Our very, very special guest today is the great Kevin Harrington, who most Beatles fans will recognize as the “redhead on the roof” in the Let It Be and Get Back films. At the time, Kevin was only 18 years old(!) but had been working for the Beatles, in some capacity, for years, first as an errand boy at NEMS and then as an assistant to Brian Epstein. He worked alongside Mal Evans as the Beatles' “roadie,” as he's billed in the Let It Be credits. After the Beatles broke up, Kevin stayed closely in the fold, even living at Friar Park with George and Patti during the recording of All Things Must Pass. Then, he finally struck out on his own in the ‘70s and beyond and was a roadie with some of the biggest names in music, including Wishbone Ash, Motorhead, Petula Clark, Ted Nugent, Tina Turner and more. This week the lads hop across the pond to do some more excavation of denim and leather… Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Saxon, Judas Priest are not on this episode, however, the one and only: Tony Griggs is! The NWOBM movement was filled with passionate bands from Great Britain that were poised to take over the world in the early 80s. Tony is a big fan of these groups and we are happy to have him on board to help spread the word and sounds for those bands that didn't quite make it to the mainstream. What's this InObscuria thing? SWR1 Meilensteine - Alben die Geschichte machten

1979 veröffentlichten Thin Lizzy ihr Album "Black Rose: A Rock Legend". Do Anything You Want To". Ace pilots, tail gunners, commandos and submariners. We're going back before all that to the middle of the punk explosion. Playing the toughest East London pubs, Iron Maiden had to work blue.  The songs were about sex pests, sex workers, spending the night in jail and the Opera.According to legend, Steve Harris formed Iron Maiden on Christmas Day 1975 and that is where our story will begin. This epic tale will feature guest appearances and name drops like Ash Mountain (don't worry, you'll know who that is by the end of the episode) Metallica, Black Sabbath, Everett interpretation of quantum mechanics, medieval torture devices, longswords, longbows, crossbows, chain mail, Punk'd, Togo Navy, Spaceward Studios, Paul Di'Anno, Dave Murray, The Bandwagon, The Soundhouse Tapes, E.M.I., Wishbone Ash, Martin Birch, Guy Edwards, Andy Scott, Wil Malone, Martin Levan, Kingsway Studios, Prowler, Remember Tomorrow, Running Free, Phantom of the Opera, Lars Ulrich, Fade to Black, Sanitarium, Transylvania, Strange World, Charlotte the Harlot, Paul Mario Day, Bruce Dickinson, Eddie, Derek Riggs, Electric Matthew Says Hello, Top of the Pops, YouTube, Clive Burr, Dennis Stratton, Adrian Smith, Urchin, Taipei, Kiss, The Eagles, Tears for Fears, Motely Crue, Hawkwind, Miss Universe Beauty Pageant. Up the irons! #SketchComedy #Sketch #Comedy #Sketch Comedy #Atheist #Science #History #Atheism #ConspiracyTheory #Sceptical #Scepticism #Mythology #Religion #Devil #Satan #Skeptic #Debunk #HeavyMetal #IronMaiden #UpTheIrons #NWoBHM

Próximo programa: Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom (Cine) / Aquaman Vol. 2 (Comics).

This has been preceded by the video It's All Too Late – a track taken from the album – which was uploaded live on YouTube on the 29th September. This song has already had international airplay, and reached number 2 in one of the major Rock charts in Australia (Banks Radio Australia Valley FM 85.9), as number 4 in one of the UK's (The Chart of Gold). Two tracks from their first ep appeared on the Charity Compilation "Shoulder to Shoulder" alongside tracks by Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), Robyn Hitchcock, Noel Gallagher, Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) and Wishbone Ash. This collection was organised by David Quaife, whose brother Pete was the original bass player of the British rock legends The Kinks. Creation Records' Alan McGee even praised the album in question, Celebs Matthew Modine, and Michael Keaton are fans. Note the earlier time if you want to call into the live show.

On this Andy Powell interview: Tracing a lifetime of musical success to ONE bold move he made, early on in his career (with Richie Blackmore)… Tons of stories: opening up for The Who for his first gig (age 14), Deep Purple… working with Tom Dowd, Miles Copeland, Martin Birch & Bill Szymczyk… smoking hash in Marrakesh… Seeing Clapton, Hendrix, Cream, Fairport Convention, Peter Green, John Mayall (w/ Mick Taylor) in concert… the deliberate decision to come up with the twin lead guitar sound. His work ethic and how it informed his attitude and success in music… Being so broke, the band was literally starving… What business old record companies were REALLY in, and why “It's not about Andy, it's about the Band.” AWESOME convo with a lovely guy Cool Guitar, Music & ELG T-Shirts!: http://www.GuitarMerch.com   Andy Powell is a founding member and guitarist of the British rock band Wishbone Ash.
