The Trust Advantage: How Leaders Turn Complexity Into ConfidenceOverviewIn this episode of the Stay On Course Podcast, host Julie Riga sits down with Jeff Willinger, a globally recognized digital transformation leader, Microsoft MVP, and one of the leading voices in enterprise AI and the future of work. Jeff shares the three ingredients that separate visionary leaders from those who fall behind. In an AI-driven world, the most valuable thing a leader can offer is not a solution. It is confidence. Whether you are a corporate executive, an entrepreneur, or a professional navigating change, this episode will shift the way you think about trust, technology, and your own leadership legacy. This conversation is for leaders who are ready to stop reacting and start leading with clarity and conviction. The Trust Advantage: How Leaders Turn Complexity Into ConfidenceGuest: Jeff Willinger, Digital Transformation Leader, Microsoft MVP, Director at Turn Digital Host: Julie RigaAbout Jeff WillingerJeff Willinger is a globally recognized digital transformation leader, Microsoft MVP, and Director at Turn Digital. With over 20 years of experience in the Microsoft ecosystem, Jeff bridges the gap between business and technology. He makes tools like Microsoft SharePoint and AI Co-Pilot simple, tangible, and powerful for organizations of every size. His leadership philosophy centers on clarity, accountability, and always moving toward where the opportunity is going to be before anyone else sees it.Fun Fact: Jeff is a proud New Yorker and a dedicated seafood lover. His ideal meal is king crab with drawn butter and lemon. When he is in a rush, nothing beats a classic New York pizza slice. The Three Ingredients for Leadership Success1. Clarity Over ComplexityIf people do not understand it, they will not act on it. Jeff leads with insight, paints a clear before-and-after picture, and earns trust by delivering real value before asking for anything in return. Simplifying the message is not a soft skill. It is a core leadership advantage that drives growth, alignment, and real transformation.2. Proof Over PromiseEvery leader talks about what AI can do. Jeff shows it. He uses readiness assessments, fast pilots, and measurable results within two weeks to build genuine confidence. Make it tangible, make it fast, and let the results do the talking. This approach drives adoption, closes deals, and creates unstoppable momentum.3. Reduce Risk at Every StepEvery deal and every transformation decision is a risk decision at its core. Jeff breaks big changes into safe, digestible steps and proof-of-concept pilots that let teams experience real results without fear. His goal is not to push a deal through. It is to make saying yes feel like the obvious, safe, and smart choice for every stakeholder.Key Quotes"Everyone goes to where the puck is. I go to where the puck is going to be.""If they do not understand it, they will not buy it.""People are not buying your solution. They are buying your conviction and your clarity.""What took 20 hours in the past is taking 10 minutes with AI and you cannot unsee that productivity.""Bring value wherever you go and you will always have a job and you will always have a client."Key TakeawaysClarity is a competitive advantage in leadership and in businessProof beats promise every single time in businessAI is not optional for organizations that want to grow and stay relevantThe human edge in leadership is real, irreplaceable, and truly essentialGovernance creates real freedom, not limits, when built wellConnect with Jeff WillingerLinkedIn: Jeff Willinger Instagram: @TheRealJWillie Company: Turn DigitalConnect with Julie RigaExplore all resources, tools, and episode links at: https://stacklist.app/julieriga#Leadership #DigitalTransformation #AILeadership #StayOnCourse #Transformation
Send us Fan MailEpisode 368: Fleet Advantage's Brian Antonellis joins our host Jamie Irvine to break down the “procurement paralysis” many fleets are experiencing due to uncertainty, rising costs, and rapid changes in equipment strategy. Antonellis explains how years of supply chain disruption, upcoming EPA 2027 emissions regulations, and volatile fuel prices have created hesitation around replacing aging equipment—even as older trucks become significantly more expensive to operate. He highlights the critical importance of understanding a fleet's true operating economics, especially fuel efficiency degradation and escalating repair costs, and discusses how predictive maintenance, safety technology advancements, and choosing the right financial structure (ownership vs. leasing) can help fleets reduce risk and make confident decisions. The conversation emphasizes that fleets can overcome paralysis by focusing on data, lifecycle costs, and strategic planning rather than small, low‑impact cost‑cutting measures.Links· FleetAdvantage.comSponsors of this EpisodeThe Hub Corp: Introducing the new standard in wheel-end protection: The Hub Corp's revolutionary XTRACTOR™. Got a question about the show? Click here & Send us a text! Thanks for tuning in to another episode of The Building Talks Podcast. This one digs into