Oftentimes, these beliefs were instilled in us in childhood and we carried them with us as we got older. In this episode, we talk about identifying and overcoming limiting beliefs because that is what will set you free. This is a very powerful conversation to have because a lot of us are stuck in prisons we don't even know we're creating. DISC is a well-known and widely utilized assessment tool that helps us better understand how we function in our personal, social, and work lives. Mike's guest this week is Evelyn Eccard. She is an executive coach and trainer who helps corporate teams and individuals better understand themselves and equips them with the people skills needed to become effective leaders. Evelyn started a business called Bravo Leadership Int'l in 2016 with the idea to help managers. Before running her business, she worked as a Region Sales Manager for a Fortune 500 company responsible for $50M in ancillary revenue. Evelyn realized that she could positively impact the company's culture by training, developing, and coaching the managers around her. When not coaching and training, she enjoys traveling. She likes to try new things in different places that make her heart race, like hiking Machu Picchu and surfing at Maui. In this episode, Evelyn and Mike will discuss the results of his DISC assessment. You'll better understand: How Evelyn started using personality assessment tools and how she deals with resistance to taking them. Mike's DISC results and what they mean. Why passionate people have strengths and weaknesses when pursuing different goals. How people can learn and improve skills that are not in their natural strength zone. Do you feel like you're a square peg in a round hole as an entrepreneur?  Many times, we think we have to get it all figured out right away. Then, we think we have to stay exactly the same as who we were the day we started. If our business doesn't look like it was supposed to look when we set out to start it, we view that as a failure. In today's episode, Katie Chase shares how her entrepreneurial journey revealed to her where her strength truly lies. Just because you start somewhere doesn't mean that's where you have to end. It's not a failure if you eventually realize that the business you've been building is not the business you should be working in. If you, too, feel that way in your business, then it's probably time to do a heart check and let Katie's story inspire you. In this episode, you will hear: Katie's origin story from motherhood to entrepreneurship. Her entrepreneurial journey and what she discovered along the way. Katie's financial journey and her ProfitHero experience. Why make a financial investment in yourself and your business? Her role now as an Integrator. Our guest today is  functional nutritionist, women's health expert, and extraordinary Incubator client Sarah Jane Sandy!  Sarah had a somewhat unusual experience as a new business owner back in the early 2000s: it was actually pretty easy for her from the start.  She grew up in a family that understood her business niche and had built successful businesses themselves in the holistic wellness space. She started out as a fertility expert inside a holistic  business collective, which made marketing and attracting new clients fairly easy. She had great luck early on with a web designer who built a site for her with excellent SEO and easily drew organic traffic.  Even though she was a hard worker, she also didn't really know what was going on in the background of her business. She'd stumbled on a business strategy that was working — but she didn't realize at the time how or why it was effective.  In 2020, COVID hit, and she also had a baby. Her life changed dramatically in just a few months. And the economy and tech industry were also changing rapidly. Because Sarah wasn't familiar with the inner workings of her business, she didn't know how to respond to the shift in her energy, her focus, and the strategic needs of her business.  By 2021, her business was in trouble.  Today Sarah is sitting down with guest host Indira to share her story of hitting a major slump and what she transformed about her approach that has transformed her business in just two years.  What you'll learn in this episode: How Sarah found her unique niche Why she experienced early business success with relative ease What caused her business to decline unexpectedly What she learned inside the Incubator that finally turned things around   Subscribe, Review + Connect Thanks so much for listening in this week! But Desi Domo has a totally different perspective about tarot and its purpose. She sees it as a mirror. Lacey Sites is a disruptor and a change maker in the coaching industry.  She's got the education, experience, and business intuition to figure out what's going to work for her, and she's not afraid to take risks and do things no one else is doing.  One of the most exciting ways she's disrupting the coaching industry is with her revenue sharing model. Simply put, Lacey's business earns money through sharing revenue with her clients. So rather than a package rate, or hourly rate, or any other traditional coaching model, Lacey gets paid a percentage of her clients' revenue.  This is not an uncommon practice in other industries, but it is in the business coaching world, and it's working out fantastically for Lacey: In 2021, her business A Lit Up Life made over $1 million in CASH using just their partnership and 1:1 coaching model.  So if you're curious what sharing revenue could do for your coaching biz, or if you just want to hear more about how out-of-the-box thinking can serve you as a business owner, then you're going to love this episode.  