There was very big news in the submarine world today as USS Connecticut departed San Diego for the final leg of a 7000 nautical mile surface transit. The Sub Vets, Eric and Dave (your submarine experts!) recall their own adventures on surfaced submarines, including the more disgusting bits (Hint: NEVER Trust a guy in the crews lounge or Dave when he tells you that the AMR1 bilge will "help" with your seasickness)! The West Taiwanese have a new theory about what Connecticut hit, but like most insane conspiracy theories it doesn't really... well... hold water. And the whole scenario is just a reminder of why we have the greatest Navy in the entire world. And we BEAT ARMY!

Abhijit Iyer-Mitra weighs in on what happened in Nagaland and the limping Chinese sub, that may have attacked US submarine USS Connecticut
China is preparing for war. It has shut off gambling in Macao, stopped the export of fertilizers, and is facing huge unemployment issues. A Chinese nuclear sub surfaced north of Taiwan, heading for repairs. Reliable satellite images suggest that this sub may have rammed into the USS Connecticut. How prepared is India for a war that might take place mostly underwater, using nuclear submarines, asks Elmer Yuen?
The United States Navy has fired the Captain and some officers of the USS Connecticut and claims the Sub ploughed into an uncharted, undersea protrusion. CCP has a totally different story. Elmer gleans the truth and also explains what might have happened in the 18 Xi-Modi meetings. Finally, the CCP Plenary session resolution has some surprises for Xi, also revealed. A must-watch!
John Burris, civil rights attorney, and Steve Poikonen, national organizer for Action4Assange, join us to wrap up the important stories for the week. The neocon regime change plan for Cuba has fallen flat as their November astroturf protests drew little fanfare. Also, President Biden held a virtual summit with China's leader, the US is making absurd allegations of election fraud against Nicaragua, and a new story has come out claiming that the USS Connecticut was attacked by a Chinese drone.Jack Rasmus, professor in economics and politics at St. Mary's College in California, joins us to discuss the economic stories for the week. Inflation continues to surge as energy prices skyrocket. Also, gold prices go up, Biden's approval ratings plunge, and the "Build Back Better" plan may soon see a vote. Dr. Yolandra Hancock, board-certified pediatrician and obesity medicine specialist, joins us to discuss covid. OSHA has decided to drop an application of the federal vaccine mandates after a federal court issued a scathing rebuke. Also, the FDA is likely to authorize an additional shot for all adults, and approximately 10 percent of the children in the US have gotten vaccinated.Dr. Linwood Tauheed, associate professor of economics at the University of Missouri- Kansas City, and James Carey, editor/co-owner at Geopoliticsalert.com, join us to discuss this week's major stories. The US military budget is bloated and growing larger as economic problems increase for everyday citizens. Also, we discuss the president's approval ratings, and the "Build Back Better" legislation.Jim Kavanagh, writer at thepolemicist.net and CounterPunch, and Dan Lazare, author and investigative journalist, join us to discuss important stories of the week. Democrats are concerned that their current leadership is not viable for a 2024 presidential run. Also, Germans look to be facing a long cold winter partially due to EU intransigence with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, the US is fueling astroturf protests in Cuba, Biden recently talked with President Xi Jinping of China, and the Democrats have hidden a giant tax cut for the rich inside of Joe Biden's signature "Build Back Better" legislation.

Eric Ryle is back to talk submarines and whether or not Tom Clancy is still dead… Updates on the latest idiotic USS Connecticut theory and how the Russians were so concerned about what appeared to be litter on the ocean floor that they cleaned up a bunch of it, just to make everybody smile. Smoking cigarettes on Submarines used to be a thing. How Dave ended up as a C3 Poseidon FTB. Eric tells the communists some Top Secret stuff. As it turns out, Tom Clancy might have been Brietbarted over his book “The Hunt for Red October.” In any case, he is still dead…

Nuclear Submarine Connecticut. We aren't safer. We're becoming more dangerous. The USS Connecticut may have come close to sinking in the South China Sea. We've built up our military making high ranking officers wealthy working in our military industries producing weapons and it hasn't made us safer. We have the largest defense budget in the world and it's been used to protect our policy of the Petro-Dollar. We've controlled the price of oil for fifty years and we've been a debtor country for fifty years. No we aren't safer. MUSIC Carl Orff, Paul Haslinger, Robert Cobert, John Barry, Trent and Atticus Ross, Charles Wain.

Eric Ryle of The SubVet.com is back to talk with Dave about their expert opinions of the latest news on the USS Connecticut. First off, the Navy had kind of admitted that the submarine hit the bottom, somewhere in the South China Sea. Then the Navy sort of released an official picture of the boat, although technically it's a picture of the SecNav talking last week with the Captain of the Tender in Guam. The Connecticut just happens to be in the background. But it's clear from the accidental photo that the boat didn't surface under anything. On Thursday the Navy announced that the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer and the Chief of the Boat had all been relieved for loss of confidence. And hinted that there was some bit of procedural non-compliance. Since Dave and Eric are both Strategic Weapons Weenies and have extensive knowledge of SSN operations, they are clearly the guys to listen to for the latest updates on what happened. And some sea stories about mouth wash, Swimming Sasquatches and Unidentified Flying (and Submerged) objects, none of which have anything to do with USS Connecticut. Set condition 1SQ for Strategic Launch and strap in for a typical submarine ride!

Eric Ryle of The SUB VET online group and webpage joins Dave to talk about the USS Connecticut overhead shots. The first overhead satellite shots of the USS Connecticut are both revealing and confusing. It's now clear that the ship did hit something bow on, but what the extent of the total damage was will probably never be known. In any case, it is yet another example that one of the basic truths about US Navy submariners remains as true today as it did a hundred and twenty-one years ago: You cannot do epic shit with average people…

Rabbi Dave remains unconvinced that the “religious exemption” argument is a valid, especially for government football coaches for mediocre programs. Friar Jedi Cook on the other hand, believes that the use of aborted fetal cells in vaccines is a valid religious exemption, although it's unclear as to what religions (if any) actually hold that position. Then again, Dave is of the stated belief that the USS Connecticut was grabbed by a Kraken. It makes as much sense as anything else. Crab Rangoon's are ubiquitous at Chinese Restaurants in the United States. But don't look for them in China. Why not? Because it turns out that American Chinese culture, mixed with Tiki Culture (Think Trader Vic's) has been an enormous influence on what Americans think is delicious Chinese food. Be careful of the atomic wedgies and be ever so thankful for the death penalty. It will leave you asking… What the Frock?

Topping today's Open-Source Report: The US military says a nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Connecticut collided with an ‘object' on Saturday while submerged in the South China Sea. Reuters reports that 15 sailors suffering minor injuries. The navy has not provided details on what the ‘object' may have been. This somewhat unsettling news comes as The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that a US special operations forces and a contingent of Marines have been secretly rotating into Taiwan to train the island's military.