where margin and risk really sit in construction. In this episode, we're joined by Alastair Blenkin and Tim Rogers, the team behind ProcurePro. There's plenty of talk in the industry about productivity, but this conversation gets into something often overlooked, procurement, and why it plays such a critical role in project success. On the surface, procurement doesn't sound that exciting, but scratch beneath it and you'll find where margin is protected, risk is managed, and a lot of project stress quietly builds. We unpack how ProcurePro came to life, Tim's experience on the contractor side with Hutchinson Builders, and Alastair's background in tech and law. From spreadsheet-heavy processes and quote levelling to scope clarity and the impact of COVID, this is a proper look at one of the most manual parts of the industry. There's also a great discussion around AI, productivity, and why good systems shouldn't replace people, they should free them up to focus on higher-value work.If you've ever wondered why construction struggles to adopt new tech, and why implementation is often harder than the idea itself, this will be an eye-opener for you.Takeaways:✅ Why procurement is the frontline for protecting margin✅ The risks of spreadsheet-driven processes✅ How quote levelling and scope clarity reduce project stress✅ Where AI fits into construction workflows✅ Why implementation is harder than innovationChapters:10:10 Understanding Procurement Challenges16:54 The Evolution of Procurement Solutions21:23 Building the Minimum Viable Product29:07 The Importance of Scope in Construction35:57 Streamlining Procurement with ProcurePro40:45 The Visibility Revolution in Construction43:46 AI's Role in Transforming the Construction Process 54:42 Implementing Change: Overcoming Resistance in Construction Tech1:00:28 Future Aspirations: Saving a Billion Construction HoursTune in for a smart, practical conversation on how better procurement can drive performance across every project.Hope you enjoy the podcast!#ConstructionTech #Procurement #BuildingTalksPodcast #ConstructionLeadership #AIinConstruction #BuiltEnvironment #ProjectManagement #ConstructionInnovation #CommercialConstructionThe Building Talks Podcast is brought to you by Building Environs Recruitment - providing recruitment solutions to the property, construction, and related industries, here in Melbourne and Southeast Queensland. In this mashup masterclass, we're bringing together a powerful compilation of conversations centered on the impact of hormones on brain health and cognition. We explore the nuanced risk factors for neurocognitive changes and how shifts in insulin sensitivity during perimenopause and menopause influence various aspects, including lipid patterns, hair changes, laboratory markers, and lifestyle inputs. We examine how the gut microbiome changes dynamically, targeted nutritional interventions, the role of advanced testing, including the DUTCH test, and how genetics, detoxification pathways, methylation, and the estrobolome. This is an exciting, dynamic mashup of some of my favorite podcast conversations dedicated to estrogen and midlife physiology. It's one you'll likely want to revisit more than once. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: The critical role estrogen plays neurologically, and how estrogen receptors in the brain increase as estrogen declines How declining estradiol during menopause impacts women's lipid metabolism Why insulin resistance tends to increase during the menopause transition The gut microbiome shifts that occur in postmenopausal women The link between the gut microbiome and menopausal symptoms such as brain fog, anxiety, and sleep issues How impaired estrogen detoxification pathways may increase long-term risk of hormone-sensitive cancers How the DUTCH test provides insight into hormone patterns and metabolism beyond standard bloodwork How declining estrogen disrupts the hair growth cycle and increases shedding Why personalized approaches to supplements, diet, and HRT are essential for women in midlife Connect with Cynthia Thurlow Follow on X, Instagram & LinkedIn Check out Cynthia's website Submit your questions to support@cynthiathurlow.com Join other like-minded women in a supportive, nurturing community: The Midlife Pause/Cynthia Thurlow Cynthia's Menopause Gut Book is on presale now! Are you thinking about pursuing a new career path -- but there's a lot at risk?Whether you aren't sure where to start, are worried about making the wrong choice -- or throwing away everything you've invested into your current career, this episode is for you.Today, we're talking about practical steps you can take to test and validate your career idea, so you reduce risk with your move.In a recent coaching session with a long-term leadership client, we worked on developing new habits and behaviours. As I shared with her, identifying the right strategy or having the ‘perfect' plan ALONE won't create change. What separates the clients who get results is that they take action -- repeatedly. EVEN when it's uncomfortable.Because when you consistently rinse and repeat, you build new neural pathways in the