Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs provides an update from Syria on Christians there. It’s an amazing story of a missionary couple in Libya who stayed there when civil war broke out. They told their Muslim neighbors that Jesus would protect them. And when they finally did leave these Muslim neighbors praised Jesus for doing exactly what their American friends had told them Jesus would do. The story in today’s podcast! And the couple who went to Libya to set up a gospel lighthouse and desperately needed flour to feed their baby and God provided for them in the most unexpected and generous way. And so many more stories! Jesus is showing still showing up in Muslims’ dreams in the Middle East. Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs just returned from meeting up with persecuted Christians in the Middle East and though he’s heard many stories of Jesus dreams, what struck him this time is the specific message Jesus is sharing with Muslims in their dreams. We hear about the Jesus follower who when it was time to pay for his food at the market was asked by the Muslim cashier, “Do you have peace in your heart??” Then the cost of following Jesus for one family has been living without the head of their family for years because this man gave his life over to Jesus and had to flee for his life. Also we hear about the Jesus follower who every time he meets up with a Muslim farmer is asked, “Will you pray for me in Jesus’ name?” And Todd was able to gather in worship with an illegal house church whose worship was so loud Todd thought to himself, “Maybe we ought to quiet this down a bit!”Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshow/wgnbSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

[Original airdate: 10/6/23] Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs returns with an update on the state of the persecuted church in particular hot spots around the world. Author of "When Faith is Forbidden: 40 Days on the Frontlines with Persecuted Christians", Todd's understanding of and compassion for those who suffer for Christ is boundless and his desire to help meet their needs is a blessing beyond compare for our brethren overseas. How will Americans respond to their own faith trials should the Lord tarry? There is so much strength to be had simply through hearing the stories of those who are already facing brutal hostility in nations not friendly to the gospel. While prayer is their #1 need year-round, churches are invited to take time to pray specifically on this year's International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church on November 5.
