The tithe is giving 10% of your income, the product of Your work, to the Lord and His work. Contributions are anything beyond the 10%. This is often referred to as a gift, but it’s not a gift. It is His and that is why He uses the word 'rob' when we do not give those tithes and offerings. It is not robbing someone to not give them a gift. Robbing is when we take what is theirs. 100% of what we have is from God and belongs to God, and we give the tithe as evidence of our understanding of this. We are stewards of what He has given. A steward is a manager of the owner’s stuff for the owner’s purposes. Now with that as a background listen to Jesus. referring to the tithe, the 10%. And again, notice, Jesus says that it is His. Now when God calls for us not to rob Him, His goal is not getting money. His goal is blessing. Show that you understand everything is from Him, show that you respect that as the owner He can call for the tithe, show that your faith is in Him, not money.
On a cold, soggy walk back to the bee yard, Jim reflects on an uncomfortable but important topic: robbing. With temperatures hovering around 40°F and only a hint of flight activity, he begins to question what he's seeing. Are the bees simply stretching their wings, or are they already checking neighboring colonies for available resources? Jim revisits a warm spell from a few weeks earlier when surprising flight activity left him wondering if robbing had begun earlier than expected. With no pollen coming in and no nectar flow underway, what else would bees be searching for? In this episode, Jim challenges the negative framing of "robbing." Is it truly thievery, or is it something more biologically strategic? From a beekeeper's perspective, robbing can devastate weak colonies. But from a survival standpoint, reappropriating abandoned food reserves may be one of the most efficient resource-conservation strategies in nature. Late winter is a quiet season in the bee yard—but as Jim reminds us, even in the cold, the bees are already thinking ahead. ______________________ Thanks to Betterbee for sponsoring today's episode. In this insightful conversation, host Aaron M. Renn sits with Jeff Giesea, Stanford grad, entrepreneur, and founder of the Boyd Institute—a policy lab focused on bold solutions for America's future, tackling gerontocracy, overregulation, AI, and social fragmentation. They dive deep into the structural challenges facing the country: the Boomer Paradox (how older generations are both holding society together and holding it back), the rise of gerontocracy and its impact on young Americans, the transformative power of AI as democracy's best hope, America's declining state capacity and overregulation, and the urgent need to shift from performative culture-war politics to real problem-solving.Whether you're concerned about housing, fiscal policy, technological disruption, or national renewal, this episode offers thoughtful, heterodox perspectives on building a flourishing post-Boomer America.CHAPTERS:(00:00 - Introduction)(00:42 - The Big Issues America Ignores)(02:28 - Gerontocracy: The Real Demographic Crisis)(03:10 - Who Advocates for Young Americans?)(05:34 - The Boomer Paradox: Holding Us Back and Together)(07:13 - The Long Boomer Farewell & Interregnum Ahead)(09:11 - Boomer Influence in Politics & Policy)(10:14 - Property Taxes, Housing, and Robbing the Future)(13:01 - Boomer Caregiving & Political Wreckage)(15:58 - Local Impacts: Schools, NIMBYism, and Driving Laws)(17:03 - Overregulation & Lost State Capacity)(31:05 - Public Sector Competence & Private Sector Dynamism)(32:44 - AI as Democracy's Best Hope for Renewal)(34:04 - Why Democracies Struggle & How AI Can Help)(35:15 - America's Unique Challenges vs. Other Countries)(37:37 - Wanting Competent Government That Delivers)(39:36 - Enemies of Progress: Regulation, Unions, Fragmentation)(41:04 - Emerging Consensus on Reform & Building)(43:46 - Shifting from Performative Politics to Real Solutions)(45:21 - How to Approach Politics) JEFF GIESEA LINKS:

shrinkflation Shrinkflation Is Robbing You Blind | Episode 590 Good morning. This is James from SurvivalPunk.com. It's 46 degrees. I'm cold. I don't like being cold. But that's not what we're talking about today. Today we're talking about something that affects every single one of us every single week. Shrinkflation. And how companies are quietly screwing you over while pretending nothing changed. Listen now. What Shrinkflation Actually Is Shrinkflation is simple. The bag looks the same. The box looks the same. The price looks the same. But you're getting less. Your “pound” bag of chips? Not a pound anymore.16 ounces becomes 14.5 ounces.Same packaging. Same shelf space. Same mental price anchor. They don't raise the price because people notice price increases. They shrink the product because most people never check the weight. That's the game. Why It Works on Your Brain Everyone has internal price anchors. You know what Coke “should” cost. You know what ground beef “should” cost. You know what eggs “should” cost. When the price jumps too far past that mental number, you hesitate. You buy less. You switch brands. So instead of raising prices aggressively, companies keep the sticker steady and shave