brain. And over time, those new habits and behaviours become embedded, resulting in permanent and transformative change.Yet one of the most common places I see high-achievers resist taking action is when it comes to testing and validating a potential career path. And I get it. Reaching out to someone to ask for a conversation can feel awkward.Life also gets busy, so it's easy to keep putting it off until you have no choice but to make a change. Plus at the heart of it all is a fear of failure which holds you back from taking action. It seems easier to stay where you are -- EVEN if you want something different. So in today's episode, I'm walking you through exactly how to test and validate a new career idea -- BEFORE you commit to anything. By the end, you'll have a proven process to assess risk and make your next move with confidence! You'll learn:Quick, low-stakes ways to test out potential paths -- without wasting a single penny or putting your current career on the lineWhat to do if you have multiple career ideas and don't know WHERE to start, so you get the clarity you need to move forward fasterHow to get real-world insights to validate your career or business idea -- in a way no behind-the-scenes research ever could!4 questions you must ask to confirm which path is the best fit for THIS season of your careerThe final 'gut check' that tells you whether to proceed (or pivot) with complete confidenceSo hit play NOW -- and let's dive in!Thanks for listening. In This Episode Franchises don't succeed because they're easy—they succeed because the systems are already built. In this episode, Adi Klevit interviews Chris Wilson about why franchising is fundamentally a systems play. Chris shares how his early exposure to franchises shaped his understanding of scalability and why documented processes make it easier for business owners to grow without reinventing the wheel. He explains that while franchises provide structure, success still requires intentional execution, people, and leadership. Adi and Chris dive into how franchise investors should approach due diligence. Chris outlines the importance of understanding what "average" performance looks like before attempting to outperform it and explains how analyzing Franchise Disclosure Documents and validating with existing operators creates a realistic picture of success. The conversation highlights that discovery and documentation reduce risk far more effectively than gut instinct. The discussion then shifts to business owners considering franchising their own companies. Chris explains why profitability, brand clarity, and documented runbooks are non-negotiable before scaling. He emphasizes that franchising requires a shift from running the business to supporting others who run it—making systems, processes, and knowledge transfer essential. The episode reinforces a core principle: if a business can't be documented, it can't be replicated.

Ash sits down with Dr. Ruth Mannschreck, a seasoned dentist turned practice transition coach, to talk about the real-world challenges and overlooked opportunities when selling a dental practice. Dr. Ruth shares the mistakes she made during her own transitions, such as not planning far enough in advance and not preparing the practice to be attractive to buyers from both a financial and operational standpoint. She emphasizes the importance of understanding what you want from a sale, proactively increasing value, and reducing buyer risk in ways that go beyond just the numbers. The conversation moves into the role of practice culture, team involvement, and the transition process. Propofol is one of the most vulnerable medications for diversion in healthcare — not because it lacks abuse potential, but because it lacks the regulatory oversight applied to controlled substances. In this episode of Rxpert Solutions, I'm joined by Michael T. Ring and Dale M. Pfrimmer to discuss their Mayo Clinic quality-improvement study published in Critical Care Nurse:“Propofol as a Drug of Diversion: Changing Disposal Practices to Reduce Risk.”Their work uncovered a major safety gap: before intervention, 44.1% of propofol bottles found in ICU waste bins were still full and accessible for diversion. After implementing activated carbon disposal pouches and specialized bottle-opening tools, that number dropped to zero.We explore:- The methodology behind their intervention- Overcoming education and workflow challenges- How environmental stewardship intersects with diversion prevention- Why their success led to system-wide adoption across all ICUs and the EDThis episode highlights how simple, practical changes can meaningfully reduce diversion risk and protect healthcare professionals — even for medications outside DEA scheduling.More from Rxpert Solutions: https://www.rxpert.solutions/?utm_source=spotify&utm_medium=insights&utm_campaign=mike-ring

