In this episode the Budnik-Scarupa Clan tackles this controversial episode, from Season 3. The family has an disagreement over a missed casting opportunity for Starlord from the Guardians of the Galaxy films and Bryan brings some rather interesting and weird tidbits about this episode. This episode has been increasingly difficult to find due it being pulled from syndication as well as streaming services. This is due to the involvement of Michael Jackson, after allegations against him surfaced after his death. The family has discussions on cancel culture as well as how they feel about the episode being pulled from circulation. That being said they decide to look at the episode first without considering the allegations and then take some time, near the end, to look at how many feel that the episode has been tainted due to these allegations. Please be advised that some may find these discussions disturbing, but we provide advance warning when these discussions begin, for those that may be sensitive to topics such as this. Normally we speak about cinema, television, and theatre on Fridays at 11, but today Tat and Dustin decided to push into other areas, specifically the politics of "cancel culture" and the dangers of not knowing history. The events happening in the United States at the moment are extremely unsettling, and these attempts to erase history, simply because one does not like the events of history, can be extremely hazardous to mankind. Winston Churchill warned of the dangers of not knowing history, being that one is doomed to repeat it. Among this chat, is a season 3 episode of THE SIMPSONS, which was specifically written by Matt Groening for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. This episode, entitled, STARK RAVING DAD, has apparently been removed from all streaming platforms, such as Disney Plus, as it is considered offensive to some, and God only knows why. The good news, is you can find it on YouTube and watch the episode in its entirety. (You can find it in parts on YouTube, by clicking HERE) Politics and political correctness strike again. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/millertimemedia/support

This week in an attempt to resolve all of the cliffhangers we have a discussion about the true meaning of progress that begins Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bonus Journey then ends with a Stark Raving Dad. Then we travel back to 2004 so Devon can tell us the exact reason why he hates Donnie Darko. Finally we discuss just how normal the film “Captain Marvel” is and how that might not necessarily be a bad thing.

James and Nick are back for season 3 of The Simpsons! This week we've got Stark Raving Dad, in which Michael Jackson deals with fragile early 90s masculinity, and Mr Lisa Goes To Washington, in which Mr Lisa (a character we've never seen prior and never see again), uh, goes to Washington. If you've been listening to this podcast thinking 'this is good, but what I really want is a lengthy description of the time James won $1500 from Reader's Digest through ethically questionable means', then this is the episode for you. We also talk about The Simpsons quite a bit! This one's pretty good fun! Hey, does anyone read show notes? The rumors are true, we are a NEW and NOTEWORTHY podcast on iTunes. Suck it, Mr. and Mrs. Money Cast! Today, Lady Gags comes to Springfield?! Is it true?? AND special guest Dan Ozzi from the VICE music blog "Noisey?" That must mean it's time for season 23's finale, "Lisa Goes Gaga." And boy does she, in a "joke" filled episode where there's no time to feel anything. Because, damnit, we must reference every outfit Lady Gaga has ever worn, then cram in a few musical numbers. We discuss the evolution of celebrity appearances on The Simpsons, wonder what the show might look like if it started today, and extensively compare this episode to its much better predecessor, "Stark Raving Dad." Do you really need to have Flanders meet Gaga? Why wasn't this episode just a remake of the seminal Chuck Norris classic, "Sidekicks?" And how come no one has seen Michael Jackson's body lately (#wheresthatbody)? All that, plus fetal moonshine, the many deaths of Moe, and (ugh) "Homer Face."
