In today's episode, I have the pleasure of sharing a presentation from Elisabeth Hendrickson, a renowned speaker, expert in test automation and development, and the author of the top-rated book Explore It!: Reduce Risk and Increase Confidence with Exploratory Testing. I've been trying to get Elisabeth on the show since 2014 without any luck, BUT I hosted an online event, RoboCon, a few years ago where Elisabeth was the keynote speaker and thought now is my chance to at least create an episode featuring her by reusing her session here. Elisabeth's keynote speech titled "Robot Framework Through the Lens of History" will take you on a fascinating journey through the evolution of test automation, highlighting some lesser-known stories and influential figures along the way. As she delved into her archives, she discovered long-lost gems that shed light on the frustrations and challenges she encountered on her test automation journey. From the frustrations caused by heavyweight software development processes to the issues with test automation tools breaking and providing irrelevant information, Elisabeth takes us through the hurdles she faced, triumphs, and shares the history of test frameworks, including Robot Framework, along the way. You don't want to miss it. Listen up! Also, if you have anything to do with the Robot Framework, this is an excellent time to check out and register for RoboCon 24. They will have both an in-person and online version that I will be hosting. So go to testguild.com/robocon, register, and hope to see you there.

Hello and welcome to episode 67 of the Testing Peers podcast. This week we have special guests Beth Marshall and Steven Warburton who joins regulars, David and Russell, as we discuss Testing Conferences and what they mean to us and our teams. Before we delve into the main subject Beth takes us down memory lane on funny stories at conferences. We start discussing conference season and our bucket lists of conferences. We talk about DevOps conferences, RoboCon, not just testing and wanting to go to EuroStar, Agile Test Days and Russell confuses Agile on the Beach with yet-to-be-created Testing on the Beach conference (but it does sound fun!).We talk about how to pick yourself or how to help your team pick where to go and use cases to help persuade people of the value of conferences and the value to a team. We share our thoughts on maximising the experience, the difference between online and offline events, and sharing what is learnt. and how you can get involved in conferences beyond just speaking. We hope you found the discussion useful and would love to hear your feedback.ContactUs@TestingPeers.comTwitter (https://twitter.com/testingpeers)LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/testing-peers)Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/testingpeers/)Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/TestingPeers)We're also now on GoodPods, check it out via the mobile app storesIf you like what we do and are able to, please visit our Patreon to explore how you could support us going forwards: https://www.patreon.com/testingpeersSaffron QA is a provider of recruitment and consultancy services, exclusively for the software testing industry. You can find out more at https://saffronqa.co.uk/ or on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/company/saffron-qa/Support the show

Part two of the series finale finds A.I.N.E. and co in the middle of a hostage situation with A.I.S.O. (the awol AI). Will the crew make it out alive? Will the mayor of NYC meet A.I.S.O's million dollar demands? What does the future hold for Rockwood's resident robot? Tune in to hear how this dramatic two part episode concludes.
Prepare for a jam packed episode in part one of this two part series finale. What happens when AINE, her co-creators Dr. Clayton and Dr. Whyte, half of Rockwood parish, an AWOL Japanese Human-Robot Hybrid name AISO (Artificial Intelligence Sixty One) and two twin Human-Robot Hybrids named Tai Chi (Twin Artificial Intelligence Chi) and Tai Chan (Twin Artificial Intelligence Chan) descend on New York for the annual Robocon 2015 convention? Let's just say "the big apple" takes on more than it can chew. Part two of this episode will conclude next week.
