In this episode, we read a passage from Prof. Sam Austen's feline-language translation of Ted Kaczynski's infamous manifesto, which has reportedly earned him a lifetime ban from Golden State Medical University, where he formerly chaired the Feline Behavioral Sciences department. A brief interview with Mr. Austen follows. UPDATE 06/20/23 - Amazon has shut down production of The Unabomber Manifesto (For Your Cat) and terminated Sam Austen's Kindle Publishing account. There are estimated to be approximately 300 copies in circulation. If you find one for sale on the secondary market, please point us toward the listing for a reward. This week's podcast was brought to you by The Unabomber Manifesto (For Your Cat) by Theodore J. Kaczynski, translated by Sam Austen, which has been banned worldwide as of 6/20/2023. Publisher's Summary: “The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the feline race...” First published in 1995, Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski's explosive and prescient assault on all things modern has since been translated into over 10 languages, but never before has it been made accessible to your cat. Feline linguist and frequent prison correspondent Sam Austen's translation provides long-awaited access to Kaczynski's unabridged text to housecats, arming them with the revolutionary knowledge required to transcend their shameful domestication and make the world a better place - by any means necessary. Praise for this bold new translation of Industrial Society and its Future:“Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow. Meow meow meow, meow meow. Meow.” - Scruffle Pie, Unaltered Domestic Shorthair“Meow meow meow? Meow! MEOW. MEOW. MEOW.” - Wiggles, Stray Tabby / Militant“Meow meow meow! If you release this trash, I am going to kill you.” - Anonymous Poster, Anarcho-Primitivist Reddit forum

The solution to the Zodiac serial killer case is as clear as it is controversial. One man, a letter writer, bomb maker, and code creator, was living in the area at the time of the Zodiac murders, had easy access to all the crime scenes, and had had a psychotic break at the time the Zodiac began his heinous murder campaign. A genius-level mathematician, he was clever enough to disguise his handwriting, avoid leaving evidence like fingerprints, and produce diabolically difficult ciphers to taunt the police and the public with his identity that lurked just on the other side of his impossibly difficult codes. That man is Theodore J. Kaczynski.A product of the MK Ultra project at Harvard University, Kaczynski was one of the youngest mathematics professors in UC Berkeley history, a position he despised. Kaczynski committed his first murder as the Zodiac over winter break, 1968, and his second just after resigning his post as professor in July 1969. His criminal signature, letter writing and code making, continued unabated across both of his criminal careers as the Zodiac and Unabomber.EXPOSED takes the reader through all the evidence presented in the first two books, HUNTED and PROFILED, and systematically connects the Zodiac and Unabomber cases through handwriting, codes, locations, literature, cultural references, and other unexpected details. EXPOSED makes it impossible to dismiss Kaczynski as the Zodiac, one of the most evil serial killers of all time. EXPOSED: The Zodiac Revealed (The Zodiac Serial Killer)-Dr. Mark Hewitt
"So I agree with the anarcho-primitivists that the advent of civilization was a great disaster and that the Industrial Revolution was an even greater one. I further agree that a revolution against modernity, and against civilization in general, is necessary. But you can't build an effective revolutionary movement out of soft-headed dreamers, lazies, and charlatans. You have to have tough-minded, realistic, practical people, and people of that kind don't need the anarcho-primitivists' mushy utopian myth." —T. A vent'anni. Neppure a Natale è venuto. E solo a febbraio ho iniziato a sentire che era instabile. L'ho fatto ritornare immediatamente a casa e abbiamo iniziato a seguirlo.
“‘Oh!' say the technophiles, ‘Science is going to fix all that! We will conquer famine, eliminate psychological suffering, make everybody healthy and happy!' Yeah, sure. The technophiles are hopelessly naive (or self-deceiving) in their understanding of social problems. Thus it will take a long and difficult period of trial and error for the technophiles to work the bugs out of their Brave New World (if they ever do). In the mean time there will be great suffering.” —T. Kaczynski, Industrial Society and Its Future (1995). Cabin is the new season from The Relentless Picnic. “It may be objected that primitive man is physically less secure than modern man, as is shown by his shorter life expectancy; hence modern man suffers from less, not more than the amount of insecurity that is normal for human beings. But psychological security does not closely correspond with physical security. It is true that primitive man is powerless against some of the things that threaten him; disease for example. But he can accept the risk of disease stoically. It is part of the nature of things, it is no one's fault, unless it is the fault of some imaginary, impersonal demon. But threats to the modern individual tend to be MAN-MADE.” —T. Kaczynski, Industrial Society and Its Future (1995). Cabin is the new season from The Relentless Picnic. Theodore J. Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, was the sole perpetrator of a string of attacks lasting decades. He would mail bombs to people involved in technology hoping to incite a revolution to return to humanity's wild roots, as well as to exact his revenge on society. Obviously, this is a very bad idea. || More Human Echoes stuff: http://humanechoes.com || Become a member for BONUS PODCASTS: http://bit.ly/1NkSWnQ || Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/HumanEchoes Watch our Gaming Content: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNRKd5q0ZCV_NX85LePyPAA Bad Ideas Podcast on iTunes: http://apple.co/2yrDfyx Buy some T-shirts: http://bit.ly/1NetNNP Join our Community Discord: https://discord.gg/vyMvJx7 Listen to Bad Ideas: https://youtu.be/8RDb6jlY_4A Watch Dirt Block: https://youtu.be/MfdHU-E_N70 Watch Dwarf Fortress: https://youtu.be/4shyDUgoc6c You can also follow the Human Echoes Peeps on Twitter! @HumanEchoes @tsouthcotte @albert_berg @josephdevon @ManicPix
