Elinore & Lou Siminovitch Prize in Theatre, Canada's largest annual theater award. Ashe studied at the renowned Berklee College Of Music in Boston. A big fan of the likes of Brian Wilson, Carole King and The Beatles, she fed off those classic writers when creating the impressively grand sounding debut album titled Ashlyn (which is her real first name). In the lead up to its release came the sleeper of a hit called ‘Moral Of The Story’. Co-written and co-produced with FINNEAS, the song took a year to generate interest. However, following its inclusion in the To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You soundtrack, it became a huge viral hit, and is currently streaming in the hundreds of millions. Personally, Ashe has gone through plenty of heartbreak. A failed and emotionally toxic young marriage, followed by losing her brother last year to addiction, has fed directly into her deeply personal songwriting. Hear her open up about her life and influences in this conversation with Richard Kingsmill.

I'm so excited to have Lindsay Wolfington on the show today! She is a music supervisor and initially broke into the music supervisor world when supervising for One Tree Hill. I feel very closely connected to this show because it was one of my first massive, massive placements. It changed the trajectory of my career once my song got placed. I tell the story of how it all went down and what came from that placement. She also works on Virgin River, Fear Street, and Warrior Nun on Netflix. She won awards for the music she placed in To All the Boys I've Loved Before and To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. Her music supervision list is long, and she is a superstar in the music supervision world. We had such a great conversation. At the end of this episode we brought in students from the Ari's Take Academy course Advanced Sync Strategies for Film, TV and Video Games to ask their questions. Kameelah Williams, aka, Meelah was born & raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ironically enough she became the lead singer of the multi platinum trio 702, which is the Las Vegas area code. Meelah was deemed the voice of the group by her position as lead vocalist on 702s chart topping singles such as the Missy Elliott produced "Steelo"& ladies' anthem "Where My Girls At", which stayed in the top 20 for more than 30 weeks on Billboard's top 40 pop chart, earning a nomination for an American Music Award. Her sultry lead vocals were also displayed on an array of other 702 hits including the R&B top 10 power ballad "Get It Together". The instant popularity afforded 702 the opportunity to work with Nickelodeon on their hit tv show "Cousin Skeeter" on which Meelah sang lead for the theme song.   702 went on to record 3 studio albums, winning a Lady of Soul Award for album of the year. They also recorded "Beep Me 911", the Timbaland produced hit single featured on Missy Elliott's debut album, where Meelah & Missy shared the lead vocal spotlight. Meelah also sung lead vocals alongside Pharrell Williams on 702s understated, yet riveting record "I Still Love You".   With international, multi platinum success came world tours, joining other major artists (New Edition, Brandy, and Brian McKnight), soundtrack recordings (Good Burger, Stewart Little), song features, and sitcom appearances (Moesha, Sister Sister). Other television appearances were made worldwide including the UK's legendary "Top of the Pops".