ounces off the back end. That's less likely to trigger your brain. And it works. The Worst Offenders Right Now Chips.Soda.Single-serve snacks. The further you get from bulk, the worse the value gets. A 12-pack of Coke creeping toward $9.97? That's insane. Run the unit math. If it's buy 2 get 3 free at Kroger, do the math.Total cost divided by total units. If it comes out to $4 a case? That's closer to reality. Unit price is king. Always. Same with meat. Ground beef has exploded. But sometimes a 50/50 beef-pork blend at Walmart hits that sweet spot. Closer to ingredients = better value.Closer to convenience = you're getting wrecked. Ingredients Beat Snacks Every Time Plain oats? Still solid.Rice? Still dependable.Flour? Still cheap. Bulk ingredients have padding built in. They absorb inflation better. Single-serve cookies? Astronomical. Two cookies can cost almost as much as a full bag. And if you run the math on making them from scratch, the ROI is ridiculous. The closer you move toward bulk, the better your survival position gets. That's not theory. That's math. Group Buys Might Be the Secret Weapon This might be its own episode. But think about this. Shipping kills value. Whether it's supplements, bulk meat, or specialty items. Split that shipping with friends? Now the math changes. Split a primal cut of beef.Split bulk orders.Split shipping costs. Suddenly your unit price drops dramatically. We talk prepping all the time. But cost discipline is prep too. Final Thoughts Shrinkflation is real. They're not just raising prices. They're reducing value. Your defense is simple: Check weight.Check unit price.Buy bulk.Run the math.Split costs when you can. Stop shopping emotionally.Start shopping strategically. That's survival in 2026. This is James from SurvivalPunk.com. DIY to survive. It was in 2020 in the Logan Square neighborhood when according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Donte Hughes and another person grabbed a postal worker and robbed her of U.S.P.S. property. Last year, Hughes pleaded guilty to a federal robbery charge. This month, a judge sentenced the 34-year-old Hughes to four years and three months in federal prison.

January 23, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 83 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers and their ongoing search for a new head coach. Alex and I discuss the Baltimore Ravens hiring Jesse Minter as their new head coach. We also discuss Miami Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver having an in-person meeting with the Steelers on Friday. We also talk about DC Brian Flores signing a contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings and what it is likely to mean or not mean. Brian Baldinger said on Thursday that he thinks the Steelers might be interested in Miami Hurricanes HC Mario Cristobal. We discuss his report on that topic during this show. We also go over the fact that the Steelers are seemingly now down to five final candidates for their head coach job, pending any other late interviews happening. Alex and I go over the situations and rules related to the Steelers possibly having any interest in any members on the staffs of the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos during this show. The Steelers signed another player to a Reserve/Future contract on Thursday, so we make sure to recap that transaction. Should a potential duo of Mike Shula as Steelers head coach and Nate Scheelhaase as offensive coordinator be a concern to fans when it comes to potentially having the latter of the two robbed from the team in the next years? Alex and I discuss that question due to social media concern related to that topic. In the middle of this show, Alex and I discuss the future of Steelers DB Jalen Ramsey in 2026. We go over his contract, his current salary cap charge, and the decisions the Steelers will need to make concerning Ramsey's roster and option bonuses in his contract. The NFL will play their Conference Championship games on Sunday, so ahead of those two games taking place, Alex and I pick the two contests against the spreads that are listed on MyBookie.ag, a longtime sponsor of our podcast. Lastly, Alex and I go over the several emails responses we have received from listeners of the show related to the four quarterback questions we asked late during the Wednesday show. There were a ton of emails to read and while we hit a lot of them, we were unfortunately unable to get to all of them. Alex and I discuss the likelihood of the Steelers trading for San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones to close out this Friday episode of the podcast. This 99-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Misfits were truly unique. Scary. Violent. Angry. Nihilistic. These words can easily describe not only their music, but also the band as people, particularly frontman Glenn Danzig. Rumored to have been arrested for grave robbery, locked up abroad and inciting riots here in the States, the Misfits blazed a path of annihilation trading on fictional B-movie and scandal rag imagery to create one of the most enduring cult followings of all time and combating the very real sense of alienation that fueled Danzig's creativity and violent behavior.
