On October 12, 2012, Shanya Hubers called 9-1-1 to report that she killed her then-boyfriend Ryan Poston in his home in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Hubers shot Poston six times, but she continually maintained that the killing was in self-defense. On October 12, 2012 a 911 operator for Campbell County, Ohio received a frantic call from a woman who said she had killed her boyfriend in self-defense. She reported that she had shot him with a loaded gun that was already in the house, and she was absolutely sure he was dead. As it would later turn out this phone call had been made by Shayna Hubers, and the man she killed was her on again off again boyfriend, 29 year old Ryan Poston. She was beautiful, young, and a gifted student. According to Shayna, Ryan Poston had beaten her and he was reaching for a gun when she grabbed it and shot him. She said that Ryan was throwing her around the room like a ragdoll, into furniture, the walls, and onto the floor. He was evil, she said, and he deserved what he got.But evidence did not support Shayna's version of events. Family, friends, and acquaintances would come forward to describe a very different reality from what Shayna had described; a reality where Shayna was obsessed with Ryan and he was a kind man who had been trying to break up with her for months. Today, we're talking about Shayna Hubers, who I heard about in this wonderful book called Porn and Murder. This is an actual book that I own on my kindle account.  Shayna was convicted of murdering her on again/off again boyfriend Ryan Poston in 2012. 

On October 12, 2012, Ryan Carter Poston, an attorney at law from Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, was shot to death by his on again off again girlfriend Shayna Michelle Hubers. Shayna Hubers and Ryan Poston's tumultuous relationship lasted for 18 months before Poston's death.