I am excited to reconnect with Dr. Tom Dayspring today. He joined me before for an extremely popular seven-part podcast series where we tackled topics related to lipids and the physiological shifts that occur as we transition from perimenopause into menopause. Dr. Dayspring graciously agreed to return today for an Ask Me Anything episode, where we explore how lipids change as we navigate the perimenopause-to-menopause transition and discuss the significance of bioindividuality, inflammation, vascular health, and endothelial function in the context of changing estrogen levels. Dr. Dayspring also clarifies how visceral fat affects lipid levels, and we discuss testing for cardiovascular disease, the relevance of particle size, LPIR scores, and physical markers of insulin resistance. Stay tuned for today's valuable and fascinating conversation. I will share the second AMA with Dr. Dayspring later this fall. We went live, the chat exploded, and a listener voiced what so many feel but rarely say out loud: “I've followed the rules—so why doesn't my Retirement Plan feel safe?” https://www.youtube.com/live/gFQYEJWlWpI Bruce gave me the look that says, “Let's tell the truth.” Because we've seen it over and over: neat projections, tidy averages, and a plan that works—until the world doesn't. Markets don't ask permission. Inflation doesn't use a calendar. Life throws curveballs, blessings, and bills. If your Retirement Plan only survives in a spreadsheet, it's not a plan—it's a hope. Today, let's trade hope for structure and anxiety for action. What You'll Gain From This Guide In this article, Bruce and I break down what actually makes a strong Retirement Plan for real families: Why accumulation-only thinking creates a false sense of security—and how to pivot toward reliable income. The big retirement planning risks to plan for: sequence of returns risk, inflation and retirement, and taxes. Why the 4% rule retirement guideline is a starting point, not a promise. How to use retirement income buckets—in the same language we used on the show—to avoid selling at the worst time. Where guaranteed income in retirement, cash value life insurance, and (when appropriate) alternative income fit. How Roth conversions, withdrawal sequencing, and structure put you back in control. You'll walk away with a practical framework to move from “big balance” thinking to a Retirement Plan you can live on—calmly. Your Retirement Plan Isn't Just Math—It's Life Static models vs dynamic lives. As Bruce said, no family is static. Monte Carlo averages over 50–100 years don't describe your next 20. Averages hide timing risk. If poor returns arrive early while you're withdrawing, “average” performance won't save the plan—cash flow will. From accumulation to income. Most of us were trained to chase a number. But the goal of a Retirement Plan isn't a pile—it's predictable cash flow you can spend without gutting your future. That shift—from “How big?” to “How dependable?”—changes the tools you choose and the peace you feel. Use the LIFE purpose filter. We run every dollar through a purpose lens: Liquid, Income, Flexible, Estate. When each bucket has a job, decisions get simpler and outcomes get sturdier. Retirement Planning Risks You Can't Ignore Sequence of Returns Risk How Your Retirement Plan Avoids Selling Low Sequence risk is the danger of bad returns showing up early in retirement. If your portfolio drops while you're taking income, you must sell more shares to fund the same lifestyle. That shrinks the engine that's supposed to recover—and can cut years off a plan. Your protection: hold dedicated reserves and reliable income so market dips don't force sales. (We'll detail our buckets in a moment—exactly as we discussed on the show.) Inflation and the Cost-of-Living Squeeze Build Inflation Awareness Into Your Retirement Plan Prices don't rise politely. Even modest inflation, compounded, squeezes fixed withdrawals. Bond yields, dividend cuts, and rising living costs can collide. Your protection: blend growth and income that can adjust, avoid locking everything into fixed payouts that lose purchasing power, and review spending annually so your Retirement Plan keeps pace with reality. Taxes (The Leak You Don't See) Retirement Plan Tax Strategy & Withdrawal Sequencing Withdrawals from tax-deferred accounts are ordinary income. That can: Push you into higher brackets Trigger IRMAA Medicare surcharges Increase the taxation of Social Security Complicate capital gains planning Your protection: design taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free buckets; use Roth conversions in favorable years; and sequence withdrawals to manage brackets and RMDs—not the other way around. Is the 4% Rule Still Useful? The 4% Rule Is a Guide, Not a Guarantee Stress-Test Withdrawal Rates You Can Actually Live With We don't hate the 4% rule; we just refuse to outsource your life to it. Yields, inflation, fees, and timing change the math. When low-yield years pushed chatter toward “2.8%,” it proved the point. A better approach: Stress-test 3%–5% withdrawal rates. Add non-market income (pensions, annuities vs bonds, business/real-asset cash flow). Keep dedicated reserves so you don't sell at the bottom. Turn a rule of thumb into a plan. The Cash-Flow Toolkit Foundations — Guaranteed Income in Retirement Cover Essentials, Then Take Prudent Risk A predictable floor is priceless. Pensions, Social Security, and income