This week on Fed Watch, ITR Economist and Speaker Lauren Saidel-Baker breaks down a major Supreme Court decision striking down the administration's use of emergency powers to impose tariffs, and what that means for inflation, business costs, and economic uncertainty ahead. With fourth quarter GDP coming in at 1.4% and core PCE inflation rising to 3%, headlines are painting a mixed picture. Is growth really faltering? Are inflation pressures reaccelerating? And how should business leaders interpret the latest data amid shifting trade policy? Lauren unpacks what is signal versus noise, why government shutdown effects matter, and why inflation may not fade as quickly as some hope. Most importantly, she explains why the tariff ruling does not automatically mean lower prices for businesses and consumers. If you are navigating margin pressure, pricing strategy decisions, or concerns about profitless prosperity, this episode offers critical context. What does this ruling really mean for your cost structure in 2026?

[NOTE: This podcast does not replace medical treatment. If you struggle with Lyme care, please see a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor.] In this episode of the Love, Hope, Lyme Podcast, Fred Diamond, author of "Love, Hope, Lyme: What Family Members, Partners, and Friends Who Love a Chronic Lyme Survivor" sits down with Dr. Jennifer Miller, who oversees clinical and scientific operations at Galaxy Diagnostics, for one of the most important conversations we've ever had about Lyme disease. We discuss the basics. Not just what Lyme does, but why it happens in the first place. Dr. Miller brings decades of deep scientific experience studying Borrelia burgdorferi and explains: ✅ How ticks actually become infected ✅ Why nymph ("seed") ticks are the biggest threat to humans ✅ What happens biologically inside the tick and inside your body ✅ Why Borrelia is so hard for the immune system (and antibiotics) to find ✅ How co-infections like Bartonella and Babesia complicate diagnosis and recovery ✅ Why some people develop neurological symptoms while others don't ✅ Why today's antibody tests often miss active infections and how Galaxy is working on direct detection methods to change the standard of care We also talk about:
This week we're sitting down with Dr. Pete to talk about something that affects almost every dog owner: Ticks and Heartworm. This may not become a large part of your dogs life if you follow your veterinarian's advice about treating for these two things. If you don't, your dog could be at risk of some major issues should they run into developments from these two things. Do you know how ticks become carriers of Lyme? Have you considered your dog's risk of heartworm? WE talk about it all on this podcast and some of it may surprise you. This information is helpful for all dog owners and especially those who spend significant time outdoors! Thanks so much for listening and be sure to subscribe and review!

Host and American Family Farmer, Doug Stephan www.eastleighfarm.com shares the biggest news affecting family farmers, starting with tax deductions farmers can use before filing. There are ways of deducting land, and how much depending on renting vs ownership and if you live on the land or not. If you're a livestock producer, feed is a sizable write off and crop farmers can write off seeds and seedlings. Equipment repairs and depreciation can also be deductibles, along with fencing and whatever other farming equipment you have. Then, focus shifts to the Asian Longhorn Tick, a major threat to U.S. farmers because it reproduces rapidly without mating, forming massive infestations that cause severe stress, blood loss, and death in livestock. Lastly, Doug addresses the California push to save the wolves, but the success has caused chaos for farmers and ranchers in Northern California. The return of gray wolves to California after a century-long absence has brought serious challenges. While many—especially in urban areas—celebrated the wolves' comeback as a conservation win, the growing population, now estimated at roughly 50 to 70 animals, has led to increasing and sometimes devastating livestock losses that threaten ranchers' livelihoods.Website: AmericanFamilyFarmerShow.com Social Media: @GoodDayNetworks

Episode 126 of Tablesetters breaks down a stretch of offseason moves that didn't rely on shock value, but clearly revealed how several teams are positioning themselves for 2026. We open with Tatsuya Imai nearing the end of his MLB posting window with a January 2 deadline and, by his own admission, far less clarity than expected. Despite an elite résumé in Japan and interest from multiple clubs, firm offers have yet to materialize. We examine why interest hasn't translated into action, which teams remain involved, the importance of family and contract structure in his decision, and what it means if Imai ultimately returns to Seibu. From there, we move to Baltimore, where the Orioles re-sign Zach Eflin on a one-year deal. We break down what Eflin realistically provides coming off an injury-filled season, where he fits alongside Kyle Bradish, Trevor Rogers, and Shane Baz, and why this move stabilizes the rotation without removing the Orioles from the frontline starter market. The Athletics make their clearest long-term statement by locking up Tyler Soderstrom. We dig into how his extension reshapes the lineup, why his move to left field mattered after Nick Kurtz's arrival, and how a core featuring Soderstrom, Brent Rooker, Lawrence Butler, Shea Langeliers, Jacob Wilson, and Jeff McNeil gives the A's one of the deeper young offenses in the league as they build toward Las Vegas. Cincinnati's pivot away from the Luis Robert trade market brings the bullpen into focus. We break down the additions of JJ Bleday and Dane Myers, the pitching depth lost along the way, and why the Reds' roster decisions align with Nick Krall's stated priority of fixing a relief group that quietly became one of the team's biggest concerns. We close the Meat of the Order in Pittsburgh, where the Pirates sign Ryan O'Hearn to the largest free-agent position-player deal in franchise history. We discuss why O'Hearn fits PNC Park, how he complements Spencer Horwitz and Brandon Lowe, and why Pittsburgh's recent aggression has created legitimate momentum — including growing buzz around Kazuma Okamoto. Steve and Devin connect the dots across international markets, roster math, and team-building philosophy, focusing less on headlines and more on what these moves tell us about how clubs believe games will be won next season. ⚾️ Deadlines approaching, cores taking shape, and priorities becoming clear.
Send us a textIt's the last episode of 2025! On this episode the Beaveman presents one of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories out there. The belief that Lyme Disease was created in a lab on Plum island at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center. I mean, let's not just assume that Lyme Disease has been around for thousands of years. That would be ridiculous. It's clearly a biological weapon created by an evil genius in order to wreak havoc on the battlefield by causing a rash and vague symptoms like fatigue and joint disease weeks to years after exposure. Oh wait, that is ridiculous. Welcome to some of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories that could only be imagined in the USA. Thank you to all our listeners. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. US bureau chief Jacob Magid and diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman join host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet voted early Friday morning in favor of a Gaza ceasefire deal that will see hostages freed in exchange for Palestinian security prisoners and a halt to the fighting, despite vocal objections from the premier’s far-right coalition partners. Magid fills us in on who voted for what. The Israel Defense Forces has begun its withdrawal to new lines inside of the Gaza Strip, 72 hours after which Hamas will release all the hostages. Magid expands on how much territory the IDF will hold under the "Yellow Line" and how it may respond to threats. And we learn about plans for a US military team of 200 people that will be deployed in the Middle East to “oversee” the Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Finally, we hear a full episode of the Friday Focus with Lazar Berman, "Is Israel's Hamas problem solved?" Check out The Times of Israel's ongoing liveblog for more updates.
