About Guest: ------ Bhawana grew up in the Terai region of Nepal noticing the gender-based differences within her community and the impact of systemic gender barriers on girls like her. Thus at the age of 18, she began her career as a journalist in pursuit of social change but switched careers in 2013 to spend three years as a Teach for Nepal fellow in a community school in Nepal. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in educational leadership at Kathmandu University where she is exploring how critical self-reflection helps nurture emotional intelligence among educators. Also through her organization My Emotions Matter, Bhawana is dedicated to helping individuals and teams develop the mindset and skills for emotional intelligence. About Guest: ------ Rajendra Adhikari, Ph.D. was born and raised in the staff quarters of the National Electricity Authority(NEA) of the Devighat Hydropower plant in Nuwakot, Nepal. He often visited the hydropower plant location during his childhood with his father, who used to repair electric motors and machines. Having been introduced to the power generating mechanisms early on, he pursued a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at the Institute of Engineering (IOE) Pulchowk Nepal and earned a graduate degree and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech University, USA focusing on an algorithmic approach to control demand response of residential Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning(HVAC) systems. Currently, he works as a researcher and software engineer for the Residential Buildings Research Group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory(NREL). Guest: Rajendra Banjade, Ph.D . Rajendra Banjade has been working in a managerial role in data science at Audible (Amazon company) for more than three years and is based in New Jersey. His focus is on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and data science in general, and his work at Audible includes supporting business decisions and improving customer experience by analyzing a vast amount of contents, such as texts from books and customer activities and building predictive models. Rajendra received his MS & Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Memphis, Tennessee. Sonika Manandhar is a co-founder and CTO of Aeloi Technologies, a fintech platform that mobilizes the grassroots economy to reduce climate change by bridging the last-mile impact financing gap for green microentrepreneurs with digital tokens. She has spent nearly a decade as a software programmer in organizations such as Microsoft Innovation Center in Nepal and always driven towards making technology easy for all literacy levels. Rajan Chaudhary was born to a farmer in a small village of Rathwara in Mahottari, Nepal. Chaudhary grew up playing cricket and watching Bollywood cinemas. He has a close affinity to the nature from his childhood. Always a struggling student, He failed in ten subjects during his primary school and he was expelled from the school. Chaudhary moved to Janakpur around 2010. There he developed an interest for the History books. He used to find cheap book from trash recycling place. In 2016, he came to the U.S. for his higher education. When he was laid off from his job in 2017, he started watching Hollywood cinemas in his spare time. He then discovered his interest in Acting. He started his Acting career in 2018. He debuted in a play “The Loop”. The play was performed at LaGuardia Community College Theater in New York. Chaudhary describes his inspiration as actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar from Bollywood. He has also studied actors like Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio.