I've been implementing some of Lacey's ideas, as well, and I think her boundary-pushing mindset will really inspire you to let go of "should" and do what feels right for YOU.   I can't wait for you to hear all about this!    What you'll learn in this episode: What the Revenue Share model is and how it works Who are the best clients for revenue share? There's no doubt that if you're going to own your own business, there are going to be seasons where you've got to work hard. Whether it's developing a new offering, getting your website up and ready, or launching your program — sometimes you've got to go the extra mile to make things happen. But what happens when hustle becomes a lifestyle? Many of the women who come to us at the Incubator have been experiencing the long term effects of stress on the body: sleeplessness, panic attacks, inflammation, mysterious illnesses, constant worry. They want a way to break out of the nonstop grind that's diminishing their emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational wellbeing.  Running a business takes stamina. It's stressful sometimes. It just is. It requires a certain capacity to accept uncertainty. Dealing with stress from work can't be about eliminating all stress — because that's unreasonable and impossible. Practical advice about addressing burnout from work has to be rooted in the reality that business, just like the rest of life, moves in seasons. Learning how to identify and respond to what your body, mind, and spirit are telling you can bring a huge shift in dealing with stress from work and healing the long term effects of stress on the body. So if you're an entrepreneur and you're struggling with finding a healthy balance between hard work and real rest, then I hope you'll tune into this conversation I had with Sabrina Gebhardt on her podcast Shoot It Straight. It's honest and practical, and I think you'll feel both encouraged and empowered What you'll learn in this episode: Both Sabrina's and my own experience with work-related anxiety and stress The importance of dealing with the root cause rather than managing symptoms of burnout Why so many women don't feel it's safe to rest How cyclical living is both about longer seasons and daily practices Why setting boundaries is a crucial part of dealing with stress from work  Subscribe, Review + Connect Thanks so much for listening in this week! We've probably all felt it at one time or another: that gentle but persistent tugging at your soul towards something different.  Some part of you can't stop wondering if there is something bigger, better, more soul-fulfilling out there for you.  In today's episode, Dr. Tracey McGrath shares with us how she followed that pull and made the brave leap from Pharmacist to Mindful Art Teacher — with the help of meditation and mindful art, of course. This is a wonderful example of how the Universe works to draw us towards what we're meant for. In Tracey's case, the practices she turned to as a way to help her cope with a hard situation actually became her path to freedom.   We're exploring how these mindful practices can be powerful tools for boosting creativity, increasing confidence, encouraging mindset shifts, and finding your bliss. If you've been feeling stuck in a job that you KNOW is not right for you and you're so ready to find a career you love, but you don't know if there's a way out … then you're not going to want to miss this conversation with Tracey.  What you'll learn in this episode: How meditation, mindfulness, and the Incubator helped Tracey shed her identity as “the woman who hates her job.”  The mindset shift Tracey made that finally allowed everything to fall into place in her mindful art business.  The to-do list method that Tracey uses to manage her full days as a mom and entrepreneur (hint: she chooses the scariest tasks to complete first).  The ONE book that completely changed Tracey's life (even though she started reading it as an absolute skeptic).  Subscribe, Review + Connect Thanks so much for listening in this week! Let's see how many of you remember this “ancient” movie reference to the potential perils of AI (Artificial Intelligence): “Open the pod-bay door, HAL” “Sorry, Dave, but I can't do that” Whether or not you got the reference, there's definitely a lot of buzz about AI. Is it a potential ally? Will it be society's downfall? This week, Mike will share his thoughts and insights on recent trends in AI, especially ChatGPT. He'll discuss:  What ChatGPT can do pretty darn well, and what it can't do so well. How we often perceive (and misperceive) technological advances. Five ways we can make AI and other technological advances work for us, rather than against us. Why we must be our own best catalyst. Why it's becoming vital that we share our values.  Whatever your present feelings about AI, you'll find comfort and strength in Mike's wisdom. Please Read: Affirmations have been a huge part of my growth this past year and I thought it would be appropriate to publish the actual track I listen to every morning and evening. While my background is in writing, I've always found it difficult to write my own affirmations. I've collected several from a few books I've been reading, the most significant of which has been Quantum Success by Sandra Anne Taylor. This book contains several affirmations at the end of each chapter, so I recorded them and created my own affirmation track. If you'd like the transcript I wrote for this episode, visit the show notes page here: mikekim.com/yatb360.