annuities can cover core expenses so volatility doesn't dictate your grocery list. You trade some upside for contractual certainty—and many families prefer sleeping well to chasing every basis point. Flexibility — Cash Value Life Insurance Downturn Buffer, Tax-Advantaged Access, and Legacy Backfill Done properly, this can strengthen a plan: Downturn buffer: use cash value to fund spending during market slides—avoid selling equities at a loss. Tax-advantaged access: policy loans/distributions (managed correctly) can supplement income without spiking taxable income. Legacy backfill: the death benefit protects a spouse and replenishes assets for heirs, letting you spend with confidence. This is one reason infinite banking retirement thinking resonates: control and optionality matter when life isn't linear. Diversifiers — Alternative Income Investments Accredited Investor Rules, Liquidity, and Position Size For those who qualify under accredited investor rules, private credit, income-oriented real estate, or operating businesses can provide alternative income investments with lower correlation to public markets. They're not risk-free and often lack daily liquidity—so size positions prudently. The draw is simple: steadier cash flow vs accumulation. Retirement Plan Buckets We didn't frame them by time horizons on the episode; we framed them by purpose. Here's the exact structure we discussed and use with families: Liquidity / “Free” Bucket (safety net) Cash, money market, CDs, cash value life insurance.Purpose: fund spending and surprises without touching equities during a downturn; bridge timing gaps so sequence risk doesn't bite. Income Bucket (essentials) Social Security, pensions, annuity income, bond ladders, durable dividend payers.Purpose: dependable monthly cash flow for core lifestyle needs so markets don't control your paycheck. Growth / Equity Bucket (long-term engine) Broad equity exposure and other long-term growth assets.Purpose: outpace inflation and periodically refill income/liquidity buckets. Estate / Legacy Layer (optional) Life insurance death benefit, beneficiary designations, trusts.Purpose: protect a spouse and pass values + capital with clarity. Taxes: Design for Control, Not Surprise Roth conversions:Convert slices of tax-deferred money when brackets are favorable to grow your tax-free bucket. Withdrawal sequencing:Blend taxable/Roth/tax-deferred withdrawals to target bracket thresholds, manage IRMAA, and soften RMDs later. Give with intention:If charitable, consider appreciated assets or bunching strategies; align with your estate plan. We also coordinate tax buckets—taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free (Roth/cash value)—so your Retirement Plan controls brackets, IRMAA, and RMDs rather than the other way around. A tax-smart Retirement Plan can add years of sustainability without asking for more market risk. Behavior, Purpose, and Work You Love Clarity about why the money matters anchors behavior when markets wobble. Travel with grandkids? Fund ministry? Launch a family venture? Purpose steadies the hand. And one more lever: if you enjoy your work, consider delaying full retirement. Each extra year can improve the math dramatically—more contributions, fewer withdrawal years, and potentially higher Social Security benefits. Infinite Banking—Where It Fits in a Retirement Plan Lenders profit from your lifetime financing. Strengthening your family's “bank” can keep more control in your hands: Finance major purchases through your system rather than outside lenders—recapture more interest. Maintain cash value as a volatility buffer. Use the death benefit to protect a spouse and fund legacy goals. It's not magic. It's discipline and design—complementary to the rest of your Retirement Plan. What Makes a Strong Retirement Plan? Built for dynamic lives, not static spreadsheets. Prioritizes cash flow you can spend, not just a big balance. Plans around sequence risk, inflation, and taxes—on purpose.

The markets sold off last week in a much-needed correction. Market support coalesced around the 100- and 200-DMA at 5,790. Markets will bounce off that level today. A MACD sell signal is being triggered at a very high level, and we're not over sold quite yet, so markets are not finished with the relaxation/consolidation phase. There is still risk for markets, temporarily; there could be a pullback to the 50-DMA. The 6,000 level on the S&P will be a challenge at this point. Remember, June tends to be a weaker month for markets (and corporate share buy backs go away); July tends to be stronger (and buy back activity returns). If you have not yet rebalanced your portfolio against risk, today would be a good day to do so. By creating public-private partnerships, it takes a lot of risk off the table, Jesse Sells, Co-Founder and COO of Impact Growth Capital, recently began a partnership with the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority for a $300 million development to develop 600 new Multifamily units in Las Vagas. Jesse, with his brother Sam, are raising a $300 million fund to create similar opportunities in other similarly growing MSA's.
