Checking in with Sarah Sanchez and Sarah Says!
Sarah Says, with Sarah Sanchez!
Sarah Sanchez didn’t know why she was constantly feeling fatigue or why she was having trouble breathing when she would just walk up and down the stairs. Her doctors either dismissed her concerns or claimed it was more of a psychological issue rather than a physical. It seemed like nobody took her illness seriously. Her health took a turn for seven years, until she began treatment for the unknown condition that was plaguing her – Lyme disease. Not satisfied with Western medicine and the U.S. health care system, Sarah slowly began using alternative medicine and changed her lifestyle to one that is focused on health and wellness. Now she hosts a podcast with her husband, Aaron, where they discuss the issues and solutions of Lyme disease. You can listen to her podcast, Lyme Voice, find her on Facebook, check out her film, Disappearing from Society, and get her book, Little Bite Big Trouble. Want to be more Fearless? Lyme Voice Radio, Discussing your Lyme Disease Journey with Aaron & Sarah Sanchez
Dr. Shawn Naylor is with Aaron and Sarah Sanchez, this is Lyme Voice Radio’s 21st Episode. Dr Naylor as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine talks about Lyme Disease and the different revolutionary approaches of Lyme disease treatment he uses within his practice. As a clinical preceptor for Rocky Vista College of Osteopathic Medicine his Sound Clinic is dedicated to treating patients with Lyme and other chronic illness through an innovative approach focused on resolving the proposition that health, balance, and well-being is a natural human state. The ultimate goal is to analyze the root causes of the disruptions and eventually guide patients experiencing chronic issues back to health. Influences of A.T Still, MD and Deitrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD play great roles in Dr Naylor’s practice of Osteopathy Medicine; Dr. Still’s the body has the ability to heal itself given the right conditions and Dr Klinghardt’s Applied Kinesiology with Autonomic Response Testing (ART). Dr Naylor through Sound Clinic dish out a complete Lyme Fighting, Healing and Living progression not only by totally establishing the derivative causes of the chronic symptoms but also in steamrolling entailed financial burdens which he acknowledge that many patients find challenging when dealing with Lyme. “A sound mind, sound advice, sound moral values.” Sound Clinic What’s in this episode: Fight – Dr Naylor talked about passion, passion for eradicating underlying issues is the key mobilization drive for Doctors who make Lyme disease treatment the main focus of their practices. A lot of Doctors who advocate for Lyme disease have not experience Lyme infection in their lives and still they believe in the toxicity of Chronic Lyme Illness. They never went through all the debilitating symptoms but still they advocate research and exploration of new methods for diagnosis and treatments of Lyme disease. However having gone through a Lyme infection will greatly help Doctors treat Lyme infection more aggressively. Their fore-knowledge of the degree of the debilitating pain will provide them the stimulus to pinpoint the onset of Lyme symptoms seriously. They know that in order to get rid of Lyme you have to possess the kind of attitude that says Lyme is not going to get me. Fight with a sound mind, for a sound mind can get you to places. Heal - Dr Shawn Naylor and his staff are a just a small force behind many Lyme advocate groups. Dr. Naylor admitted though that he had been through what folks with Lyme have to live through because he too had Lyme. He believes that patients have to possess the same passion as their doctor has for living, for them to effectively fight and rise against Lyme disease. A positive and go-getter attitude can play a commendable part in making patients get diagnosis for Lyme and rid themselves of all the debilitating symptoms of Lyme early on. Patients have to fight not only the symptoms but also fight for their insurance coverage sometimes making the battle for healing too weary for some. As discussed with other guests before Lyme disease drain patients physically, emotionally, psychologically and financially. He, through his Sound Clinic try to alleviate impacts by coming up with innovative ways to help patient cope with the enormity of the resulting Lyme issues. He advocates open-handed approach when handing in informative answers for insurance coverage for a lot of insurance companies are not well informed about the enormity of Chronic Illness thus limiting coverage. Patients have individual Lyme issues influenced by the unique structure of their individual immune systems and every one of them don’t have to undergo the same treatment rules his treatment methods. Individualized approach is what he advocate for and patients’ attitude are the ones that will determine how long or how short that treatment is going to be. Listen to sound advice it may have something that’s worth seeing. Live – Listen to what your body is telling you. Healing is not instantaneous so patients have to move slowly through their recovery. Don’t be in too much of a hurry because one little gain entails a lot of repercussion if you become too confident your health is normal again and overdo things. It’s easy to overdo things unconsciously then you may lost the ground you’ve already covered and be back where you started off. Help of loved ones in presenting a solid help support to the patient while taking breaks in between caregiving to avoid burn out. Both should be watchful of becoming too co-dependent with each other the caregiver of being needed and the patient of being cared for. Sometimes trauma can trigger chronic Lyme and bang an infected person goes through the worse Lyme symptoms. Nevertheless the world is changing now with regards to Lyme testing and treatments syncing with technology so parameters and methodology used before in treating Lyme patients are slowly turning for the better. Dr Naylor advocates for patients to always possess a substantial character with sound moral values then the possibility of getting waylaid from the right path is lessened. Proactive approaches to getting Lyme testing to a new level where people who complain of going through apparent Lyme symptoms should be tested for Lyme immediately. The longer the period of gestation a person with Lyme disease is allowed to undergo it’s harder for the patient to recover. Dr Naylor is active in getting the word out there; to the legislators and researchers, letting them know the widespread scope Lyme infection has claimed today. Those states which was declared Lyme free before are now showing signs they are becoming Lyme hot beds and those old data are now defunct. They got Lyme disease in there and it’s getting lethal. He is also proactive in seeking alternative treatments for each patient in connection with a patient’s financial capability and he channels his efforts into his cause “Integrating Conventional and Alternative Approach to Healthcare”. He believes that individuals have different capacities and he’s willing to listen and fit them into one of the variations. He’s after getting patients healed and not in getting patients into medical indebtedness. Information is everybody’s business and it’s very easy to get hold of information nowadays. Be informed and be proactive in seeking out information and facts then you may advocate for yourself when faced with disbelieving people especially a disbelieving doctor.
